Product come NOT as described "exellent" condition, with a huge crack and huge den, barely meet "fair" condition, AND without any compensation! Delivery was late for one week than promised date shown on the website when I placed order, from Nov/23 changed to Dec/11 without any compensation again! Lack of integrity and basic work ethics. First and last time here in Best Buy, will definitely share to people around me and my followers on socialmedia, to save more ppl from suffering such devastating experiences what I did.

Excellent Balance Between Size and Performance

Performance When you see a thin and light, you usually don’t think performance. You’re going to be surprised with the Zenbook S 16. AMD has dropped their new Ryzen AI 9 365 processor in the laptop. If all of that means nothing to you, I’ll add the benchmarks down below. It’s not by any stretch a top of the line, but you’ll find it breezes through normal multitasking. Currently switching back and forward between office and an edge browser with over 30 tabs open with no lag or delay. Gaming wasn’t bad. As long as you’re not trying to play high end games with top notch graphics, you’re probably fine. I played Tribes 3 Rivals on lowest settings and frames locked at 60 without any issues. I had a bit more trouble when trying to play New World, where frames barely made it to 30 FPS and that was without pulling mobs or fighting in wars where things can get really busy. If you’re a casual gamer playing lower demand games, you’re in great hands with this PC as it seems to do those well. Wi-Fi performance is great! I have a Wi-Fi 7 router so I can take full advantage of the wireless features. I get very fast consistent Wi-Fi speeds and it negotiates at the router at 2.8 and no issues hitting internet speed tests that max out my connection at 1gb full duplex. For reference, this is faster than most ethernet connections on older routers. Display The display on this PC is beautiful. It measures in at 2880 x 1800 which they call 3K. It’s OLED so you know you’re getting the best display on a laptop and it also refreshes at 120hz so it’s buttery smooth to use. If you wanted to add a cherry on top, it’s also a touch screen. It’s great for watching videos or looking at photos. It is a bit glossy and at only 500 nits, it might not be the best for outdoor use, which for the most part, is not my use case. Keyboard, Mouse, Sound, and Camera The keyboard is just fine. It isn’t satisfying or disappointing in one way or another. I do like that it’s spaced well, ASUS didn’t try to squeeze in a number pad or other keys that would force your fingers to be closer together. I do find myself typing just fine and about normal accuracy although the keys are a little spongy. The mouse is a bit unique compared to other laptops I’ve used. It doesn’t “feel” any different but it does have extra touch features beyond the typical swipe up with 3 or pinch to zoom. If you swipe up or down on the leftmost part of the trackpad you can control the volume up or down, and if you do the same on the right, you can control brightness. You don’t lose mouse functionality in these areas as long as it’s not your starting point. I think it would be neat to be able to customize these settings to do other tasks like keyboard brightness but the settings seem to be fixed. Laptop sound has gotten much better over the past few years. I’ve noticed ASUS has been putting focus here as well. They do well at getting loud without being distorted which is impressive in a thin and light. They’re down firing speakers coming out of the left and right sides of the chassis. Finally, the camera. It’s not good. It’s grainy and I’m not sure if it’s over processing or just bad but it doesn’t come through good at all. What I do like is windows hello. The IR sensor will use depth sensing facial recognition to log you into windows. Also, new to me, is ASUS’ AI sensing camera. Not only will it allow you to add background blur, eye tracking and framing, but also detects when your present at your laptop and will wake the display for windows hello login when you sit back down at your desk. This is a neat little time saver as during a work day you may be up and down at your desk. Design ASUS has always set themselves apart by playing around with laptop design to be unique and appealing. Everything is very well made, almost no flex in the keyboard or surrounding area. The ventilation has a very unique machined design with tiny vent holes that gives it a unique aesthetic. The lid has a unique modern design, which actually looks very professional. The exposed aluminum lines have almost a silver luminance to it, subtly catching the eye. Battery Life Battery life has been great. I’m on and off throughout the day, even while testing different features of the laptop, and only charge at night when I go to sleep. ASUS also boasts 60% battery in 49 minutes with fast charging. I didn’t measure this but I did notice even going from around 50% to 100% it was fast. I’m glad to see a larger focus is being placed on all day usage and less time tethered to the wall while still hammering out great performance. The one downside is you do get a bit of performance hit. While on battery I was getting nearly 200 points less on my multi-core score on Cinebench 2024, it would have been nice to see the same consistency when on battery as I got plugged in. Final Thoughts AMD has been shaking up the game for a few years now and they’re no different in their mobile chips. ASUS has been with them all the way integrating and using these high performance processors to push performance to the max. There’s a few call outs that make this PC just short of perfect. Palm rejection on the track pad needs to be better. Several times while typing up this review, I’ve had my cursor get lost in a paragraph and I ended up typing where I wasn’t supposed to. The other issue is the bottom gets pretty warm when pushing the processor. Not an issue for me as almost exclusively use on a desk or a cooling pad, but some may find it uncomfortable after longer sessions. I really enjoy this laptop for the power package it is. It’s fast, sleek, lightweight, sounds good, has smart features, but there’s still some room for improvement with the trackpad palm detection, camera, and cooling.

