    Thin, light, but 1gb RAM makes painfully slow!

    Most of the issues I have with this phone come from changes to Android (missing features Google has deemed "inappropriate" now, nesting settings menu items many levels deep, etc.), but this phone just doesn't have enough RAM to get out of its own way. You'll select something and expect it to go there, but it waits..., and waits..., while you select it again thinking it didn't get the memo, but then it will select the next item to pop up AFTER your first selection, like it's always playing catch up. I went back to an older phone with twice the RAM.

    buyer beware

    so first I would like to say that this is a fairly nice phone for the price, but I will warn you, it has major known issues. it likes to turn itself off for no reason all the time. there are workarounds and if you do them its not bad. the one I found was to put two sim cards in it. as long as it has two sim cards, even if one is inactive, it will work just fine. some other people on here have said that if you leave it in 3g mode that it will work with one card. best buy should warn people before they buy this phone that this problem exists.

I would highly recommend that you go into the Settings and check for any available firmware updates. You can also try wiping the cache partition. This can be done by powering off the phone. Once it is off, press and hold the volume down key and then the power key. After the device vibrates, release power key (keep holding volume down key) to enter recovery mode. Select "wipe cache partition" using the volume down key (or volume up key), and then press power key. You can also back up the data stored on your phone and use the following FAQ to complete a factory reset: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1006347/.     This phone is cheap, and it really shows. The low RAM means having more than one app open can cause problems across the phone, assuming it can handle one app running in the first place. That in combination with Android GO as a lacking OS overall the phone generally does not run well, and anyone changing from a more expensive phone to this will be disappointed by the performance overall. I will say that the phone is durable, and while not extremely reliable it works often enough for someone who doesn't rely on their phone too often. If you or someone you know need a smart phone and very rarely need the "smart" features this may be a good choice, but for anyone else give this a pass.

    Risky; Be careful! Requires tools and patience!

    Sim card so difficult to get to. Sim card tray seems flimsy. The phone itself seems sufficient. I will be very cautious of best buy products after this....

    I bought this phone for use as a data hotspot while traveling in Europe. No issues with setting up phone or it turning off like others have said. However, it takes much longer to start up than my iPhone X. Also, the face recognition almost never works, so needing two hands to use the swipe or pattern unlock can be a pain. The worst part is the display screen. Asked about screen protector when I bought it, but was told there wasn’t one. I put the phone in my front pocket (where I’ve always put my phone). I pulled it out, and the screen is cracked all the way across. No drop, no hitting it, etc. I wouldn’t buy this again. I replaced a BLU XL phone that I couldn’t find before my trip. I’d definitely go back to the BLU. I’m afraid that this phone wouldn’t hold up to everyday use.

    Extremely unreliable

    I spent a lot of time playing around with the display model, before purchasing this phone. Unfortunately, my phone did not perform nearly as well as the display model. Regardless of the settings, the phone would constantly power off. Then, I would have to completely reboot the phone. Additionally, the phone would never go into sleep mode...just power completely off. Several phone calls to the Asus tech support proved unsuccessful. After attempting to reboot the phone in safe mode 3x, the reps finally instructed me to return the item. Another thing that I found very strange was that the default settings and display never corresponded to display model on the floor. Ended up returning the phone and purchasing a different brand, and now I couldn't be any happier.

    Nice phone but...

    I took my son for his first phone ever and it looked great, nice size, nice weight. We purchased it, left the store, and 100 feet down the road it turned off and didn't seem to want to turn back on. We went back, they plugged it in and got it to turn on and we left again. Since then it has turned off a couple times. I think we may have to return it for a different phone.

    I have been using the phone for the last 10 days and fell love with the phone. The phone is fast and even have face and blue tooth unlock. I have no issues with the phone. No random shutdowns. The screen is big and bright. The battery last more than one day with 6 hrs of screen time.

    This phone is a waste of money. It freezes a lot and requires constant restarting. Storage is not great. The phone has issues with Tmobile. Apps are not working properly. Would recommend the newer zenfones or apple products or Samsung. Paying a $100 for this phone is a joke, it's only worth $50

    Does not work with H2O

    The advert that it works with H2O is false. The phone keeps shutting down on its own with an H2O sim placed in it. If the H2O sim is removed the phone seems okay. Thus it is a waste of money if bought to use with H2O sim which was my aim.

    Excellent value for the money

    I'm using it for last few weeks. Works fine and fast enough. I use only few apps like whatsapp and 30% of memory (out of 16 GB) is consumed so far. Picture and video quality is not great, but ok.

    I have had this phone less than 24 hours and it has already started shutting down randomly. After about 30 minutes it will let me turn it back on. The phone will only stay powered on during 5-10 minutes of use before it shuts off again. I should have known better than to buy a phone this cheap. Returning to the store today to buy a more reputable phone.
