    Got it for the tv, since arc sound quality is not good.i could go hdmi but satellite services offer low audio quality. So optical it is.

    Only had this for a short time because I was advised I needed it to make my receiver system connect with my TV. It worked fine but it's something you need to be aware of that it will not work in a closed cabinet. You have to leave the door open in order for the connection to work. Annoying.
