Great at first, then.....

I was getting speeds over 600mpbs and the router handled the rest of our devices well. Day 5 the satellite node quit working and called asus support which was a joke. They had no idea what was going on and even after resetting the satellite node, could not get it to connect back to the main node. I will be returning...

Solid Mesh Router System

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We were struggling with getting internet throughout our house and after carefully reviewing the options, many reviews recommended the ASUS Zen-Wifi System for larger homes. The best thing about this system is the ease of installation. It literally took five minutes and our WIFI is now finally taking advantage of our full 300-400M Speeds throughout the house. Very highly recommend this option for those of you with larger homes.

I did upgrade because I have a two story house and had wifi coverage issue at 1st floor. After using it, all devices get connected fast and reliably. Installation is easy. Just remember to do a firmware upgrade after installation. I got this system when it was $399 which is really a great price compared with MX10 or AX6000. I am glad I chose this one. I saw other bad reviews but have no idea why it is not 5 star.

High speeds in every inch of my home. The main purposed for adding these was to get wired connections through the house and they did an excellent job. Easily messed with the AX11000 router and had amazing coverage up and down my street. Highly recommend these plus the realesfate they take up in minimal and can be put just about anywhere.

Too much to pay for a known, unstable device

Unfortunately, ASUS can’t get them stable. When connected, speeds are great. But things bounce on and off the network constantly so if you have cameras or other devices that depend on a steady connection, this is not the system for you. Spent weeks with support (which horrible), sending them logs and info directly from the device and troubleshooting, but there appears to no real solution. I believe ASUS knows this system is not stable, but seems like they are fine taking $400+ from novice users who just don’t notice. Used to be a die hard ASUS fan, but will not spend another dime with them now. There are much cheaper standalone routers that perform much better than this mesh system.

However after a few weeks I had to return. I found that devices had a hard time connecting after wake from sleep, both MacBooks and iPhones. Once they connect they were really slow.

While I can sometimes pump that up to around 100% by restarting the router, that doesn’t last long before falling back. Disappointing.
