ASUS is stepping up in the world with a beautiful “ceramiluminum” finish on this machine. It’s a sign that they’ve learned to make a machine not only functional on the inside, but pretty on the outside as well. It’s comfortable to use, with a sharp, clear, high contrast OLED screen. The keyboard is backlit and has a standard amount of travel. The layout feels full size. It would be nice if they started intending the keys, like Logitech does on their keyboards, but you can’t have everything! Under the hood, you’ll find this is one of the first with Intel’s new breed Core Ultra 7 series 2 processor. What does it mean to be a Co-pilot Plus PC you might wonder? Today iit means great battery life. Tomorrow, it might mean much more. I’ve used it for a few days so far and it goes without external power pretty much all day. For me, this means 8-4 with several meetings / note taking throughout. At the end of the day, there was still 25% battery left. Enough to do a Zoom call after dinner without charging. The promise of what’s to come may be enough to get some to invest in this machine over a similarly sized machine without the AI processor built in. AI models currently live in clouds built by Microsoft, Google, and Facebook. The processors from Intel, AMD, and Snapdragon are designed to run AI models locally, against only your data. This will mean your data will not escape your machine to become part of the seeds for future mass AI responses. For now, there’s some enhancements to background replacement and object removal. Windows promises that Co-pilot PCs will get ‘Recall’ a way to look back in history to see what files you were working on. It will be a boon for those who are scatter brained, but also work on way too many different things during the day. Hopefully, this will mean better effectiveness of getting through my To Do last each day. The case is slim, but still has all the ports you need: HDMI, USB-A, USB-C/Thunderbolt. Charging it through a 65 watt plug in adapter, but you can use any of the small after market USB-PD chargers. I have a small one I used with my last machine, that’s lighter and slimmer. Despite the slim case, the machine is solid to use in all situations. I was holding it with one arm, while maneuvering with the mouse using the other. There were no issues. My last machine with a plastic case would bend a little, making it harder to use the click option on the touchpad. Sound is decently loud for such a small, slim machine. Callers were able to hear me without issue using the built in mic. Picture quality from the built-in camera was excellent. ASUS enhanced the function keys by moving volume, play, pause, and skip from them to the touch pad. The sides and corners of the touchpad become slider controls for media functions. In many ways they’re easier to use and easier to find. I’m a keyboard first user and it’s annoying to look at the keyboard to find which F key handles volume. Using the touchpad I feel is more intuitive. Overall, this is a bit of a premium price for what it will become. The battery life may be reason for some to get it, but others will find they can get what they need at a more value oriented option. If you have the cash, there’s nothing else like it right now.

Let’s start from the very beginning. I really like how the laptop comes packaged completely in recyclable material. And the material doesn’t have a cheap feeling. I was thinking about keeping the inner box to reuse it as a storage box. The one drawback was the amount of bubble wrap. I’ve seen paper cushioning that replaces bubble wrap so maybe they could have used that to keep with the sustainable them.   Anyway, on to the actual laptop. My first impression was how light it is. It weighs practically nothing. I am comparing this to the laptop I use on a daily basis which is older and heavier, but it also puts my iPad pro to shame as well. It’s comfortable to carry around with one hand and it’s easy to sit it in you lap without it starting to weigh you legs down after a few minutes.   Set up was relatively quick and easy. It walks you through the entire process giving you the option to restore from a previous PC, connect to your smartphone (either Android or Apple), and subscribe to Office 365 and the gaming platform, both at an additional fee. While I was going through setup I had to connect back to the wifi several different times because it kept dropping the connection. Not sure wha that was about but after setup was complete I haven’t had the same issue with the wifi, yet. That was the only frustrating part about the whole process.   The keyboard is backlit, which is a feature I didn’t know I needed until I didn’t have it. The keys are very quiet and feel cushiony under your fingertips. The touchpad responds to a light touch and it incorporates several functions like volume, brightness, menu, and rewind and fast forward just by dragging your finger along the edge for the appropriate function. I liked this feature as an alternative to the keys on the keyboard.   I’m not very tech smart so my review of the processor is from the viewpoint of just an ordinary girl. I will say that the computer is fast for everyday computing. There’s no delay. I do not game so I cannot say how responsive it would be in that area. The graphics are nice and crisp with just the default settings. The speakers are definitely better than any other computer speakers I’ve had. There’s a sufficient amount of bass so you can turn up your music without it feeling like you’re listening on toy speakers. Again this is from out the box settings but the audio system is very impressive.   This system is an upgrade for me and my last laptop is only about 2 years old. At this price point it delivers on everything it promises and more.