The ASUS Zenbook S is a 16-inch productivity machine powered by AMD, Windows 11, and Copilot. This is a high-end laptop that is designed to handle more power-hungry tasks such as content creation, but it isn’t great for heavy gaming. I have only had the Zenbook for about a week, but it’s already proven itself to be a fantastic multitasking powerhouse. DESIGN: The physical design of this laptop is stunning. It has a ‘Celaluminum’ covering, which is a combination of ceramic and aluminum that is strong and scratch resistant. The color is a silvery white tone and there are some geometric lines etched into the lid of the computer. “ASUS Zenbook” is imprinted on the cover as well, but it’s small and set off to one corner. When you open the cover, the screen, keyboard, and trackpad match the gorgeous exterior. The trackpad is a bit larger than a standard trackpad and you have the option of using more two, three, and four finger gestures. This type of function is very similar to what you get with a touchscreen device, such as a mobile phone or tablet. Since I’m very accustomed to that, I felt right at home. DISPLAY: This laptop does not come with a pen, but the monitor is a touchscreen. This is one feature that I wish my other laptop had because I mistakenly touch the screen so many times when I move between my phone, tablet, and laptop. I found that the screen was very responsive and it didn’t seem to get too dirty with fingerprints. The screen resolution is 2880 x 1800, which is Full HD and actually treads into 2K territory (anything between 1440 and 2160 is considered 2K). The specs actually classify it as 3K, which isn’t widely recognized. The aspect ratio is 16:10, which is slightly bigger than standard widescreen. I viewed 4K video content from YouTube on this laptop and thought it was gorgeous. The screen is reflective and if you try to take a picture of its screen while turned off, you will get a reflection of yourself in the shot. With a brightness of 500 nits, the it’s very easy to read and edit documents as well as images on this display. With it being an OLED HDR screen, visuals are very impressive. You get a high color depth and very vibrant images. SOUND PERFORMANCE: I was very impressed with the power and sound quality of these speakers. They are Harmon/Kardon speakers and the computer is equipped with Dolby Atmos as a sound profile. I listened to some music using YouTube Music and blown away by how powerful the speakers are. For most sound, I comfortable listening at a level of 10, but for testing purposes, I bumped the volume up to 24 and 50 (I discovered that the volume increases and decreased by increments of 2). At 50, it was almost too loud for me — especially with it sitting right next to me. I found that I had a slightly different experience when I played a movie using Disney+. I had to turn the volume up to 50 in order to hear all the details I wanted to hear while watching the intro sequence to Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2. I used an app on my phone (Sound Level Meter) to measure the loudness of the speakers. First I captured some ambient noise, which measured around 27dBA. Then, I listened to music at the two levels I mentioned. The average dBA level was 33.5 with a max level of 79.2. The meter divides sound levels into four colored segments - blue (quiet), green (speech), yellow (noise), and red (danger). For the most part the volume level was in the green area, but when the music peaked at a high point (at 50% volume on the laptop), the level bounced into the yellow area. With the movie playing at 50%, I got a max level of 58.5 dBA and a minimum level of 25.2 dBA. It barely bounced into the yellow area. BATTERY: Out of the box, the laptop did not power on until I plugged it into power. It did, however, immediately show that it was at 60% battery level after set up was completed. I charged the laptop to 100% and then ran it down to 3% by playing a constant stream of 4K video streaming on YouTube. The screen brightness was turned up to 100% but the volume was turned down to 0%. The backlighting on the keyboard was also turned off and no other tasks were running other than YouTube on Chrome. I started this test at noon and at 11:44pm the computer finally shutdown due to lack of power. It took less than two hours to charge it back to full power with 30% battery life gained in just under 30 minutes. NETWORK: To test the network performance, I ran Ookla’s Speed Test using Chrome. The download speed was 814.95 Mbps and the upload speed was 724.87 Mbps and the ping was 13. This was using an AT&T Fiber connection with a Netgear RAXE500 Tri-Band WiFi 6E Router. PERFORMANCE: When it comes to performance, I will say that standard real-world tests passed with flying colors. I did a variety of tasks including surfing the internet, editing photos (just using Paint), and notepad/word processing tasks. I set the laptop up as a new PC and customized the experience for business and creativity as it seemed to match the specs of the computer the best. I did decline the trial offers of Office 365 and Xbox Game Pass. When it came to search settings, I turned off search highlights and the work or school account options. Then, I turned off the Microsoft Start feed in the Widget area. Once those setup tasks were completed, I completed the Windows updates. For the most part, this was a pretty standard setup process for me, but I did note that after the second reboot, I got a notification that ASUS needed to do a Firmware update on the Bios. I completed that with no issues, but a couple of days later, I had to do it again. There weren’t any issues with these updates, but it was strange to me since I’ve not encountered that before. After finishing setup and updates, I restarted the computer and immediately ran Task Manager to see how many computing tasks were running. There were 186 tasks running - most of which were system-based. There were 68 background processes and Task Manager reported that 3% CPU, 22% Memory, and 1% Disk was being used for these processes. I did several benchmarking tests on this laptop when I first got it (Geekbench, Geekbench AI, GFX Bench, and Cinebench) to check out its general performance ranking. I admit that I was a little confused about this machine’s place in the market since it has all high-end components except for the entry-level GPU. The tests I ran provided some valuable insights. Cinebench - Cinebench is a benchmarking tool used to evaluate the performance of a computer's CPU and GPU. It primarily measures the processing power of the CPU by rendering a complex 3D scene, which tests the CPU's ability to handle multi-core and single-core workloads. The resulting score reflects the CPU's performance, with higher scores indicating better processing capability. Single-Core Score 113pts; Multi-Core Score 713pts. This ranked it along size Apple M1 Max and Apple M1 Ultra processors, which are powerful, but are two generations behind the current chipset for that ecosystem. GFXBench - I ran the high-level and render tests. The results were: Aztec Ruins OpenGL (High Tier) 3721.82 Frames 4K Aztec Ruins OpenGL (High Tier) Offscreen 2362.31 Frames Render Quality (high precision) 3927.92 mB PSNR This means the Zenbook’s GPU will perform similar to a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 or NVIDIA GeForce 1050 Ti. Geekbench - Geekbench provides an easy-to-understand score that allows users to compare the performance of different CPUs and devices across various tasks, ranging from everyday applications to more demanding computational workloads. The Geekbench CPU score was 1606 single-core / 8363 multi-core and the GPU score was 26656. One additional test I ran was to see how quickly the laptop would compress a 4K video file. I used a 4K H.264 video file that is 10 minutes 15 seconds long and added it to Handbrake. Then I used the Fast 1080p30 preset to complete the conversion. The file was converted in approximately 12 minutes. Overall, the ASUS Zenbook S exceeded my expectations. I wish that it had a more powerful GPU so that it could also be used for gaming, but it’s a fantastic laptop that can used for nearly any type of task.

