This is my first Windows Phone device. Compared to Android and iOS, it is not quite as polished, but I am primarily using it as a media player with a 64GB microSD card. For that use, it works very well.

For the price you pay for this phone, can't really complain for cheap back and not so great cameras.Anyway most of the people are using an external case and glass protector for their phones. The pictures of both are acceptable to. But you will be able to swap your battery and add a micro SD card, if needed, a big+++ for me. The phone is very power efficient, compare to my Galaxy S5, and easy to use, Not much to learn, if you familiar with computer version of Windows. The only two thinks I don't like in it is the way it plays your music (you must create play lists) and file explorer is awkward a bit for me, but that is probaby issue of all Windows phones, since I came across this problem on my old Samsung Focus, running Windows 7. The App store is not as reach, as for other platforms also, but most of the time you can get an app for all kind of needs.

This phone does practically everything the more expensive phones do... at a fraction of the price. Compare and you will see. Just remember... this is a Windows phone... probably just like your computer.

I have had 2 prior Lumia phones; a 520 and 635. The 640 really surpasses both. It is smooth, responsive, and easy to use. For my framework, the 640 works as well or better than my wife's Moto X and my son's iphone - both much more expensive devices.

I bought the ATT go phone as it was on sale for $30 to have as a backup phone. I received it quickly and tested it to make sure all working ok. This is an ATT phone but I am a T-Mobile customer. If you are TMobile and want to unlock it, before using take out the ATT sim card that is in it before turning it on, I went to the ATT website and requested the unlock code. I received this code by email the next day. Insert your Tmobile SIM card and follow the instructions to unlock it. I did this with no problems. I quickly went through the phone checking to make sure everything works. No problems whatsoever.

Lumia 640 is a good phone in its price range but I found two major issues with it in comparison to Lumia 635: 1. Phone kept loosing signal very frequently and calls were forwarded directly to voicemail. In-fact several times I called my cell number using landline number and call would directly go to voicemail even when phone had good network. 2. Phone has to be charged on a daily basis otherwise battery would die the very next day even if you don't use it but have active internet/wi-fi. I would recommend this to a friend because I'm not sure if the issue was specific to that particular set because my friends don't have similar network issue though battery life is a concern.

It's a cheap windows phone. However, Nokia knows what they're doing. The battery lasts long, the camera is decent (a lot better than some android phones that's twice the price of this phone). The speaker is also loud and the screen has a very good viewing angle. Also, if you haven't turned on the phone with the pre-installed SIM card, ATT let's you unlock it for free (even if you do not have an account with them). So this makes a great backup phone for the specs. Unfortunately, as it is a Windows Phone, there's not a lot of mainstream apps available (like those you expect to find on Android or iOS, like YouTube). It's also good that you can upgrade to windows phone 10 with this phone.

Fast, clean interface, overall functionality is excellent. The only drawback is that the app store is barren, and the only web browser is Internet Explorer.

Beautiful phone after the upgrade. Fast phone for emails, phone calls, and remote desktop for IT Troubleshooting. No need to cut an arm for a work related phone.

This phone has great reception and big screen. Being a Windows phone, there is a learning curve, but not a steep one. The major con is that there are very limited Apps available on the Windows platform. For one, no Starbucks App!!

I love this phone. Great phone for the price it does every thing I need it to do and its secure with the windows operating system. My wife already lost her phone. We were able to locate it and recover the phone using her Microsoft account.

I'm a M$ fanboy. Moved from an HTC 8x to this. Its a bit slower than the 8x, but the price was right, <$60. Took it to Cricket wireless (uses AT&T network), they hooked me right up. Phone is fully functional for what I need.

Love this phone. It works excellent and has good battery life. Only thing I don't like is that since it's a Microsoft Windows phone,it doesn't have google play so you have to use amazon store which doesn't have certain apps.

I really like the phone. It is fairly easy to use once you get use to it. It has a great camera. I have not had a windows phone before and was disappointed that I could not download Hangouts, but at least I can use Skype. There are a lot of apps available. Many are duplicates which is confusing trying to figure out which "flashlight" or other duplicated app to choose.

I have been using this phone since one month and faced no problem until now. The performance, screen and the touch are very good. I like it even I used iPhone before. The only thing you may need to compromise is windows store is not vast like ios or android store but I m happy with windows store.

The app gap in Windows Phone is closing quickly now, with developers working on apps for Windows 10 which will be available on the Lumia 640 soon. The battery life is great, will easily cope over a day with normal usage. The screen size is perfect for apps, games and videos, and if you want to put something on the big screen, then you can use the Project My Screen app which allows you to project your phone to a Windows tablet or PC screen.

If you're not particularly tied to apple or android, a Windows Phone (WP) is a great budget-friendly device. This phone has a great screen size, great speaker for music, and barely the right amount of apps to get me by. Emphasis on barely because their app store had the two messaging apps I use to communicate to various teams. Having no google apps took some getting used to (since I've had a android device before), but the web browser will still suffice in most cases. Great, budget-friendly phone overall.
