    Poor Performance, Broke Early

Started out looking like a good purchase. Turned out to be $150 very poorly spent. Using Google's Android Wear application and Google Now to dial phone numbers would cause all alert sounds to be killed until the phone was rebooted. Distance walked has become wildly inaccurate. Charging cable connection is unreliable. After the last time the watch fully discharged while "on the charger," because of that, the sound is dead. Won't come back even after a full factory reset. That's the last ASUS or Android Wear device I'll ever buy.

    Great Smartwatch

I've bought a few Smartwatches and have returned all of them. The Asus Zenwatch 2 is a great watch which I am keeping. With the new update you can take calls from the watch without touching your phone. Be aware that you have to get the bigger version of this watch because the smaller one does not come with a speaker. Picture messages are also viewable on the watch. Like all the other Smartwatches you can get notifications for whatever you want. The lack of heart rate sensor is no big deal (just a gimmick to me). My wife has an Apple watch and the Zenwatch 2 is just like it minus the heart rate sensor...oh and price. I drive a lot for my job so it helps being able to take a call on my wrist instead of digging in my pocket or looking for my phone. The battery last all day and then some however, I charge it at night with my phone (LG G4). For 129 bucks you can't go wrong if you have an Android phone. All other smart watches with built in speakers seem to be upwards of 300 dollars.

BEST SMART WATCH FOR THE BUCK

You will feel smarter wearing this watch, just knowing that you paid much less than majority of others, without losing anything where it counts. Well built and works fantastically for what I need it to do. I had a very nice Samsung rep at the local Best Buy store help me getting my watch going and he was impressed with the built quality and features. You will not regret it if you buy it. The battery life is fantastic with almost 2 full days of use.

    Beautiful smartwatch with great feature

Zenwatch 2 is my second smart watch after Moto 360.Zenwatch 2 has the much beautiful screen display. It's absolutely stunning when it lights up at you. I've gotten many complements on it just on my arm and then I show them what it does and the various and customizable watch faces. The long battery life is another great feature of Zenwach2.I can use it almost 2 days for my daily activities, and charge time is also much shorten. It only takes about 30 to 40 minutes, plus there's no more charging cradle. Rather it's a USB connector with a magnetic pogo pin that fits on the back of the smartwatch. All in all, I'm very happy with my Zenwatch 2 and I won't be upgrading to anything else until prices are more reasonable.

    Better than Samsung Gear 2

I had the first Samsung Gear and recently the Gear 2, but returned it because nothing worked on it as well as advertised. After returning the Gear 2, I researched the Asus Zen and then purchased one. The Asus works vastly better than the Gear 2 and at half the cost.

I still have a Moto 360 and like it alot. I like the Zen Watch because they did not include the things that I do not need or want. 1 heart rate monitor that does not work anyway on any watch 2. a light sensor that makes a flat tire on the bottom of the screen and 3. 150 to 200 dollars less I had to pay for a good looking smart watch. Thank you Asus and merry Christmas.

I own the first generation Moto 360 which has its quirks, have tried the LG Watch R (returned it due to poor battery life) but absolutely love the Asus Zenwatch 2! Not only does it look appealing, the battery life is excellent even at a brightness of 3, screen "always on". The price point is really what all these watches should be.

Excellent "Bang For Your Buck" Smartwatch

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The Asus Zenwatch 2 is an extremely affordable smartwatch which provides you with the full Android Wear experience on solid hardware. The device has interchangeable bands which allows for a lot of customization and longevity. The screen is vibrant, though lacking in the sharpness and resolution that the Moto 360 series provides. The shape and design of the device, crown included, is attractive and has a sophisticated feel. The watch is comfortable and easily adjustable without special tools. One of my only complaints is the magnetic charging cable with the 2 foot cord. The charger doesn't take much to become detached or misaligned with the charging port and the 2 foot cable can make it difficult to charge while sitting on your desk (when plugged into the wall outlet) Note : Asus Zenwatch 1 accessories, such as screen protectors, will work on the 1.63" model. TLDR; Excellent value second generation smartwatch with all the core, important features (sans a heart rate monitor)

    Best Smartwatch for the hesitant

I have been wanting a Smartwatch for sometime now and finally found the right one for me. The employee that helped me Nate was extremely knowledgeable and made the ZW2 an easy choice. I went with the best buy exclusive model nice looking well made adjustable leather band with clasp. I thought a Smartwatch was a gimmick until I purchased the ZW2 trust me you will find it as valuable as your smartphone itself. And no monthly line charges sinc with your Android phone (Note Edge is my phone) and your good to go. Asus has made an extremely nice product at such a low price point. I hope for the people out there like myself that were having a hard time deciding which or if they needed a Smartwatch that this review helps. I would have rated the ZW2 a 4.5 but since that wasn't possible it's definitely closer to a 5 than a 4. Tim A.

    Great purchase!

