Got a good deal for $29.95 Using it a an extra tablet Running on wi-fi

I got this on a holiday sale for $30, but even at the regular price of $60 it's a steal. I've always been an android user, but my wife has always had iphones. We've both used this phone and like it very much. Even though there aren't as many apps available, I've found decent ones for every purpose I actually need, all free. The Windows compatibility is also handy, since it can access items I've put on OneDrive (Microsoft's version of the icloud). This includes spreadsheets and Word documents. I'd have no problem using this as my primary phone other than that it is, like most newer phones, larger than what I like to carry in my pocket. Inexpensive cases are available for a few bucks if you search the internet. I paid $3 for a clear hard case that fits perfectly. Also, it wasn't difficult to unlock. I did it by requesting unlock instructions at ATT's site, which they sent in about five days. It is amazing that a phone of this caliber can be purchased for so little and unlocked for global use. In doubt? Give it a try!

A dynamite device for the price!!! I bought this phone as a replacement for my Samsung Galaxy S4, which mysteriously bit the dust for no apparent reason. I needed a replacement and decided to steer clear of another Samsung, and went for this inexpensive but quality Windows phone instead. I'm glad I did! The 640 is my first Windows phone. I was leery of getting a Microsoft phone at first, considering that all my past cellulars were Android derived, but after watching some positive video reviews at YouTube of the 640 I went to BestBuy and bought it. I put my AT&T SIM card into it and instead of a GoPhone I converted it to my contract phone instead. It took a little getting used to the new format of a Windows 8.1 device but once I became accustomed to it the phone became a breeze to manipulate. The camera works well, calls are steady and volume is great. I recommend the 640, for its low price and great quality features!!! Peace... ♐

I purchased this Microsoft Lumia 640 4G phone to replace my standard pay as you go phone that I had for 8 years, it was nothing wrong with my old phone. I just wanted to know what the smart phones were all about. I'm glad I did, I got this phone on sale for $49.99. It was regularly at $79.99, then currently it went to $59.99. Now it's on sale at an even lower price at $29.99. Wish I could have a little longer, but that's okay it was still a great deal when I bought it. It doesn't lag and the battery lasts 3-4 days depending on usage, and the screen is so responsive and clear. Back and front camera. You can't beat that! I'm still leaning how to use it. I looked at a lot of cell phones online and in the Best Buy store before I made my choice. For the money, you can't beat the quality of the 640 and style of the Microsoft Lumia 640 4G LTE Smart Phone.

Never buy this phone worked goof for 3 months , then started to reboot by itself even after software up grade. Camera goes black and wont function to take pictures, you answer and can hear caller, you dial and wont go through. It kicks you out of webpages by itself. Temporary fix is turning it off then on. Horrible phone, only good is decent pictures.

I had owned this phone for about a year, and at the time was a big fan of the Windows phone operating system. I still am, but after about one year this phone just quit working properly. It would occasionally be unable to read the SD card, or sometimes the SIM card. It became unreliable, and at that point a safety hazard if you rely on your cell phone.

It is very nice smartphone as a device But the problem Coming that I didn't find good application as Google store Or if you find the application that you want It has problems or doesn't work correctly as Facebook messenger Or viber Also I didn't find and auto calls recorder I think the most mistak that Microsoft did That start to sell and deal for this device before renew and fix the Windows store Thanks

Phone is difficult to use. It dials people with out your knowledge. It's a nice looking phone just difficult to use

As a phone I was pretty happy about it but the lack of apps in the App Store makes it hard to rate any higher.

This is the flagship phone from Microsoft in 2014. The 950 is the flagship phone for 2015. I am running Windows 10 Mobile and love it. It is fast, takes great pictures and does everything I look for in a phone. I came from a Samsung Note 3. I loved that phone as well, but i grew tired of Android never being up to date. Now I get all the updates pushed to me from Microsoft and there are some great features for a $30 phone. I am never returning to Android again. I now have a Windows Surface/Windows Phone/ Windows Band 2, no need to waste money for any other android device again since all my devices will be supported with full updates for the life of the devices. Unlike Android that you get updates for 18 months then told you have to buy the next expensive device if you want something up to date. Good luck with that.

Cheap phone to server web and listen to music. Value for money

I had meant to get the Lumia 640 earlier on Tmobile and then it suddenly disappeared after only a couple months. I thought I had missed my chance. Then I found out you could buy this ATT Lumia 640 and unlock it. Ironically, it was $129 at Tmobile. But I now I was able to buy it for $30. Thank you Best Buy!!! To unlock the phone, I just found a simple video on youtube ("Boring Video: It's quite easy to get your Lumia 640 unlocked”) that showed me what I had to do. It took two business days to get the unlock code. I do not want to spend a lot of money on phones, so my previous phone was a Nokia Lumia 521. I had bought the Lumia 521 on sale at something like $80. I cannot believe that I now have a phone that has a bigger screen, a better screen, more memory, has a better camera and is faster for less than half the cost of my previous budget phone. Stunning!!! I’m a busy person, so I do not play games on my phone or spend time on instagram, etc. I just need the basic apps, so it does not matter to me that some popular apps are not on windows phone. So far, I very happy with this phone. I do not understand why it was discontinued from Tmobile. And, I do not understand why microsoft is not flooding the market with this phone. It is a terrific phone at an unbeatable price.
