    Perfect Productivity PC

If you're looking for a good balance between portability and productivity, you can't go wrong with the Asus Zenbook Flip 2-in-1 15.6" OLED Laptop. It is simple yet stylish, feels solid and well made yet not too heavy, and handles multiple tasks with ease thanks to the 16GB RAM. Two features stand out to me: -The screen is amazing. It is very bright. In fact, this is the first laptop I have owned that I feel the need to turn down the brightness, even in a well lit/bright room. Viewing angles are great, and motion is very smooth thanks to the 120hz refresh rate. -The battery life is simply incredible. As a test I looped an HD video to play constantly and set the screen brightness as high as it would go. To my astonishment, the battery lasted 14hrs before getting down to 8% battery life left. Playing a video isn't the most CPU intensive task, but the bright screen is the power hog and I have no doubt that the laptop would last a full, long day doing basic productivity tasks. The CPU is definitely a plus as well. The 12th generation i7 processor has 14 cores and 20 threads for even the most demanding tasks and many running programs. This processor ranks in the 93rd percentile according to benchmark tests in comparison with other laptops with similar processors. Surprisingly, the 2D and 3D benchmarks scored rather low, only in the 39th percentile. But this isn't a gaming PC, it is a productivity PC and for that this laptop excels.

      Dear Dwizard,

Indeed, it has a great screen clarity.

We do understand the inconvenience this may have caused if the size of the screen didn't meet your expectations. In regards to the slow speed or performance, this can easily resolved by installing Windows update. Keeping Windows updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance. While accessing web applications, please check if the laptop has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since poor or unstable internet connection will definitely affect system speed and performance.

Flip book designed with quality in mind

If your looking for versatile on the go without having to sacrifice quality then Asus has got you covered. Note books have been nothing new but what separates this piece from the rest is what you don't see. Besides a sleek and well built chassis the hardware that is packed in here is probably some of the best you can find in a notebook style laptop. Out of the box first impression of the unit was very apparent that alot of love went in to the quality of the design. The unit is a little on the chunky side and has some weight to it however the billet aluminum housing boast a nice sleek quality design while the hinges have a sturdy feel to them which is sure to boast countless use before degradation sets in. Let's talk about some of the features this unit packs and how you can expect it to affect your day to day tasks. -Intel evo i7 processor. This processor allows for smooth multi-tasking with very little down time in between. When doing zoom meetings the ease of live streaming while presenting business charts and videos in between to show sales growth moved flawlessly. Never once did the cpu load up more than 50%. The cpu took it with ease almost asking for more. One of the biggest issues i would experience when live presentations were necessary through zoom meetings was higher than normal cpu load stress which would lead to higher temps and rough load times. Speaking of cooling this moves over to the next best feature - Dual fan heat pipes. With Asus's "IceCool Plus" dual heat pipe design cooling temps never reached more than 58°C on the cpu side and gpu temps were a steady 67°C under load. Im not going to pretend to know the design behind their "IceCool Plus" technology but what i do know is that it is the coolest running and quietest design i have ever encountered. Nothing special stands out as it uses a dual 91 blade fan with two heat pipes which is about standard now. However under heavy load the unit never got too hot to handle and never once came close to throttling down. Only a select few times did it break the 60 mark. This ensures that you can push this unit to limit and it will hang. -Intel Arc GPU. This is a feature that actually drew me to this unit. Asus has implemented Intel's newest GPU and basically first real GPU which is exciting to see how it performs among the big competitors such as Nvidia and AMD. Intel's newest Arc design ran flawlessly putting down TimeSpy scores around the 3900 to 4000 mark. Temps were considerably low and combined with the with 2.8k OLED display at 120hz picture quality is phenomenal to say the least. Artistic design and video quality pop with all colors vibrantly being displayed. The true black feature ensures that you get that perfect picture your trying to design or display with adequate depth design. What this means is if you plan on using this for drafting purposes or creator content, whatever design you have envisioned will easily be brought to life with no detail lacking. And yes with these specs it can handle PC gaming even though it wasn't specifically designed for it. Although don't expect to to be able to run Ultra settings. -Battery life. Battery life was very long and depending on what i was using it for and load, i usually got anywhere between 10 to 12 hours of run time. Full charge was done in a little over a hour which is not bad at all. -16GB DDR5/ 1TB SSD. The 16GB of DDR5 ram ensures your getting some of the latest tech to handle that quick access between tabs and multi tasking. What this means is as your switching between displays and different windows you have opened, there will be almost very little to no load time. The SSD memory means not only do you have no noise from a disk but you get faster load times which allows you to access more programs at lighting speed. These two combined features almost make it a must in this industry especially if your looking to use this set up from a design or buisness stand point. Other than that most of the other features or pretty much standard. The keys offer a nice feel to them with some limited RGB lighting. The speakers are decent enough for you to hear whats coming through. The IR camera does a good job at adding another level of security while also offering great picture quality for zoom meetings. You do have thunderbolt however you only have hdmi 2.0 which was a little strange that wasn't upgraded. Overall this is a great buy and once received you will be able to easily tell that time and quality was definitely invested when designing this newest flagship.

