I have to say that I am pretty disappointed with this phone. It was advertised at the Best Buy location to receive LTE which it does not. Trust me, I went through every single setting possible. Did every update available as I am rather knowledgeable with phones.
Aesthetically, it's a good looking device. There is a lack of information all over the internet as far as the actual specs on this device. What this phone DOES NOT have out of the box:
Android 8.0
USB Type C
The camera is mediocre, it takes decent video at 1080p60fps, but the 4K option is washed out and pretty awful. Photos are pretty washed out and even grainy, even after going through multiple camera settings. This phone has a decent display though. Honestly at the $300 price point, I was expecting a little more bang for my buck. Yes, I understand that this is SUPPOSED to be a mid-range device, yet it doesn't even come close to other mid-range devices I own. The phone OS is clunky and seems to lag quite a bit as well. Especially while multitasking even at a minimum as I do not use social media, or game with my phones. Talk, text, email and light web browsing with the occasional YouTube video watch. I highly recommend staying away from this phone. My advice, purchase a Huawei Mate SE for half the cost of the Asus Zenfone 5Q. You won't regret the Huawei as I regret purchasing the Asus ZenFone 5Q. It is a shame, I really wanted to like this phone.

The phone looks beautiful, but lacks of LTE on Cricket/AT&T you get just 4g and H+ when you are making calls...this is unacceptable right now on top of that forget about android 8.0 they skipped saying that they will be sending Android P next year! The lag in this phone is crazy, the UI is super heavy and not optimized for this phone . The camera is no so great and is extremely bad in low light the wide camera loos like a 5mp super bad quality...
Note: not wifi calling or Volte On AT&T/Cricket also and not band 30

I purchased my Asus Zenfone 5Q 64GB back in August. I happen to use AT & T, and my phone has been unable to reliably connect to my AT&T network. I have missed calls and received texts hours after they were sent. More recently, the phone is at times not connecting to AT &T at all when I am at home. Returning the phone. Good thing I bought a one-year Geek Squad protection plan. Never buying an unlocked phone again.

Terrible camera

Looks good, has dual sim + memory card support. This could be a go for it phone, but the camera is absolutely terrible. Low light performance of the camera is very bad – totally dark, all pictures (both with front and back cam) are grainy which made it not worth. Updated to latest firmware to check if the camera issue is addressed, but no use. For a model released in mid 2018 did not expect this.
