But I primarily bought it for an older MBP running Ubuntu and it works perfectly there. So long as you don't have one of the later Intel MBPs, I would say this is a pretty good additional screen.

Have you tried installing the Display Link Manager app? This APP enables you to use ASUS MB series monitor with a macOS system via USB. Please download and install it from the link below.

I wasn't told by the Best Buy rep that this product relies on a single cable for power and data delivery, and doesn't have an external power source or even a second port to plug one in. The monitor seems incompatible with my laptop and turns on and off unreliably while pop-ups show me that the device isn't receiving sufficient power. The ports I am using on my PC are the same ones that charge the PC. I can't believe I wasted $210 on this - and the return window is so short that it's very unlikely I will be able to return this item given my schedule. I don't know what's worse, the product itself or punishing return policy. I will not be shopping at Best Buy again.