I've been searching for a personal laptop for over a year. I've tried and returned many machines - both PC laptops and Macbooks. But I think I finally found a keeper in the Asus Zenbook S 16. Why? It's a very light, aesthetically pleasing 16-inch laptop with a 120hz 3K OLED screen, a comfortable keyboard, a smooth trackpad, good-sounding speakers, 24GB of memory, a decent webcam, solid battery life, and a brand-new powerful AI processor—all for a GREAT price. There aren't many laptops that check all these boxes. It's not perfect—I even had to exchange it for a new one because of some issues I was experiencing—but given that there isn't much on the market like this laptop that runs X86 - and I didn't want a Snapdragon X laptop due to ARM compatibility issues - I had to give it another shot. And I'm glad I did. So, what issues did I initially run into? First, the unit I originally had ran incredibly hot. I read that there was a BIOS update to fix this, but even after applying it, it still felt unreasonably warm, even when doing simple things like watching videos. Additionally, while watching YouTube videos, there would be a screen glitch across the entire browser window every so often, which was annoying. Lastly, when I watched video content using my Galaxy Buds Pro 2 Bluetooth earbuds, the sound was delayed, which didn't match the words. Given that most major Tech YouTubers had nothing but praise for this machine, and it checked all my boxes—I thought I might have just gotten a defective laptop. So I returned it for a new one. I'm happy to report that I'm experiencing NONE of the above issues. There is very little heat aside from when you're charging it, and that's because it's so thin. Under regular use, it runs very cool to the touch. There's also no Bluetooth audio lag and no screen glitching. I haven't tried any video editing on it, but from what I've seen, simple 4K video edits using something like Clipchamp or CapCut should be fine. Obviously, if you want to do any major video editing, you should look at a laptop with a dedicated video card. My only complaint is that the trackpad isn't as tight as I'd like it to be. It's hard to explain, but you'll sometimes hear a little noise/rattle when you tap to click (instead of a full press.) It's nothing I can't live with, and the click when you fully push down is satisfying. Again, this may be a minor quality control issue, but it's one I can live with, given how great everything else is. So, in summary, after a year of searching and using MacBooks, Windows x86 Laptops (Core Ultra Series 1), and even the new Snapdragon X Windows laptops, the Asus Zenbook S 16 is by far the best laptop I've ever used - and that's even after having to return it for a new one. Usually, if I have to return a laptop, I never go back to it, but this one felt special, and the number of issues didn't match the reviews I was reading and watching. So, I had to give it a second chance. I'm glad I did.

