Awesome laptop, by far the best windows laptop I've ever owned

I am yet to explore all the features of this laptop. So far, it seems to be doing as advertised.

I'm wondering if the blue vertical line on the screen was related to the sale of this unit. A few problems from the very beginning. The line, a constant blue screen of death when opening various apps, and the speakers working sometimes. All fixed now by Best Buy but still has me wondering about the next months.

Design: The first thing you will notice when unboxing the Zenbook S14 is how light and thin it is. At first glance I thought it was a 13" laptop, but its a true 14" with all the fat trimmed. A true Ultrabook. Just like all the previous Zenbooks the build quality is solid. The lid is made out of what they call ceraluminum which is a ceramic and aluminum mixture. The rest is aluminum. It looks nice is feels very premium. The color is called Zumaia Grey which is just a darker grey color. It doesn't seem to show finger prints as much as other grey laptops I've used. It has a sleek design that is both stylish and professional looking. Specs: Lets get the basic specs out of the way. Windows 11 Home 14" 3k 16:10 OLED display Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 2 Processor 16gb of DDR5 RAM Intel Arc GPU 1tb PCIe4 SSD drive WIFI 7 support Display: This specific model has a 14-inch 3k 120Hz 16:10 OLED display. Asus calls it a Lumina OLED display and it looks stunning. The display is sharp and clear, with great contrast, vibrant colors, and deep blacks. Its glossy and supports touch. It also gets bright enough to the point I don't need to set to to max brightness when using. Keyboard: The keyboard is the same that they have been using on Zenbooks for a while now. So if you are use to those you will feel right at home. Its responsive and extremely easy to type on. Its backlit. One thing to note is that the light color they are using is different depending on which color laptop you get. On the white model its white and on the grey model is more of a purpleish color. It also has 3 levels of brightness and they are all very bright. Touch Pad: A large touch pad is a must for me and this thing delivers that as well. Basically as big as they could make it. The edges of the touchpad have gesture controls for things like screen brightness, volume, and so on which is pretty cool. It works but I find that they are small dead spots on the edges when using the touchpad normally. Webcam: It has a full HD camera built in that supports Windows Hello so you can login with facial recognition which so far has been working really well. I prefer this over password or finger print biometrics any day. Sound: Speakers actually sound pretty descent for how thin this thing is. You can tweak the EQ setting in the Asus app if you want but I would say they sound fine out of the box. The speakers slots are on the side and looks like they fire downward. Performance: These Series 2 Intel Core Ultra 7 processors are interesting. They are kind of an all in one chip. The ram is in the cpu die which saves space and lowers latency. Also there is no hyper-threading with these so you get 8 cores instead of 16 like the previous generation but in return you get really good single core performance and better battery life. It has a CPU, a GPU, and a NPU for AI. Performance-wise I have no complains. The 16GB of RAM can handle multitasking with ease. Everything loads and responds quickly as you would expect. I noticed no lag at all. It wakes instantly after opening the lid and is ready to go. I have never had a laptop wake up this quickly. Doing general every day stuff like watching videos and surfing the web this laptop was completely silent. I haven't noticed any heat issues like I did with some of the previous i7 processors. The only time I heard the fans spin up is when I was initially setting it up and installing all the updates (which there was a lot of). Outside of that its been completely silent. Battery: Like previous generations of Zenbooks it charges with a 65 watt usb-c charger. It doesn't have a giant power brick like some so its more like a phone charger which is nice. The battery is 72Wh which takes up most of the chassis. It says it has all day battery life. I kind of balked at that when I read it but wow this thing delivers. Once topped off, I feel completely comfortable taking this thing with me on the go and not bringing my charger with me. Summary: Overall this Asus Zenbook S14 is a fantastic all-around laptop with great battery life. This thing was built with the purpose to be powerful, stylish, and portable. If you want a ultra portable Windows laptop with great battery life this is it.

