For a sub corx, it gets the job done no question. And when you can catch it on sale…all the better. Distortion on my sub is cleaned up really well and this cable is SOLID.

Somebody said subwoofer cables are all the same, even use regular RCA cables are the same. Actually good cables and regular cables are not the same. I was use Monster regular RCA cable to my Klipsch R12Wi Subwoofer, connected with Denon AVR-X1300W Dolby-Atmos receiver. I was not really happy with the Bass sound. Most of the problem with your subwoofer which is some frequency of the bass was too strong, that make you have to turn the level down to make sure not to bother your listening experience. Audioquest Irish red subwoofer cable got very balanced bass sound frequency. If no any specific frequency are bothering you, you can turn the subwoofer to higher power level, which will have more detail of the lower level bass sound. That’s why use this cable can show up more detail bass. Especially when you listening classical misic and Jazz, these bass are not only booming, it need high detail layers, this cable will help a lot.

Bought one today to replace an old video cable that I had been using for years with my old Velodune F-1500-B that I just replaced with a REL HT1205 (phenomenal subs!) And guess what? The old video cable sounded better! It was thicker and had a better connector too, maybe that had something to do with it? Did you know that you can use RG6 with RCA connectors for a sub cable too?! The center conductor being solid (and highly shielded) transmits faster and with more detail than braided wire! It also has a higher bandwidth than you will ever need as well which probably attributes to clarity.

    Complete waste of money

Any woven cable with gold plated connectors will perform equally well and at a cost of less than $10. A long cable can become an antenna and be subject to EMF and produce noticeable noise in the very high frequencies as with the current going to a tweeter. The subwoofer is operating at low and very low frequencies and any EMF is not going to affect the output from the subwoofer speaker. Worst case one could clamp a $0.50 ferrite bead on the cable where it connects to the pre-amp port. I use special woven Kimber Kable for my primary speakers to bi-amp the mid and high range speakers and this does help with certain material. But I use a different type of cable for the woofers in these speakers as the requirements are different. It is dismaying that so many people are sold snake oil by the audio industry. I see it with $20 a foot cables such as this one from AudioQuest and even more ludicrous are the special "audio" power plugs that are supposed to magically clean the inbound current from a wall receptacle. ONLY a line conditioner can do this with isolated transformers and yet the industry allows and even encourages this kind of nonsense.
