Wired headset problems; check it out thoroughly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been through two in the last month, one I purchased new and one a warranty replacement. Both exhibit odd behavior using wired headset. Pops between songs, phone auto dials last call, drop downs cycling, and sending texts one character at a time, all problems I've faced. Check it out thoroughly before 14 days run out; now I am stuck. I generally like the phone otherwise, but I want wired headset functionality. ZTE claims ignorance of the problem, and blamed the AT&T refurb replacement. AT&T store guy said ZTE makes cheap phones; we'll sell you something else.

Great big screen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Liked this phone, big clear screen, everything was fine until 3 months later, Mic was intermittent, in other words during a call the other party could not hear me but i could hear them and it gradually got worse. My wife has the same phone and NO problems whatsoever, so i guess you could take your chances, but i would'nt. Have a Great Day.

Nice phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone is a good device for the price. The battery life is okay and call quality is good. The resolution could be better but overall it is a good starter android phone.

poor customer service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.ZTE is a horrible company. They do not stand behind their product. They provide no customer service. When I sent my ZMAX (previous model) in for repairs, they sent back a broken refurb. Don't expect much when the phone breaks.

Do not fall for the positive reviews
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not fall for the positive reviews. I bought this phone thinking that its a great phone. There 3 serious flaws. 1. WiFi support is the absolute worst (connects at about 8Kbps speed and drops connection every 30 seconds). 2. Camera flash is completely useless (pictures are completely dark with flash). Unless you are out on a Sunny day, cameras are unusable. 3. This phone comes with no warranty or support of any kind. So you are stuck with B12 firmware (this phone cannot be updated to newer firmware) and also stuck with 4GB worth of bloatware apps (you cannot disable or uninstall them).

Mine had problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The screen display and camera are mediocre. It would not recognize my 32 GB micro SD that worked fine in my other phone. The phone would not update to most recent B16 firmware. Had to send it in for warranty repalcement because I didn't discover the latter 2 problems until after the refund period expired. It took almost a month to get the replacement phone from the ZTE USA. After I received it, I gave it away. Sorry but I cannot recommend this phone. With any phone you you buy, put it through all of its paces immediately so that you can return it during the refund /excahnge period.

Think very budget
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ZMAX 2 is a phone. A basic phone. Even though apps are downloadable for this low end phone, doesn't mean they function properly. My Example is "Runtastic" I use this app to monitor my walks, when I cut my lawn and jogs. On this phone it does not record the actual mileage you walk or run, it is far less than what you have accomplished. Also the "S Health" app. my total steps are never counted accurately. If you want a "Phone" this is for you. If you want a Smart phone, skip this one.

Many bugs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone seems like an amazing value for money, but it has many bugs. While many of them are minor nags, one really annoying bug started becoming more and more frequent with just 5 days of usage. The phone's sounds (notifications, speakers and everything else) just goes mute suddenly without any warning. The only way to fix it is by restarting it. Because of this issue, I have missed many important calls and notifications. Apparently, this is a common issue with many ZTE phones, but neither ZTE nor At&t have cared to fix it.

Decent phone hardware but horrible OS reliability
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While the phone hardware is decent, whatever ZTE did to the Android 5.1 on this phone makes the file system very unusable. Randomly installed app icons will disappear or reappear in the wrong folder. Android OS on this phone also randomly crash and restart itself. I don't think ZTE did much testing with the modification they did to the phone OS. There is no newer update to Android 5.1 on this phone. Maybe if you are a casual user and don't add many apps in the folders, the phone could be usable.
