Less than 2 weeks already started having issues. Shuts down while using it. It was a gift so I have to wait till I can get it back to take it in for replacement.

Touchscreen stopped working after 4 months, then the camera, and after all, the screen. I believe these problems are all due to the extreme overheating. I noticed a BURN MARK on the casing near the screen hinge. Yes, that is how bad the laptop is designed!!!! Now, a $1,400-Zenbook laptop has a dead screen and lies as a desktop pc connected to a monitor. Save your money and do not buy Asus S16

The best of all. It makes it easy to work at night with no room light required and disturbance to others. The big screen size helped to read and watch video better. The set up of printer was easy. However, the cursor / mouse did not work. It jumped the screen all the time and stoped working after a minimal use of laptop within a week. Not only that, it was touch sensitive. It made the screen / page size samll and / or big with a gentle hand touch. It was difficult and frustrating to bring back normal 100% screen size. After use of 4-5 hours (Including idle time), you feel the heat on the fingres when you lift up the bottom to close the lid. For the price I paid, it was not worth at all.

We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing erratic response on the touchpad. It is a smart device, allow some time to get used to its multi-touch function. To improve the touchpad responsiveness and stability, ensure Windows, chipset and touchpad drivers are up to date. Updates for this laptop are posted at: https://www.asus.com/us/laptops/for-home/zenbook/asus-zenbook-s-16-um5606/helpdesk_download?model2Name=UM5606WA. Additionally, if you are accessing web applications, check if this laptop has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since poor and unstable internet connection will affect the responsiveness of the touchpad. We do understand your concern about thermal issues. It is normal for laptops, with the same hardware configuration and regardless of the manufacturer, to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially while running resource-intensive applications. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full throttle. To regulate heat generation, ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions to have efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. While running resource-intensive applications, ensure no other resource-hungry applications, services and processes are running in the background, this will spike the temperature. You can check go to Task Manager to check how high system resource utilization is being used. The heat or temperature does decrease or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down.

Had a few issues with transferring data from an older Windows 10 laptop to a Windows 11 one, so went about it manually, though I know software exists to facilitate this. Haven't heard any complaints, and it looks to be running smoothly.