ASUS - Zenbook S 16 16” 3K OLED Touch Screen Laptop, AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 - 24GB Memory - 1TB SSD - Scandinavian White Before getting into my review, I want to mention that after your initial setup, run the MyASUS software to make sure you have the latest BIOS. Early BIOS had some thermal management issues under workload. It is also my recommendation that if you are going to do high-load tasks, a laptop cooler would be a good investment, as the system can still get warm. ASUS's Zenbook S 16 has an AMD Ryzen AI 9365 processor composed of four standard Zen 5 cores and six Zen 5C cores, an 880M integrated GPU with 12 compute units, and an integrated AI neural processing unit rated at up to 50 trillion operations per second. Scandinavian White units have a stunning “Ceraluminum” finish, a fusion of ceramic to an aluminum surface, creating a light, unique matte texture. It is too bad it is only on the lid of the unit. The unit is a good meld of performance and portability. It measures only half an inch thick, with thin bezels on all sides. It is under 14 inches wide and only 3.3 pounds in weight. The 16” 3K OLEd touch screen has a beautiful picture that is sharp, vibrant, and has a good touch response. The keyboard is spacious and center-aligned but lacks a numpad. The keys are large, feel comfortable, and are intuitive in their use and performance. It has a useable backlight that performs adequately but only offers a couple of brightness settings and the only color is white. The keys have good travel and are soft and quiet. It worked quite well at typing accurately at a fast rate. The touchpad is huge at about 6 inches wide. It is responsive, and unlike other touchpads, I had no issues with unintended inputs. The camera in the lid provides a means of Biometric login. Since there is not a fingerprint reader, Windows Hello facial recognition fills this gap. The camera's low-light ability helps in darker settings. This provides a quick, secure way to log in without typing a password or PIN. Presence detection is supported so the laptop can be locked or the screen turned off when you step away. There is not a privacy shutter. Power: I like the fact that the laptop comes with a small USB-C power brick that is almost the size of one that you would use for a Phone or Tablet instead of a huge brick-size power converter. The battery is a modest 78Watt-hour battery—it is hard to squeeze in a lot of battery into a small, thin laptop. Battery life is good, though. I achieved a 13.5-hour life when I looped a 4K-sized film of the latest Terminator movie. And boy do you enjoy the quality of a dark movie on an OLED screen. Communication: Because of its compact size, it has a good selection of ports. The left side has an HDMI 2.1 port, a pair of USB-C ports (USB4), and an auto combo jack. The right side is equipped with a USB 3.2 Type-A port and a full-size microSD slot. It comes with WiFi7 and Bluetooth 5.4 The Dolby Atmos has good sound with a 6-speaker Harmon/ Kardon system, but because of the size and power of the speakers, the volume for, say, watching a surround-sound movie is just adequate. I use a headset to get the true emersion I crave. Performance is there for most non-gaming things, but for gaming, you should limit yourself to low-rez older games. The AI features are minimal with Copilot, Paint, and StoryCube, and you can notice a performance boost in these apps with the AI hardware, but from what I have read, Microsoft is planning to include many of the AI features of CoPilot Plus PCs with Snapdragon processor laptops to AMD Ryzen AI laptops around the end of 2024 or the first quarter of 2025. But we all know how promises are on unreleased software. The ASUS Zenbook S 16 is a good midrange laptop that does well at most things but only works minimally for games. It is thin, light, and has a great keyboard, OLED touchscreen, and touchpad.