Love my 2-n-1 unit. This thing is super lightweight, love the length of time the battery remains charged up even when not connected to its charger, and the graphics are amazing. I can honestly say i was shocked at how great she works. I would def recommend this unit. The transition from laptop to tablet is seamless when you flip the unit.

Overall a decent computer. I received this as part of a free sample program and I have to say I’m very impressed with it. I’ve been using a MacBook for years and was very excited to try out a PC. I use this computer for entertainment and working while traveling. Battery: I get about 11 hours on a single charge which is is more than I need in a single day. Screen: pretty big and the resolution is good but not great. Touchscreen is a great feature but it’s a bit too bulky to flip the screen and use as a tablet. Design: love the blue color and size but like I mentioned it’s a bit heavy but surprisingly thin. Webcam: impressed with the facial recognition feature to log in but takes longer than my apple products to register that it’s me. The resolution on the webcam is also average. OS: not as user friendly as iOS and I’ve had to update it about 4 times a week which although is fairly fast is still an inconvenience. I’ve had a few random issues like keyboard lighting flashes every once in a while even when I turn the lighting off and it’s crashed once already in the month that I’ve had it.

There’s nothing quite so awesome as a laptop! I’ve always found that being able to load up some movies, tv shows, games, and/or music onto a portable computer and tossing it in my backpack before errands, school, work, or a weekend adventure was one of humanity's greatest achievements. I’ve had some good and some bad laptops before (including one years ago by Asus, which was on the good list) but I can say that my Asus Zenbook Flip is maybe one of my favorites! In the box you get your laptop, your charging cable, and some warranty/quick start paperwork which is all standard for most electronics these days. Weight wise this feels sturdy and durable but without feeling like you're carrying a brick, its very light for how well put together it feels. The dark blue color is attractive and different in a world of silvers and blacks and the 15 inch OLED touchscreen is bright and vibrant is it's not quite 4K resolution (its 2880x1620, sarcastically called 1440p). The keyboard is backlit, which is a feature not enough laptops include and I give bonus points for, as someone who often finds myself typing in dark or dim rooms, as well as for the number pad on the right side of the layout. That being said the number pad is packed up close to the keyboard and I found myself accidentally pushing on the Enter or Shift keys while trying to press the left side numbers. On the right side of the computer is the power button up near the front (user facing) end, 2 USB-C ports, a headphone jack, three vents, and the power cord jack. On the left side is a USB 3 port, an HDMI port, more vents, and a micro SD slot. So already the look and basic features of this laptop are winning me over but it's advertised as having the Intel Arc A370M dedicated graphics, supposedly perfect for creating, gaming, photo editing, and even 8K video processing. I’ve found dedicated graphics don’t live up to expectations so I installed Bioshock Infinite, as a semi-recent PC game I had available and could test it on. It defaulted to low graphics but still looked good and had no hitches I could see in the opening cinematics and level. I restarted with graphics on Ultra High, trying to break it and see lag or janky graphics or something but again the opening of the game is gorgeous! I was surprised and though I don’t have any recent games to test out I loaded SystemRequirementsLab's “Can I Run It” tool to see if I could run modern games. It denied me Elden Ring, which I wasn’t surprised by as it's the most recent game with graphical requirements, but it also said I couldn’t play GTA5 which was a few years old. Curious, I asked if I could run “Bioshock Infinite '' and it said I can’t play that either which I knew was false. Your mileage may vary with the gaming aspect of this laptop but I plan to see if anyone I know has anything recent I can test on this and update my review later. One of the advertised features and reason for the name Zenbook Flip is that it has a hinge to allow you to fold the laptop all the way over into a tablet mode or anything in between. This worked great in “tent” mode and “base” mode (keyboard down and screen upright to allow for movie watching) but the orientation didn’t automatically change to reflect the new orientation (meaning picture is upside down in tent mode). At first I figured it was an oversight somehow and was really annoyed but after a couple more attempts it finally did auto orient and has worked each time since, weird but worth noting that you mean need to get the gyro or whatever inside to read the flip to make it work.. I had no problem with photo editing either, it ran my CS6 with no issues (other than using a touchpad makes precision trimming or painting a chore). The OLED display makes all my streaming movies look like a mini movie theater and the sound is really loud without losing clarity! All the typical use stuff was easy for this bad boy too, don’t even worry about PowerPoint, Excel, or any kind of word processing! Battery is OK, obviously you can set your brightness and features to squeeze more or less battery time out of it but I found myself getting enough time that when a low battery popped up I didn’t feel slighted by the hardware. I had it fully charged as of 4pm yesterday and after doing some tech support chat for another electronic device in my house and some web browsing before bed, so give or take 3-4 hours of light/typical use I logged on today to find I still had 80% battery…so I guesstimate you could do web browsing and your daily work or homework for about four days before you’d need to think about plugging in. I will call out that you have a bevel design with vents at both the 90 degree positions and below it at the 45 degree positions so if you do find yourself using more than typical power you’d going to feel the hot air coming out and warming your lap: great for winter but less appealing as we get into the summer months. Overall this is a great looking laptop with plenty of ports to plug in anything you’d need, a few bells and whistles, and it will run for days of normal use. Without naming names I can say this is in my top three laptops I’ve ever owned and it's possibly the best depending on how modern games play on it. Minor complaints are the small cramped position of the number pad (although its presence is a point in favor compared to laptops with just number keys along the top of the keyboard) and the hot air may be a turn off for some when using more than normal chip power. Still highly recommended if this is in your budget and you’re looking for an above average to high end laptop for gaming or creative work.