While the screen isn’t the brightest I’ve seen, it’s more than adequate for most situations, and ASUS has included features like pixel refresh to minimize the risk of burn-in. Performance: This laptop brings a noticeable boost in processing power. It makes multitasking smooth and speeds up tasks like local AI processing. I’ve found that the laptop handles demanding workloads like video editing or light gaming without any significant slowdowns. Battery Life & Port Selection Battery life is impressive, averaging around 8-9 hours for regular usage. Plus, the battery charges quickly, reaching 60% in less than an hour through Thunderbolt 4, though it would have been ideal if the charger was more travel-friendly. While ASUS’s included charger doesn’t have detachable AC prongs or a folding design, it’s compatible with any USB-C charger, offering flexibility. Port-wise, the Zenbook S 14 has a respectable selection: two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB-A 10Gbps, HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Keyboard & Trackpad typing on the backlit keyboard is comfortable, with decent key travel that some may find slightly shallow but effective. Large trackpad supports Windows gestures, and their custom gestures for brightness and volume control are thoughtful, though I found myself accidentally adjusting brightness and eventually turned that off. Audio & Webcam Quality: The four Harman Kardon-tuned speakers are surprisingly clear for such a thin laptop, delivering good sound without distortion, although bass could be stronger. The microphone quality is excellent for video calls, and the webcam performs well in decent lighting conditions, though graininess is noticeable in low light. The camera’s eye-tracking and background blur features are a nice addition for video calls. Pros: Stunning 3K OLED touchscreen with vibrant colors and high refresh rate Lightweight and ultra-thin design Solid build quality Excellent battery life and fast-charging capabilities Comfortable keyboard and responsive trackpad Good audio performance for its size Overall, this laptop is a stylish, powerful, and durable laptop that excels in daily tasks with the added novelty of Copilot+ AI features. While it might not be the most powerful laptop for intensive gaming or professional-grade media editing, for most users, it offers the perfect balance of performance and portability.

Problem is Best Buy - The ASUS Zen S14 PC is great performer and matches open box "good" condition. The issue is I purchased and paid for an "excellent" condition PC, but I got a "good" condition PC as indicated in two places on the box and package. I opened it quick, took the PC on the road and notice a bit more scratches than expected and came home and noticed the small text "good" condition on the box. Called Best Buy twice to ask if they could charge me the good condition price since over 14 days... they won't. Slimy way to keep about $40.

Good for school. I wish it had better gaming capabilities

I bought this for my son in April because he was going to college in the fall. The laptop was working fine for a couple of months until the microphone abruptly stopped working. The issue was unresolvable, and attempts to update the BIOS software led to the computer crashing and not restarting. The computer doesn't turn on anymore and has to be sent to Kentucky for them to diagnose the issue, which will take 2-4 weeks, time that my son does not have as he is going back to college.

This notebook has been extremely frustrating to use. So many different pop up and notifications. The method of stopping these varies and often does not work. Start with the pin. You can not type the pin at first start up. You have to restart before it will work. The list goes on and is often something new.

Not a bad laptop, but the ai is overhyped and not worth the price premium.

This is a fabulous laptop with powerful processing performance from its Intel Core Ultra 7 series 2 processor, 16 gigs of LPDDR5X ram, Intel Arc graphics, 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, and the amazing 14-inch 3K AMOLED screen. To say that this laptop is a processing powerhouse would be an understatement. However, it should be noted early on that this is not, and should not be dubbed as a gaming machine. The Intel Arc graphics processor works great for all things – except gaming. Don’t expect this to be your mobile replacement for gaming, the GPU power just isn’t there. But it can do everything else with ease. Design and Build This laptop was built with functionality in mind. A fabulously functional machine ideal for work, school, and maybe some light gaming if you need a break in between. It has a very classy and clean look in a compact, small footprint frame. Solid built with a durable feel. It’s well-suited for any student or professional who requires strong, reliable performance in a compact and super portable laptop. I really like the sleek look of this design, very thin and lightweight with minimal screen bezel. Performance Powered by the Intel 256v Core Ultra 7 series 2 processor and 16 gigs of LPDDR5X ram.
