    When I bought my 4K TV, in spite of me knowing better, I allowed the salesperson to talk me into buying a 4K compatible HDMI cable. Well, I brought the TV home, hooked it p with the cables I already had, and returned this inessential and expensive add on. You don't have to buy the cheapest HDMI cable out there, but you either get a signal or you get no signal. That is the great thing about digital.
