    Extremely frustrating. I was hoping that it would work fine, but it didn't. Wifi is horrible even after updating the drivers. After talking to support on line. After going to best buy to have it checked. Google Earth some times doesn't open; I had to open it in safe mode. The internet connection comes in and out. My Nimo laptop that I bought reads downloads of 550 to 600 mbs versus this Asus at 25 to 50 mbs side by side. What I love is the backlit keyboard, the light weight, the OLED touch Screen and has amazing speaker system. But none of this is important if the laptop doesn't work. I'm going to return it. Spent a lot of time trying to make it work but I think it has serious issues with BIOS and the internet says that the ASUS battery management system is to blame.

    The Zenbook S16 is built on an unstable firmware stack — EC, ACPI, and I2C constantly fail in different ways, and ASUS’s forced power‑management only hides the instability instead of fixing it. Every reboot brought a new failure, making the laptop impossible to rely on. This isn’t a stable product — it’s a rotating set of problems.

    Honestly really mid, don’t think it’d worth it at all unless it’s on sale, and I would recommend you trying to get protection on it since it’s breaking on me already

    Beautiful and I love it , the only 2 cons are screen has grid pattern from oled, and the laptop doesn’t turn on sometimes when I click power button , I might have to plug it into a power source or keep pressing and waiting a few minutes. Everything else is perfect

    I did not feel this was worth the hype. It is a sad day when you learn the ASUS Vivobook will have this same processor (or even the HX 370) at 50W TDP, whereas the ASUS Zenbook S 16 has a limit of 28W TDP. This is for proper thermal regulation given the design. Indeed it is a nice laptop, and a feat of engineering in many respects, but the "good-ness" of the 880M isn't able to come alive due to the thermal limits. I would be comfortable to pay $1399 for this same thing but with the 370, at 50W TDP, even if it meant the same 24GB RAM. I decided to return my purchase.

    I wanted to love this computer, but no such luck. I bought the first and the screen continuously blacked out and the computer would not charge. I exchanged it for another. The second one (also purchased new) was registered to someone else. It kept running hot and would shut off. I also noticed that the batter life was not as advertised as it was very short.

      We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused. ASUS is an ISO certified company, as a result, all products go into a strict manufacturing standard. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections that ensure each one is trouble-free. The screen blacking out is typically due to updates being applied in the System Registry during the initial Windows setup. The laptop not charging is a random problem. The second laptop is most likely a return unit if a registered user already exist. Regarding your concern about thermal issues. It is normal for laptop, with the same hardware configuration and regardless of the manufacturer, to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. While running a resource-intensive applications, please ensure no other resource hungry applications are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature and may cause an auto-shutdown. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down. To improve or prolong the battery charged time, if it is discharging faster than normal, please try to do battery calibration manually. To start with, please drain it completely then charge it fully without using the system. Once fully charged, please use the system, without the AC adapter connected, and drain it completely again. Please repeat the charging process thereafter. Additionally, check if the laptop is running with the most current system update and third-party battery draining applications are not running if not in use.
