First, if you want to operate this away from your home, you need to spend another $79 or so to buy the remote 'communicator". Wish I'd known that up front. Also, it tends to lose its connection and you need to reconnect it which is easy enough unless you need to unlock the door quickly at which point you might as well just go up and turn the lock manually. It will also only replace your deadbolt; you can't have any other lock on your door or you will still have to manually unlock THAT lock, so the August is pretty much useless at that point. I had to call customer service and it took them at least 45 minutes to get it to connect with my Fios router. Based on all that, I don't think it was worth what I paid or worth the early adopter grief.

Nice locks, just a little bulky for the doors. Nice bluetooth features to lock and unlock the house when you leave and return.

Now that firmware was released it works great with Apple.

Surprisingly easy to install and setup. I've had it for over two months and have zero problems with it. Extremely easy to use and give/take access to guests. Absolutely love it.

So easy to install. Instructions were clear and I am horrible at installing anything. Someone told me it was easy but I was very surprised I could do it myself.

For me. This lock is working flawlessly. I would definitely recommend this lock to anyone that has a deadbolt if you're interested in Wi-Fi/Bluetooth smart home devices

The August - Homekit Bluetooth Deadbolt Retrofit Smart Lock will be a very convenient addition to my home for my family, friends and others who I allow access to my house.

Nice looking and super easy to install. I hope they upgrade the application so it can be locked and unlocked using the widget instead of opening the whole app.

Easy to set up...easy to use...August Connect was also easy to setup and use...great gadget for those that like gadgets...

I like being able to walk up to the door and walk right in.

I love it I have it hooked up to my front door I unlock it from Anywhere I can pull up to my house and it unlocks so no more keys it's great

I had to do a little tinkering with my existing door due to the deadbolt not being compatible because it was so old. Anyway, it's working fine and is convenient with the auto unlock feature. I don't like that you need the wifi device to be able to control the lock remotely though. That's another $80 if you want that feature.

Great smart lock... easy installation. Provides peace of mind, if you forget your keys, or don't have them with you!

The August Smart Lock works well and functions how it should. My only caution is make sure your door jam and door are lined up properly. Our door doesn't fully shut and the lock doesn't have the strength sometimes to push its way into the door jam. Other than that we love it. Nice that it unlocks before I even get to the door.

I love this thing, you can access this when you are walking up to the door. All you have to do is press the big red button on your smart phone and the lock opens up.

Easy to install, simplifies entering and leaving home!

The lock was as easy an install as the web site was detailed and all went as explained. The drawback to this convenience is that if I exit to fill the bird feeders in the side yard and am gone more than the preset time, the door locks and I have not gone far enough for it to automatically unlock when I return.

Took very little time to install. There are many Youtube videos depicting the installation process. It's not necessary to watch one. Once installed, lock works well.