First of all I love the design of this as a laptop. Very sleek sleek, light weight, nice color etc. As a tablet its a little bulky and hard to hold but the convenience of having something like a two in one overrides that. I'm an Apple user through and through but it was nice not having to switch to my iPad when I want to do something that requires pen usage i.e drawing in illustrator, editing minute details in photos, etc. I can't say I would completely leave my MacBook for this but I would definitely use this more as a home/work laptop. I could see myself traveling with this over my MacBook Pro and iPad Pro if I didn't have any design work to do. I understand this isn't their pro level but I would say it still held up against what I had. The Zenbook has a lot of nice add ons like using your face to unlock which was quite quick and didn't seem to have too many issues with low lighting. Its genuinely impressive and and I love how fast it moves; I'd like to see if that holds up in 6 months or so. All in all I'd recommend this to other PC users and give a nudge to the Apple users as well. **This product as part of a free sample program**

I got this product as part of a free sample program, as soon as we powered it on the keyboard had us, it lights up and has settled color tones, the screen is bigger and the less blue light feature is noticeable right off the bat, the screen is bright yet not that super bright light all devices tend to have, we loved that especially since we all wear glasses. As we started it up it asked us what we’re our interests as we put Art, gaming, and media it configured its features to what fit us best, the Zen book itself is pretty heavy as in good quality heavy. It showed class. The screen is able to flip fully back and used as a tablet, the battery life is great as well. It did not feel hot as our MacBook did the first time we tuned that one on. Overall we enjoyed this laptop very much and it’s a great addition to our family now that lost stuff are touch screen.

Opening the box is an experience. The box opens, lifting the laptop to make it easier to pull out. The power adapter and documentation is stowed away in easy to get to flaps under and to the sides of the laptop. Once I had it out, I was getting it set up to use very quickly. It goes through the typical setup steps for Windows. I was really surprised the first time I heard it play a sound. The music sounds full and deep, a trait I'm not used to in a portable computer. Once I got well into Windows, I noticed that the icons and text was much larger than I expected with the screen resolution advertised (2880x1620). I have 20/25 vision, so I like to use the space to maximum efficiency. I make my way to the display settings and the default is set to 200%, so I dropped it down to 100%, and that was too low! The text was clear, but I felt myself straining, so it went back up to 125% and that is perfection in my humble opinion. I have been using it for a little over a week, and I love how quickly it responds to me. I can easily have multiple tabs and applications open with no lag in response time. I have one problem that took me a bit to figure out. When flipping it to use touchscreen only it worked perfectly, but when I flipped it back I couldn't seem to use the touchpad. The cursor was nowhere to be found on the screen and the only way I could get it to come back was to close the lid, wait about 5 seconds, and then all was good. I don't flip it often, so it's not a real issue, but that has been my only issue.

This laptop is really a game changer. I love the touch screen option for times when using the trackpad mouse just takes too long. The battery life is good for moderate use. If you are a heavy user you may be connecting to power more often. I use my PC for work and also for fun. This meets my needs completely. There are so many different things I can do on this PC that I know I will get use out of. I have had apple devices in the past but also had PCs and I do enjoy this more than my apple devices. This is overall a great laptop, easy to use and very sleek and nice looking too!