Full disclosure- this is my first smart watch, so I have nothing to compare it to experience wise. Purchased due to my job and missing loads of email that is time sensitive due to not being able to carry my phone on me. (Yea, women's clothing just doesn't offer the same pockets as guys!) Works like a champ for this. Bought the larger size assuming that the display would be easier to read. Not true- saw a review online showing side by side with the smaller size- same readability. The smaller display offers an upgraded version that makes up for the smaller size. Battery, for now, seems to go quicker than advertised. I charge every night. Today, down to under 25% by lunch... possible the charger was knocked at night though. Can't find a second charging unit to purchase yet to keep at work, so hopefully soon. This watch replaces my former Fitbit Flex pedometer beautifully, offers the ability to read and send email/text, adds other notifications as curated by the owner, plenty of apps to choose from... in all I am very happy with it. My only issue is that this is clearly marketed to men- tough to find more feminine watch faces, bands, etc. Still comfortable on my wrist though, and I have a sliightly smaller wrist size than typical. Large face covers the wrist though in case that is an issue for you. Not clunky, just big and sleek. No way would I pay double the price for not much more than what this does- a great value in comparison to the higher priced competition!

This is my first android wear watch and the experience is very very good. So happy with this purchase. This watch is first of all very well crafted. It has no gaps and the stainless steel or aluminum it's made from is quite sleek and sexy looking. The strap is quite comfortable but will have to be broken in. I wore it for a day and it is stiff a bit but over time I'm sure I will loosen up. The watch itself is great. Looks great and the screen is fast and responsive and all the features of android wear are here. There's so much this watch helps me with for such a good price. The Asus zenwatch apps that go along with the watch make it stand out and clearly are awesome. Over all the look and feel is pretty good and the bezel is not bad at all. People over exaggerate it. So if you're not sure on buying it go check out a local best buy store and use the watch in display.the straps are also 22 interchangeable and Asus is going to release straps in the months to come.

Not a bad smartwatch but not for me

I briefly had the Asus ZenWatch 2 and saw many pros and cons before returning it in favor of the Samsung Gear S2. The best part for me is that it looked like an everyday watch, not a sports device. Another plus is that with this everyday styling, the bands are replaceable/interchangeable. The cons are that it is slightly heavier than some other smartwatches (Gear S2, Moto 360 2nd gen.) The size was a little on the large size for a female wrist. I didn’t really like how the face of the watch was rounded on the edges instead of being completely flat. The clasp on the band that came with the watch was very bulky, very secure but bulky. All of those are styling issues and everyone has his/her personal preference. The real reason why I chose the Samsung Gear S2 is the difference in the operating systems. After doing my research, Android Wear makes sense – theoretically. Having access to almost all my phone apps available on my swartwatch, I thought was a big plus. Android Wear has been around for a while so there are lots and lots of apps besides alternate watch faces. Android Wear connects with Google Fit. (One downside of many fitness trackers is that their data gather programs are not available to be viewed on line (S Health, Jawbone UP,) so Android Wear being paired with Google Fit is a big plus. ) This all makes sense. The reason I gave up the ZenWatch was the weight, styling and operating system. As much as Android Wear makes sense, it’s not the easiest to use. I couldn’t access a (general) calendar. If I didn’t have any items on the agenda for that day, I couldn’t see my upcoming items or just a general calendar. It was great that my entire contact list was available to either call or send a text. It was frustrating to have to either give a voice command or scroll through the WHOLE list to find the name I wanted. Part of the beauty of a smartwatch is being able to do things discretely in places where you can’t pull out your phone. If I’m being discrete, I don’t want to voice search for a contact then speak my text. When responding to a text or rejecting a call, several prepared options were available but it wasn’t easy for me to figure out how to edit those to create a response that I would send. Overall I found the Android Wear operating system was slowly responsive and more challenging to use. I really, really wanted to love this operating system but for me Tizen on the Samsung Gear S2 was just easier to use. But if you're okay with the Android Wear operating system, this isn't a bad watch. Good price point for a solid smartwatch.

    Android Wear Still Feels Experimental

I paired this watch with an LG G2 smartphone and it wasn't the best experience. I experienced lag, and lockups on my phone at times and faster battery drain. The vibration for notifications was pretty weak and I missed notifications often. I tried using the phone for navigation and the notifications to turn came too late and the vibrations were so weak that it was kind of pointless, I might as well just use my phone. I have average sized wrists and felt that this watch was just way too big on me. I'm generally an early adopter of new technology but I wish I had waited a few generations on buying a smart watch. Right now all it is is a second screen for your phone, which I feel isn't really necessary when your phone does a good job by itself. If you still want to buy a smartwatch, I would recommend this model because of the price and specs, it does mostly everything that the more expensive models do, it has the same specs minus a h/r monitor. While this watch isn't for me, it may be useful to someone else.

I have recently purchased a Zenwatch 2 and paired it with my new LG V10 and it works perfectly. I get all my emails, texts, and agenda items instantly. I can voice reply to my emails and texts. I have apps installed like Amazon, Evernote, Wunderlist, Google Keep, and more. I can use the watch to get the weather forecast, activate my music, look at my photos, and create reminders using ok google. The ok google feature works great. The watch is extremely classy looking and the screen is great. Many many watch faces to match your personality time. I also use it as a translator, listen to iheartradio, navigation, alarm clock, pedometer, stopwatch, timer, camera remote, and a ton more. For the price I just don't see how you can go wrong. I had a Gear 2 before which I loved and I like this one just as well. Good job Asus.