My experience with the S16 has been pretty phenomenal. I picked this laptop up mostly for word processing and web browsing with some photo editing on the side. The S16 handles it all incredibly well. Coming from a high end gaming laptop, the performance on this device is nothing to look down on. The battery life was my main concern. I am studying for the bar exam and will spend anywhere from five to eight hours a day at the local cafe to get my studies in. Oftentimes outlets are hard to come by. I find on a full charge I easily make it through the day. The hardware is also fantastic. I am very picky about my keyboards but find this one to be a joy to type on. The screen is bright and vibrant and the backlight is also nice and bright. I personally don't ever use the touchscreen and wouldn't recommend it because of how prone to fingerprints the screen is. The outer shell is beautiful - more of a work of art than a laptop. I do have some problems with the S16 that are worth mentioning. The screen is beautiful and vibrant, but very prone to reflections and fingerprints. I wish there was a different coating ASUS would have applied, but it's not the end of the world. The screen also does not tilt back very far. If you are sitting at a desk then it is no problem, but if you are ever reclining or hunched over it and need the screen to go back further, you'll find yourself tipping the entire laptop to get the right angle. Pros: Great performance Great battery life (I almost never find myself hunting for outlets) Beautiful hardware Incredibly slim profile Great feeling keyboard Beautiful screen Cons: Screen glare Screen articulation

Pros: Smooth processor, beautiful display, lightweight, aesthetically appealing good (not great) battery Cons: Would be awesome as a 2 in 1. Touchpad functions like dim or volume control too sensitive. No fingerprint reader. A little slower than it should be. -Gets intermittently warm, but the firmware throttling prevents it from getting too hot at the expense of some CPU power. -Drawing on the screen is not as intuitive as lets say a Galaxy Book Pro, close, but not as good. I want to love this laptop. But I am in heavy like right now. At the right price it is a steal though. Gets much better reviews than the one with the HX370 cpu, so aa tempting as it would be to try that one, this is the sweetspot. If it had a 2 in 1 form, I would be 100% sold. Either way, it is solid "A minus". You shouldnt be disappointed especially if you buy it onsale.