The specs of this laptop grabbed my attention and I had very high expectations while testing it. It performed flawlessly and continues to impress me. At 15.6" its bigger than my 13" I've been using, but that comes with some benefits!! First, the keyboard that includes a number pad... I use my laptop primarily for work, and some browsing, shopping, etc... Having the number pad is a must have for me as I work in my spreadsheets and QuickBooks. It made life so much easier and it was very intuitive for me to use! My 13" doesn't have the number pad and I realized how much for efficient I am while having it. The DISPLAY! 2.8K, 120 Hz, OLED! BOOM!!!! Beautiful colors, crystal clear, bright bights, dark darks, and you can flip the screen to use it as a tablet... I haven't used it as a tablet yet, as I haven't had the need... But I like that its an option. It functions perfectly as a laptop so the fact that the screen flips to tablet mode is nice, but if you don't need it you wouldn't even notice it! While using, I didn't notice it heating up, even after the fans kicked on it still seemed to be pretty cool. I tested it on battery, and plugged in and didn't notice any difference in performance or cooling the laptop while doing some pretty heavy photo and video editing. This might be the best laptop you can get, especially at this price point. Build quality, performance, usability, and functionality is above the bar and the DISPLAY is the absolute best. You will not be disappointed...

I am EXTREMELY pleased with the Zenbook Flip! I have BEGUN to realize all of the benefits after this short time of use and still setting things up. Setup was very easy, step-by-step walk-thru. The keypad backlights and touch are amazing, as are the phone companion, Windows OS, functionality, how apps integrate, and the SPEED of loading apps. The touch screen is great; trackpad not needed much but works amazingly well when used. Music plays well; easy access volume and other shortcut buttons. The OLED screen makes all the difference! Watching movies in bed with this or on the plane while I travel have been way more enjoyable! The quality behind the screen is really impressive and you will be easily immersed! Overall the laptop can be used for many things. I use it for work and for regular home use. For work I am constantly using may apps and internet use, and this laptop preforms without skipping a beat. So whether you are using this for multiple applications or just starting out it is very easy to use and understand this laptop!

It worked well for two years with a solid 4 star performance until it died almost exactly two years later because its motherboard burnt down. I paid almost 1400 for it and I have only regrets for making such a silly investment. Now, I'm getting a new HP from Best Buy because I was impressed how my wife's six years old HP is still working well. So, I hope this time, I will be paying for my new laptop less than 700 dollars per year. Do not recommend.

Great machine with a slight touchscreen issue

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I was super excited to get a sample ASUS Zenbook Flip 2-in-1 to test out. I have been in the market for a new personal laptop for quite a while, so the timing of this machine coming into my life was perfect. I've never used a touchscreen computer, only an iPhone or iPad, so it was interesting finding new ways to use the screen instead of the trackpad for computer-based things. I'm a graphic designer who has used primarily Mac laptops and desktop computers, so this review will mostly revolve around that usage and history. I have to say, my main graphics machine is a Mac Pro so I didn't expect much. However, Adobe apps opened just as quickly as they do on my Mac and run just as smoothly. Editing large documents in InDesign, retouching photos in Photoshop, and scrubbing through video in Premiere were all tasks that could be done without lag. I found the touchscreen capabilities in these apps to be a little awkward without a stylus, which would be a great tool to include with these machines. I will go out and buy one, but I feel like I shouldn't have to on a hybrid machine with this kind of graphics card. Obviously, if it's good for intensive tasks I expected it to be great for surfing the web and playing solitaire. (Yes, this was the first non-work thing I tried coming over from the Mac side...I missed my mindless games!) Doing everyday tasks is a joy on this machine. I find the touchscreen to be useful and intuitive in games and a lot of navigation on websites. I was super impressed with battery life. I'm not using this computer for an entire workday so I can't speak to that, but when using it a few hours a day I can easily go without an overnight charge. I'm used to using a company-provided PC laptop with a bad battery, so I may be biased...but I felt free to take this Zenbook with me and leave the charger at home. It's a great feeling. Aesthetically, it's a gorgeous machine. I love the dark slate/blue color, the semi-matte finish, and the larger than normal keyboard letters. It feels good to type on as well, since the keys aren't at all "clicky" like my work machine. It weighs less than my work laptop and has a bigger screen to boot. I wish my company would give these out instead! I find the types and amount of ports to be great for how I use this machine. One HDMI to connect to an external monitor (which worked well), one USB-A for my old external hard drive, and two USB-C so I can charge my iPhone and Apple Watch if I need to. My only real complaints are that I despise Windows (not the fault of this machine as it makes it as tolerable as it's going to get) and that the touchscreen implementation in tablet mode is glitchy to say the least. There are many times that it doesn't seem to recognize that I'm trying to use it that way and the on-screen keyboard doesn't show up and the physical keyboard doesn't work either. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but any other way isn't intuitive. Honestly, I don't use this in tablet mode often so it isn't a huge deal to me. I will dig into the settings if I find this happening often enough, but it isn't at all a dealbreaker to me. All in all, this is a fantastic machine for graphics work and general use, and the only thing that would make it better for me would be if it was made by Apple and ran Mac OS. Since Apple doesn't make a touchscreen laptop, I will settle for being very happy with my Zenbook!