Asus Came Through - Nice Sleek Laptop

This is a very nice looking laptop. It is a very dark gray with silver lines going across it in a geometric pattern. I think it looks good and sleek. Thin and light. It is 14” which I consider small. But if that fits what you want, then there you go. But folks, the power cord. Why is it so short? It’s short. And then it has a whole humongous power block…. At the end of the cord!! Not a power block in the middle where you essentially have two cords to form one. But 1 cord with one humongous power block that has to plug into the outlet. I was actually shocked. I did not know technology was still doing this in 2024. That alone knocks off one star. At least the other end plugs into a usb-c port in the laptop. I want to specifically mention that there is a usb-A port, which is a plus. Usb-A is classic and should always be included, but it is not always included, and I don’t like adapters. Setup was easy as usual. There is really not much to say about it. It goes through setup the way it is supposed to and I didn’t find any hiccups. The keyboard is responsive and backlit. No issues with typing on the keys. It has a big trackpad. And, hey, you can use the trackpad to adjust volume and brightness. I always want a number pad, but I am aware that is not the usual… unfortunately, so when you get one, it’s a nice extra. This laptop has no number pad and it’s not a dealbreaker. The display looks amazing; very vibrant. Battery life is also amazing and super impressive; the power is going to last. Also worth mentioning, I am a regular close-the-lid-to-put-it-to-sleep-overnight user; I do not power down my laptops often. I was surprised at how well it held power when I got back to it the next day. It navigates internet well (responsive). It handles Microsoft apps well. The speakers are okay. I love great audio, but this will do; and is fine for the regular laptop user. I am not doing anything overly intense on the regular, but I am a daily user, so this laptop gets the job done in a great way, other than the power cord/power brick. I like it. It looks good and it performs well, with the display and the battery life as the star performers. I would recommend this laptop.

The Zenbook Completely Changed My Mind!

Not going to lie. I had a bad experience with an Asus Laptop years ago which left a bitter taste in my mouth and kept me from even looking at an Asus, until now. The Zenbook S14 has completely changed my mind on Asus and their products. Right out of the box, I was excited. The sleek design, rich feel, and thin profile captivated me from the first second. Then I opened it up. Everything is precisely made. Even being a relatively smaller sized laptop, the Zenbook feels like a bigger device, in a good way! You can go up to the top of this screen and Best Buy will give you all the numbers and specs. But there’s something to be said about the eye test. This screen pops! The touchscreen is a must! As is the backlit keyboard. These features make all of the difference in the Zenbook being a versatile device that makes me productive no matter if I’m docked at the office with my two screens, or if I’m sitting in our den with the lights low watching TV. I absolutely LOVE the facial recognition sign in feature, and was surprised at the camera’s capability for proximity sensing. The proximity sensing will turn your screen off if you turn your head or walk away and will come back on when you return. Small touches like this will pay dividends on battery consumption. Pairing the high speed Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 2 processor with the WiFi 7 capabilities (must have WiFi 7 to take full advantage) make a machine that absolutely BURNS! No matter what I’m doing work-wise or streaming, it never bogged down. The Zenbook does admirably when it comes to movie video and audio quality. While I typically use wireless headphones, I was pleasantly surprised by the output of the four Harman/Kardon speakers which paired beautifully with the crisp 3K OLED screen. It should be noted that the refresh rate is a nice 120hz, compared to some of these “high quality” screens that only push 60hz. It makes a big difference! I am so excited to replace my aging rock of a laptop with this svelte, work of art! I look forward to using the Zenbook for many years to come and would highly recommend this laptop to anyone in the market.