Firstly the laptop came nicely packaged and protected which is a big concern today. Unboxing was straight forward and I was impressed with the beautiful packaging and the box felt higher end. Inside we have the laptop and the charger and what was really cool is the charger doesn’t require a charging brick so that’s a huge plus because I bought this for work and carry it inside my backpack that travels with me daily. Turning it on I was impressed with the backlighting on the keyboard and the beautiful screen that is much bigger than my previous laptops. Logging into windows was easy but it took awhile for data to transfer and I’m not sure if that was a windows issue or an asus issue. I’ve never bought a computer with this type of processor so I wasn’t really worried about it handling what I was going to throw at it which is basic everyday use. I need it for spreadsheets and word documents etc and usually I’ll have 5-6 internet tabs open for other various task. It handles no problem and the speakers are louder then other computers I’ve owned which is great because I listen to calls incoming to our retail stores and have issues with other laptops if my wife is cooking or the TV is on in the background. The 3k screen is beautiful. The only thing that I don’t like about this laptop is it gets very hot. That’s why only 4 stars. Then then that I’m very happy with this laptop and would recommend

Before I purchased this I was concerned about reviews citing stability issues, heat, and low performance. First, once you're at the Windows desktop, run the MyAsus application and let it update all the software - including the BIOS. The updated BIOS solves most of the problems. Given how thin this laptop is, it will run a little toasty. Surface temperatures are very reasonable for the surfaces you use; I was expecting much worse based on reviews, this is nothing. If you touch the speaker grille at the top of the deck, that gets hot, but under normal use you should never need to touch that region of the laptop. Fan noise under the Standard Mode is reasonable; Whisper Mode is as advertised and for most users should be the default operating mode. The other two higher power modes are mostly pointless; they increase fan speed but not the power limits of the processor, so there's no real performance improvement. Performance is excellent given the weight, noise, and heat, and some light gaming is even possible in the Standard Mode. For a point of reference, gaming performance is about on par with an ROG Ally handheld, and better than a Steam Deck. Be sure to set the video memory allocation to 8GB. This laptop proved to be exactly what I was looking for: it's light, it's well built, the keyboard is surprisingly comfortable, touchpad has a smooth glass surface, the OLED screen is beautiful, and it's very performant given its size and weight. It features modern I/O like WiFi 7 and USB4, and it's powered off of USB-C (be sure to use a charger and - this is important - cable rated for 65W). And a pleasant surprise: the speakers are very good, especially given how thin this laptop is. I don't think the higher spec version of this laptop with the Ryzen AI 9 370 HX and 32GB of memory is actually worth the upsell; the RAM isn't strictly necessary and the 28W power limit means any performance improvements are going to be minimal. And that version doesn't come in the gorgeous Scandinavian White finish. Now here's what sucks: - The finish on the OLED display is very glossy, reflections are bothersome, and *anything* on the surface will refract. You will need to keep it clean. - Windows Hello login using the camera works about 50% of the time, and it lags. - The lid is beautiful and the texture is gorgeous but it's a fingerprint magnet. - There's still a little jank. I haven't had issues with it staying asleep or waking up, but there have been odd times where the display brightness keys stop working correctly and the brightness is dim. Rebooting fixes the issue. This is more or less the laptop I've been looking for: big, bright, beautiful screen, very low weight, powered by USB-C, can play games in a pinch. I do think ASUS probably could've increased the power limits in Performance Mode a little, another 5W or so; there's some juice left in the tank with the cooling system. But it's still ample for what I need. If you know what you're getting into - an ultralight ultraportable laptop is not going to set the world on fire with performance and it's going to be a little warm - this is an excellent system.

I'm giving this laptop 3 stars for the screen alone. I can also run multiple tabs on Chrome without an issue. Unfortunately, the second I open up anything else, like Word or Powerpoint, it begins to overheat VERY intensely. If I plug the charger into it, the screen goes black for a few seconds - same when unplugging - and it continues to flash periodically, making it unusuable while charging. If I am resting my left hand onto the base below the keyboard, it affects the touchpad and starts highlighting my words or moving webpages as if I clicked on them. Lastly, the sound works when it wants to and I sometimes have to restart the entire computer to get it to work. This is very unacceptable for a brand new laptop. I did all the BIOS updates that the manufacturer suggested would resolve these issues. I'm returning it. I really wanted to love this and am so incredibly disappointed as the screen and build are absolutely stunning. The speed is great as well for simple browsing, but this is supposed to be an efficient computer for multitasking and studying. It is not.

