A 65 dollar phone , Buy one NOW!

The screen is great, the options is great, it out performs a mediatek, and it supports a 64 gig expanded memory. I have a nexus 6 and this phone with the LED alert and the over all updating of pandora over my cd player works great. This phone picks up in locations my nexus6 will drop! again people I am impressed. This thing is way better than a mediatek processor phone that costs more! Cricket sim's work out of the box too :) Also the charger that comes in the box will charge the phone in 2 hours, and the battery life is awesome. Also for 2.4 ghz wifi i get 50 mbps on my home wifi.

I love the phone. Love the screen size. Phone charges faster and has way more battery life than my old phone. Don't really anything bad to say about the phone.

Slow and Hangs on with Apps

    Posted .

This phone has a great display and settings offered by Asus. But with more than 4 apps installed the Phone goes too slow and then often it hangs and it takes time for the home screen to show up. If you are a heavy user then this is not for you. People with less usage may benefit from this Phone. Overall i liked it except for hanging some times.

    The BAD reviews are correct

I bought this phone yesterday 01/31/16. When I got it home and went to charge it it took all day. On today's use the phone kept turning itself off, uploaded an upgrade to the phone, and moved really slow. It takes really good pictures though. I will be returning this phone today to get a different phone with better reviews. Do not buy unless it is for a kid age 6-10 who just wants to play on the phone and take pictures.

    Not a Good Phone

Let me start with my buying experience with best buy. Buying experience simply great , hassle free. I selected the option "In Store pick-up" got the item on the same day evening. ( with in 2/3 hrs after placing my order). This was on 6th Feb 2016. Product comes with a neat packing and with a bonus back cover, USB Charger and cable. Phone is decent for the price. I paid $59( incl taxes). It does not come with head -set. I definitely expect a head-set with the phone. that disappointed me little bit. But the more disappointing factor started only after 18 days.... the battery turned to be horrible. It does not even last for 6 hrs after fully charged. Believe me, except for a 10 min phone call did not use the phone much during 6 hrs. I was shocked !! This was on 23-Feb-2015. I immediately called Best Buy Customer after a wait of 29 min and calling twice i was able to speak to an agent. I explained the problem and she made me wait for another 20 min for getting a answer ( Total wait time was nearly 50 min :( ). She explained me that the item is out of warranty ! and cannot be returned , but she promised me to send a return shipping label , which I did not get even today ! Honestly speaking i would like to return the phone and get the money refund. But if that is not an option, at least i would like to have the faulty phone to be replaced with a decent phone. Hope some one will look at this review and do the needful. Thanks Sun M

The worst decision I ever made.

This phone was the worst phone decision I ever made. It was a problem right out of the box. It forced closed everything. I would take photos, but it would never let me even look at them. Every time I went to open the gallery it would say it wasn't responding and force close it. I tried to go online and it would force close every time I tried. This phone actually looks super cool . but looks can be deceiving... Very deceiving in this case. Even if your a light user you will have a lot of trouble with this phone. I owned it for about 20 minutes before I brought it straight back to the store. Horrible purchase. It couldn't do even small functions. They should recall this phone. It's AWFUL.

Removable SD card doesn't work. Buggy Software/HW

    Posted .

Purchased two of these phones and inserted a Sandisk 32GB EVO microsd card. Placed Music in a Music folder and Pictures in the DCIM\Camera folder. The factory software Gallery and Music app will not read anything from the Removable SD card. It works from the internal built in 8GB memory if you copy your pictures to the internal or the music to the internal memory. If you connect the phone to the computer the computer will show the space used on the removable card but when opening the card from the my computer and removable storage and it shows empty. You can't create folders or rename the folders. Take the card out and place in a card reader and browse to it from the computer and you can see the files and able to manipulate folder names and creation. Called Asus technical support and they say I've tried everything I can try. Asked me to go purchase other sizes of microsd card. The phone is supposed to support up to 64GB and this is a premium 32GB card which I had no issue in other phones. Asus wants us to send the phone in. I informed them I have two of the phones experiencing the exact same problem. Not likely a faulty phone, sounds more like a HW design, software or firmware issue that needs to be resolved. Until Asus fixes the issue which could take weeks, months or years it would be wise to pass on this phone.

    Great phone....except for the camera

This is a great phone especially for the price. I bought it when it first came out for $300, and now it's even more of a steal. HOWEVER, buyers beware the camera on it stinks! Takes about 3 seconds to snap a photo. Doesn't seem that long, but compared to an iPhone it's eons.

Not going to hammer company neat little phone BUT lags when closing out of apps constantly says Asus is not resonding, I drive a truck and not on phone very much but sits next to me and battery will only last 10hrs if lucky. And very slow. Love this company's computers but need real work on phone battery life.

Not what I was looking for

This phone is simplistic but works as a phone. I will say I loved the design with the matt back which was smooth and felt nice in the hand. There were far too many issues with this phone in end. It seemed to overheat a lot when using for long periods of time. It would constantly freeze and close apps. In the end it was just too buggy for me to keep.

Price was right and the o/s was rather up to date. But there are some very annoying things about this phone. First off, external storage warning message pops up every single dang time that you power up. After 6 months I think I realize that I have a storage card inserted. Duh. Next...when you want to delete an entire thread of sms conversation....you can't. Instead they have a check box next to each and ever message of a thread. Real p.i.t.a. Not sure if that is ASUS or android. I can tell you I didnt have that problem on my old ZTe phone. Next....there is no illuminated button on the bottom of the screen. You know, the back button, the home button and on this one some other worthless button Next....you think you are quitting an app but you arent. It just disappears from view. Click on the lower right button on the phone and a window will open up showing tens of the most recent apps that you were using. If there are 10-100, then you have to scroll thru them to find the one you want. Isnt it easier to just click on your apps and open the one you want. Makes no sense. I only bought an asus because it has geo tagging on photos. Speaking of which, photos often come out blurring, unless you are totally motionless....a near impossibility without a tripod. There is no easy way to change the flash settng without going into the settings everytime. Overall, a very poorly designed not so smart phone. If anything happens to this phone I will go back to Zte. Pros: Geo tagging, price, size, battery life, two phone backs B&W, recent android version Cons: Non replaceable battery, slow start time, long charge time, no car charger, no user guide, internal storage card, volume control on back, low speaker volume

This phone started out OK, but within one month apps started to force close and the phone became very laggy. I would not suggest buying this phone as it's about 60 dollars too expensive for what you get compared to say the Samsung grand prime that is way better.
