    Great phone for the price

This phone is a great budget phone. I've been having this phone for about a month now and at first it gave me some trouble because it died on the first day i got it and i left it to charge and once it was fully charged i unplugged it and it started to attempt to turn on but melt turning off and attempting once again to turn on and so fourth. It did that for about an hour and once i resited it everything was good. I never had that problem again. I like this phone allot. The back camera is good but the front camera could be better. The finger print scanner is fast and accurate. It has many great little gems such as the bluelight filter function, built in VPN, power and boost, and one hand operation not to mention smart gestures with the finger print scanner. I would recommend popping in an SD card for extra space because it does come with a fair amount of bloatware. I use this phone to watch videos on YouTube, watch Netflix, and play Sims and I don't see any lag. The speaker has an "outdoor mode" so it does get loud. The quality of the pictures is good. The battery life can easily get me through the day and well into the night. This phone comes work an otg cable adapter which is amazing cause if any of my other devices need charging I could use the juice from my zenfone to charge up another device. All in all I think the only downside to this phone is all the bloatware and the mediocre front camara.

I have had my ZenFone 3 Max for about a week. I am really enjoying my phone. The fingerprint scanner is very quick and convenient. All apps run very smoothly. Both cameras, I think, work very well. This phone has incredible battery life. The phone is well built and feels good in your hands. I had the hardest time deciding between, this and the Moto g4. The ZenFone 3 Max just felt more sturdy and better built. You can’t to wrong with this phone.

    Great price point phone

Great phone for the price point. I spent $200 plus a warranty. I've owned the phone for over a month. Only 2 complaints so far. The phone does not come with headphones and there seems to be an intermittent issue with my mic. This will be resolved when I take it up for the warranty. Otherwise this phone is spot on with everything IMO. If you cringe at the thought of spending $600+ on a phone, but need a decent smart phone, here it is. Buying my husband one for christmas.

Don't do it... Bottom of the barrel...

I bought this phone as a temporary phone while my Samsung was being fixed. All I can say is that this phone is the biggest piece of junk I have ever used. Just so that readers understand this is not my first phone... I have owned a Samsung Galaxy S, S4, A7 2016, A7 2017...and now I have owned the ZEN PHONE. I have no idea how some people are giving this phone 4 and 5 stars, indicating is it great, with some saying it is fast, etc. The phone is SUPER-SLOW. It literally takes 4 seconds to open an app. (The phone locks up constantly and has apps crashing.) What else can I say? It's just horribly under-powered and the software is poorly written (I know because I write software for phones). One would probably be be much better off with a cheap Galaxy like the J7 or something else...anything else. I like Asus products, but this Zen Phone is just bottom of the barrel. I am not a really demanding person, but using this phone has been a very frustrating experience, just using it on a day-to-day basis. Not only would I not recommend this to a friend, I wouldn't recommend it to an enemy. Sorry Asus! I don't want to bash your phone, but I am compelled to do so because of the unbelievably poor quality.

Worked OK, camera is just OK and it is slower than high end Samsung's etc but that I expected at this price. After a couple of months though WiFi stopped working rendering it quite useless. After reading some of the other reviews here this is obviously a larger issue and may need to be recalled. ASUS will not even troubleshoot the issue which again leads me to wonder. The RMA process is long and involved you will be without your phone for weeks possibly. Then there is no guarantee you will not get a phone with the same and other issues. Save yourself the aggravation. This is my first experience with ASUS I am disappointed.

Switching from Apple to Asus phone

I found myself needing a cheap-ish phone for the meantime and I chose this one. I'm a hardcore Apple fan, but this phone completely changed my perspective on Android products. It has great features, very easy to use, AND I haven't had a problem with the much different interface than I'm used to with iOS. However, both cameras are a bit disappointing. Not a big deal for me though because I rarely take pictures or video. If you're looking for good camera quality, don't get this phone. The sound quality is ok. The fact that the speakers are on the back of the phone is a tad annoying but you get used to it real quick. Honestly I wasn't expecting much out if this phone cut I was very pleasantly surprised.

Good phone, not a good way to sell

I like the phone. The design is sleek, the size is right. It's a solid build in a low-end spectrum, which is getting more and more common in my opinion. The camera, the battery, the screen, etc. are at least acceptable at this price point. However, the only thing I don't like about this phone is the size of the internal memory, 16GB. 32GB ROM shouldn't be around anymore, let alone 16GB. Not a great way to lower price on a good phone. Not a fault of the phone, but of Asus.