I've been using this laptop for a couple of months now. I really like the speed of the device, the display is great, audio is good too. The touch screen is not really useful for me, but every once in a while I use it and it's nice to have the option. The battery is great, I charge it until full and can typically use it (zoom/streaming) for at least 5 hours before needing to charge it again. The main drawback - why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 - is the video camera. When I first started the laptop up and tested Zoom and the Camera app, the video quality was terrible. I considered returning it but in the following week as I kept using it, the quality seemed to improve. Maybe there was a Windows update? Either way, the quality is still not great, but it's sufficient for zoom. It works fine for smaller screens where the pixelation is not very apparent. I recommend the laptop so long as you're not using the camera to make videos, in which case you'd probably want a separate high-quality camera anyway.

Let me tell you about the Asus Zenbook s14. Right out of the box, I was blown away by how light it was. Asus has come up with an efficient everyday transportable laptop. It has a responsive performance and a fantastic display, utilizing Intel Arc and giving magnificent graphics. This model is not best for the hardcore gamer, but everyday use is impressive. It has an AMOLED display of 14 inches with an incredible 2880 x 1800 screen resolution. That is also a touch screen. The processor is an Intel core ultra 7 series 2, which is quite impressive. And the one-terabyte SSD drive inside gives you flawless access to your files and media. I love it, but even after all the updates I did on the box, I've had a couple of times where it wouldn't turn on, and I had to plug it up and wait. And at the time it was completely charged so I am still puzzled to why this happened. It works fine now, but I hope that was a one-time issue. In the market for a compact beast of a laptop, this is the one. It comes with co-pilot + as a part of Windows 11 but doesn't do much. But it's worth checking out.

The ASUS Zenbook S14 is a really neat piece of technology. It's super lightweight, compact, and has a nice look on the outer case . It's pretty fast and the WiFi 6 is amazing. It's so light, it has replaced my iPad as my favorite streaming device. I can take it anywhere The sound is really good. Suprisingly good, I was really impressed with the dynamic range of the speakers. I really can't speak highly enough of it, great job Asus! The screen looks great and is in the top 3 of my favorite things. The screen is small so it is perfect for binging any media. The OLED is really brilliant. Rich blacks and all the colors pop off the screen. The touchscreen is perfect! I do a lot of work in Excel and the touchscreen makes the work flow so much faster. The touchpad is easily my favorite part of this Zenbook. It's very responsive and natural feeling. The gestures are also very convienet. I can easily dim the screen when I'm working or turn it up to watch a movie, same with the volume. Overall, this is a great laptop, I really like it.

This is a pretty good laptop. I love how thin and compact it is. It has many great features. I'll mention some of them here. Firstly, the port selection on this laptop is okay, but could be better. It includes two USB-C ports (left), one HDMI port (left), a 3.5 mm headphone jack (left), and one USB-A port (right). I feel like they can include more (maybe an extra USB-A port and a USB-C port on the right side), especially considering how much extra space there is on the sides. Secondly, Windows Hello is quite nicely executed on this laptop. The built-in infrared sensor can unlock the laptop in a second. It doesn't have a fingerprint sensor, but the face recognition is good enough that you probably won't need it. Thirdly, the Intel Core Ultra 7 in here is quite fast. I just ran an update and it took about a minute. The fans do get a little loud at startup, but they eventually quiet down. Fourthly, the specs and overall build quality are solid. It comes with 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, running at 8533 MT/S, and also has 1 TB of storage. It also has a great OLED display. The mousepad is also really good and has haptic feedback. Overall, I'd recommend this laptop to anyone looking for an office or college laptop.

The ASUS Zenbook S 14 is a very beautiful and yet powerful laptop. The thought of the design really goes with the name Zenbook. First off, the laptop seems to be very well built. It has plenty of storage that can help anyone in need of the extra space for the things we need. The set up is very simple and easy to use just like any other laptop. The screen resolution and picture quality is great and could have not asked for anything better. The only thing i would have liked to see is the screen fold a little further back; we are in the times that most laptops should be able to be used as tablets and this one lacks that option. Not a deal breaker due to all the other extra benefits it has. Overall, I am very satisfied with this laptop, and it would make a great addition to anyone looking for that next level laptop. It is perfect for work game and videos. Additional it is very responsive and will not let you down. The computer is pretty much up to par with all other laptops in the market, but the design is what separates it from the rest.
