Handy Budget Phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a budget smart phone so you should not expect a lot coming from this phone. With that said, the price for the phone is fair for what you get from this phone. Quad core processor with 1 Gb of RAM should provide decently enough multi tasking for apps and voice quality is decent enough as well. The screen resolution is OK but again, this a budget phone. Battery life is fair and the battery is also removable. Phone camera leaves a lot to be desired. It is running Android OS 5 which is nice to see a somewhat modern OS running on this phone. Overall, pretty good for the low price if you need a backup phone or on a very tight budget.

Great Budget Phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone is worth way more than twenty bucks! I'll admit I'm just a PHONE user and some-time texter, emailer. I'm no techno geek gamer, social media poster who has to have the latest flagship device or I'll go into full meltdown so this review is about using a PHONE like a PHONE! This thing has done everything I've need it to do since I bought it from Best Buy. Plain and simple: It's a good phone. The only thing mildly bad about it is that I have to charge it every night before the next days use. Other than that, if you need a PHONE to call, text, or email people this device will do the job nicely for you. It's well built, reliable, and easy to navigate. The camera is not the greatest, but I have a great Sony Digital camera anyway for serious picture taking. Why would I need two? If you want a reasonably priced, reliable PHONE then this is a good bet.

Great buy for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this one because my LG died (literaly) because one of my kids accidentally droped it when moving some boxes. I looked for a quick way to get an unexpensive phone and found this on black friday. Phone is on the level of more expensive phones. I would give 5 stars if touch were a bit more responsive but despite that little detail is a great buy. Screen size is very good, average processing speed is acceptable, storage is enough for an average phone and it has android 5. I think that this may become a great emulator for my kids when I change my phone again.

Good for the Money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this phone to use mainly as an mp3 player and a backup phone for when I don't want my primary phone to be in the elements. It works really well for the price. You can't expect the latest and greatest hardware in this phone, but it still is relatively snappy for checking emails and browsing the web. The speakers and the camera aren't that good, but you can't expect that for the price you're paying. If you simply want a cheap phone or one to use as a backup, I would definitely recommend it.

It sucks.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I see why it cost $20. It Sucks. The camera doesn't look good. It freezes sometimes when I'm trying to get out of the apps. It does not keep good connection and sometimes people can't hear me when I'm talking to them. I had this phone for some months now and it sucks.

Steal for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone is a steal for the price ($20) I got it as a backup phone. Sometimes it might lag if you put much stress on the apps. However, for the price, this phone is much more than expected and gets 5 stars.

OK phone... you get what you pay for
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first thing to remember is that the phone only cost $10 on Black Friday. That is unheard of anywhere in the world, so complaining about how bad this phone is... is really misguided. If you want all the bells and whistles, you have to pay for them. Having said that, the Moto E that was only $10 the year earlier is a much better phone in my humble opinion. So the Alcatel Ideal is a good starter phone for someone who has never had a smartphone before, or someone who wants a backup, etc. For the price, I can live with its limitations. The only thing that really bothered me was the lack of sensitivity on the screen. The way to fix that is: Tap settings. Tap Language and Input. Scroll to the very bottom of these settings and tap pointer speed. Increase the slider all the way to the right. Tap OK. That made my screen much more sensitive. I would recommend the phone to a friend if they needed something cheap.

Spend the extra dollar or two.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks and feels absolutely cheap like a dollar store toy and the camera is pretty much useless (think flip phone camera quality). The only positive thing about the phone is that you can disable and even uninstall a lot of the pre-packaged carrier apps giving you a close to stock Android experience. Overall I would strongly suggest that anyone considering this phone spend the extra $20 or $30 and buy something better.

Absolute TRASH
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Terrible call quality, extremely weak antenna, drops calls, misses txts, freezes on every webpage, burns through battery charges in under three hours on STANDBY -- this phone is like trying to dig a trench with a knife and fork. Only reason I bought it was because 1. I was flat broke and 2. it was the only low price option in stock. There's a good reason owners eventually call this thing 'monkey-butt' and you will discover why soon enough..

Cheap, and it shows
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone is probably the cheapest Android phone you can buy right now, and it is definitely that. Screen is low res, dim and dull. Battery lasts just couple of hours. Camera is useless. I can't think of anyone that I'd recommend this phone to. I returned it the next day. Just spend a little bit more and get something line LG or Samsung GoPhones.

Bad Android Model
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.AT&T Prepaid - Alcatel Ideal 4G LTE with 8GB Memory Prepaid Cell Phone - Slate Blue This model runs out of charge way too fast, even when turned off. I already changed one of these for a new one, thinking it might have been a defective product. But the new one does exactly the same. So I concluded it is the model.