    Good, But Dislike for Snapchat

I've been looking at this phone for a while but was scared to order it. I actually found and bought the phone at Best Buy. I really LOVE the phone, but I do not like the way the camera looks on Snapchat. I wish I could've seen a comment like this about the phone before, but you can't know about everything unless you actually have the product. It's a really great phone, I just don't like the quality of pictures or videos on Snapchat.

    unreliable

I've hated this phone ever since I bought it. The camera on it sucks, straight out. It does not take decent pictures. The phone writes messages by itself, as if possessed, and sometimes it even sends them. The screen becomes unresponsive and all the tapping in the world won't make it work. You have to turn it off and wait for it to reboot, back on again for the screen to be responsive again. The contacts just disappear, at any given time, for no reason. You have to turn it off and back on again to get the contacts back again. Sometimes I have to do that about 15 times in a day. If you receive a call while the contacts are out, then it won't show who is calling. The phone comes loaded with apps - most of which I never use, and don't want. All those apps take up storage space and if you delete any of them, the phone automatically adds a replacement, which takes up storage space. I constantly get a message warning me that storage space is running out. So, don't plan on keeping many pictures or adding many apps that you actually want because there is NOT enough storage space for anything except the many apps that come on the phone. It's not just me. Anyone who has ever used my phone has commented, negatively, on its "quirks." I hate this phone. Poverty is the reason I haven't replaced it. I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone unless quirky unreliability is what you're looking for.

good until you can get something else

I did quite a bit of research before I bought this phone, and all the reviews seemed pretty positive. I've only ever used Windows Phones which are still the best in my opinion. However, I wanted to be apart of the world again and I missed snapchat and not having to use 3rd party apps. This phone was good, I only spent 130 bucks! However after a few months things started going wrong, the processor cannot keep up. Supposedly this phone has a good battery? WRONG. SO WRONG. It has a reverse charging capability, but idk when you would ever use that since the battery barely lasts a full work day, so thats about 5 hours open screen time. Sad. Speakers are awful, do not use this phone for your alarm clock, I learned the hard way. Camera is not very good either. Looks terrible in low light and does not interface with the snapchat camera well at all. Everyone would ask me, why is your camera so dark? The videos lag and do this twitch thing. I've only had this phone for 5 months and its bugging out. It's stuck on reverse charge mode, so the phone won't charge while it's on. There's no way to fix it either, I checked all the forums. ASUS has terrible support. I'm all for supporting the little guys and I really liked the look of the phone, but i will never buy an ASUS phone again. I'm going to try out motorola and see how they do. Pros Cheap, what you pay for is what you get Cons Hyped up features that don't even work well Bottom line, every phone is great for the first month, so you have to give phones a few months before they show their colors. If you need something fast and cheap until you can get something better, this phone is fine. But it won't last you very long so start saving your money!

    Way too slow. for anything

At first I liked this phone. It seemed quick, the fingerprint scanner worked good, and I was happy. That only lasted a couple of weeks. I purchased this as a temporary phone until I could get a more full-featured phone. It hasn't made the cut even in that regard. Here are my cons: Extremely SLOW. I mean so slow that I have been unable to answer phone calls in time. So slow that facebook videos have an extremely hard time loading. Wanna switch from portrait to landscape while watching a video? You better set a few minutes of your time aside! I do not have any memory hungry apps. Banking, social media, etc. No games, nothing graphically demanding. The 2 GB of memory just does not cut it with their flavor of Android on there. Whenever I check the memory usage, Android OS is sitting at 1.8gb and it always says I have 0 available. With nothing running but the OS. I could not and would not recommend this to a friend. I've had a cheap $150 Asus laptop I use for traveling for over two years that still puts this phone to shame. Disappointed in Asus on this one. This dud isn't even worth the extremely low $150 price point.

Just got the phone. Looks good. Breeze to setup. Asus UI is sleek. Ability to turn off background apps is nice feature from Asus. Decently responsive. The included pin (Asus logo-ed pin) to eject the sim card holder is very subtle and useful. Note that bestbuy product description is misleading/false. It does not have headset in the package.