My daughter got accepted in law school and she needed a new laptop. My wife and I decided that she needed a really good one and that is why we chose to look at Best Buy. Not only does Best Buy carry a large selection of laptop computers but they also have Retail Sales Associates that has worked with all of them and are very knowledgeable about their products. We happened to get one of those Retail Sales Associates when my daughter was trying to decide. She really liked the Lenovo, however, since the particular computer that she wanted was on back order due to it's popularity, she was kind of lost. That is until a kind sales associate stepped in and told her that he really liked the ASUS Zenbook S 16. Not only did he explain all of the various features, he took my daughter over to the laptop to see all of them. We were all amazed by how light the Zenbook was and could not believe all of the different amenities that came with the computer. The biggest thing for my daughter, which not a whole lot of people think about, is all of the USB, HDMI and other ports that were on the computer. The Zenbook is packed with all kinds of different high-definition multimedia interface ports and it had every one that she needed and wanted. The screen on the Zenbook was amazing and it was super fast. My daughter definitely wanted this computer and the only thing that was standing in the way was waiting for the popular associate to finish with other customers so that we could purchase it. Once my daughter got the computer home, she called us to tell us every feature that it presented and how excited that she was. She definitely knew that she purchased (well dad purchased) the best computer with all the gadgets she needed and could not thank the sales associate enough. Her and my wife also went back a week later to get a great printer and was lucky enough to have the same sales associate again attend to their needs. He was wonderful and dedicated to his job. The best thing that happened after the sale, was my daughter calling me to tell me she loved me and thanking me for getting her such a nice laptop. That really made my day. It even got better as I was able to price match with Best Buy a week later and get a much much lower price which was reflected on my Best Buy credit card. We definitely made the right choice and the right store.

The good: The display is beautiful, and the keyboard feels great. The exterior made of "ceraluminum" looks and feels so much better than black plastic (but see below). The CPU and graphics can handle professional tasks (Matlab, CAD software) easily and no doubt most games would run fine, although it will get hot if you push it for long periods. The not-so good: - The exterior is slightly porous and in the first week I spilled a drop of ketchup on it and cannot get the stain out completely - it is now covered by a sticker. :( - The 24GB of RAM is adequate but is soldered to the board so can never be upgraded. - The backlit keyboard illuminates the main characters but barely lights up the upper shifted ones (e.g. %, &, ", ?) and the contrast gets worse the brighter the keys (there are 3 brightness levels), so a few times I had to guess that ^ is above the 6 key, etc. - I am glad it has a headphone jack and HDMI because the one USB-A port is taken up by my wireless mouse receiver, and one USB-C by the power cord, leaving only one open USB-C connector. The SD card slot is nice but you have to buy a "shallow" adapter (for a Macbook) so that it does not stick out too far.

Pros -The oled, contrast, brightness, and detail are great. My first oled laptop, hope theres no burn in issues down the line. -The battery seems to last a good while -Boots up fast, can be quick at times - Good sound - Ceraluminum material makes the laptop feel nice and durable* - Charges fast via Usb C, the charging brick is a smaller square block than my prev pc Cons - Can get warm, especially when plugged in but, what laptop doesnt?! - Keyboard keys are too squishy and feel like they will wear out soon. Only time will tell - my Zenbook, has a creaking sound on the top left, when picked up, opened, or moved. Don't know why, cant see anything wrong but, this is a little annoying/worrrisome - I did experience severe screen flickering and glitching, flashing from the screen when the screen saver came on. The laptop shut off randomly once, and the usb port had stopped working once. I think this happened before all Windows and Asus updates including bios. Haven't had this happen again. I hope it stays that way. - while doing creative work like video or photo editing, the laptop does stutter and has crashed more times than i have liked. This is unacceptable given the specs this laptop has. I have not overworked it in anyway. This happens kinda often and its annoying. - wish it had 1 more USB A port and , mini fully insertable SD Card slot (not one that requires the bigger sd adpater and it sticks out half way) Its hard to find a laptop with these specs for the price i paid. Costs for PCs are getting ridiculous. Overall, the negative issues ive had are concerning and i would normally return it, but, comparatively, theres not much better out there for around the same cost. If the freezes and crashes stop, then this laptop would be perfect. Asus, please create more durable and tactile keyboard keys. These keys, are too soft, push in too much, and make it cumbersome and weird to type on. Not something i expected on the Zenbook line.

