Upgraded cable from standard optical

This is the second time this has happened to me with a purchase. This one has so far outlasted the last one, but I don't hear the better sound quality that everyone boasts. Maybe if I cranked up the sound I could hear the difference in quality.

Would not connect to older tv

The cable does not connect the system to our 6 yr old TV. We are getting a new TV and hopefully we will be able to use the cable then. I would not purchase unless you are 100% sure that you actually need it.