The Zenbook S 16 is a near perfect device, with one huge (hot) problem. The build quality on this device is very good, and the white finish is quite nice on it. The screen is fantastic (high refresh rate, good brightness, OLED contrast), the performance is snappy and the laptop should have no trouble keeping up for the next couple of years. Battery life is pretty good in normal use, and the laptop has good port selection. I also like the large trackpad as well. The one major flaw with this laptop is that it gets extremely hot to the touch when doing anything more than general use. Download a file? Run a game? This thing gets very, very hot to the touch on the underside between your lap. Just be mindful if you plan to do performance work that way. Outside of that, during general use it remains cool enough and the fans are fairly quiet. This is a great laptop for anyone who wants a premium experience, excellent build quality, and lots of features, as long as you can get over the heating up.

I'll get the Pros out of the first. PROS: Beautiful 16"/120hz/ 2.8k display (3k with Asus rounding up). One of the nicest OLED panels I've seen on a laptop without the dreaded screen-door effect found on some touch panels. Build Quality: All aluminum chassis that uses a special heat treatment to create a cermic like durable finish on the lid cheekily called Ceraluminum. Sound: Audio quality is top notch after tweaking in the Dolby Atmos app by setting it to Dynamic. This will let DA use the proper EQ for the source material and make for a great listening experience. Keyboard/Trackpad: Low travel chicklet style keyboard makes for a satisfying typing experience. The touchpad is massive offering great gesture recognition as well as some additional functionality (also a CON). (Left edge) Can be used for raising and lowering the volume. (Top Edge) Let's you scroll through videos (Right side) Can adjust screen brightness Battery Life: In normal usage (Youtube/Google Docs/Dozens of tabs open) I was able to get around 12 hours of usage while still having aboit 15% left before throwing it back on the charger. Now lets get to the cons of which there are a few and for some they may be deal breakers. CONS: Display: While a truly stunning and performing it uses PWM (flickering the backlight) at a frequency of 480hz. This helps for smoother motion on the display, but at around 30% brightness is was slightly noticeable. Keep in mind that not everyone is susceptible to seeing flicker and I'm usually not, but for some reason it was apparent. Now seldom lower the backlight that low, but the wife was proofreading a project I'm working on and she lowered it and mentioned it. Trackpad: I simply mention this because the additional gesture features mentioned in the PROS come with CONS as well. In practice their usage can be a little hit or miss with their precision. Their inclusion can cause issues with normal usage if you accidentally brush across the area the backlight or volume may adjust irradicically. [This feature can be switched off in settings and you can simply use the function keys to adjust.] RAM: While the base model with the HX365 Zen 5 chip comes with 24, it is soldered therefore not upgradeable. For near every average consumer this will likely be enough for the foreseeable future, but for creatives it may be an issue down the line. Heat: This is the final and likely most significant if you use it on anything other than a desk. Even during normal useage the keyboard deck can get very warm to the touch and the bottom can get uncomfortable after a short time on your lap. I have troubleshot all these issues and updated every piece of software available to attempt to improve some of the trouble spots. AMD could easily optimize Zen 5 to be more efficient, but Asus's cooling solution may still not be able to handle it with such a thin and light chassis. I was so excited for the new AMD 9 Ai series laptops, but this is more of a reflection on Asus who in the past few years have had an issue with engineering. It may simply be a matter of style over substance and another manufacturer might pull both off.

Great laptop overall. Vibrant screen with good colors. Bright enough for indoor use. Fast and responsive in Windows. Very lightweight and good portability. The AI functions are still a mystery to me. Not sure of how this laptop is AI vs one that isn't AI. Keyboard keys are too shallow, but gets the job done. Take note that there is no CTRL key on the right side, which is annoying. After 3 months, the screen started glitching for 1 week until it would not turn on. Now I have to send it in for warranty repair. Never had this happen on any of my numerous other laptops.

My daughter likes this laptop. Overall, it works really well. Unfortunately, the "right" arrow key broke and it is not replaceable. The key still functions, it just has a vertical break in the middle of the key. Not sure how it broke. The screen is clear, and it is fast enough for her.
