I purchased two of the August locks (make sure you are buying version 2) for use on indoor, upstairs master bedroom & man cave Baldwin deadbolt locks. I downloaded the August app for iPhone, followed the "easy as pie" install directions and with only a Phillips screwdriver, had both locks installed, wifi connected and working perfectly inside of 20 minutes! If you want to control your locks remotely over internet, you will need a plug-in router accessory which is offered by August (available at BestBuy for around $30.00) which I recommend that you install after you have successfully connected your locks to your local network and all is working smoothly. This is a great piece if assistive technolology and the potential uses and benefits are numerous!

I love this item. It is such a convent item to have. Make sure you have good wifi when you are away from home. Also make sure you buy the white bridge to go with it. If not, it will not work.

Very easy to install and setup! Works well, but sometimes auto-unlock won’t work 100% of the time when I get home. Otherwise it’s a great smartlock solution.

Very easy to set up. Recommend the wifi-accessory. Connection to wifi can take some time each time. Included fitting insert doesn't work on my deadbolt so I had to take the largest one and put some tape to it.

Installation was flawlesa; paired with home kit and my apple tv 4k. The out of home access does work when you use an apple tv as a homekit hub. I really enjoy this lock and it has great connectivity!

Don't let the title fool you ... I loved the lock when I got it. Functionally, it was exactly what I was looking for. But there were two issues that made me go out and find a replacement: (1) the design; and (2) the materials. The Design: The lock is, quite simply, strange. It is a HUGE knob that replaces what is normally a much smaller key or turn lock. It was so big, it pushed the blinds on my front door to the side. Not only is it round in diameter, but it sticks out WAY too far. If they could have cut the size in half (and resolved the materials issue), I think it would be really cool. But as it is, it's just strange looking. The Materials: The lock feels like (I assume it is) made of cheap plastic. Even more strange, it feels and sounds like it's completely hollow - almost a hollow disc of plastic. It just felt CHEAP. That said, it didn't break (but I only had it 2 weeks until I replaced it) My recommendation: Skip this lock, and instead get the August Smart Door Lock. It's WAY better in design and material. It's a tiny bit loud, but otherwise, I love it.

I required a lock that would be compatible with my enhanced security system.

Had to get on the phone with August support a couple times so far but they are super helpful, professional and easy to understand. I had to re-calibrate the lock because it was locking all the way. The only other complaint i have is with auto unlock it takes a while for it to open the door for you. Unless your phone is not in sleep mode and you rise to wake then it opens the lock fast.

This is pretty awesome and super easy to install and set up. Needs new firmware update for iPhone 7 (just FYI)... but overall it's so awesome and I love that from the outside, no one can tell it's a smart lock!

Very happy with my first smart lock purchase. It is a bit pricey, but it works well. With just the August Lock and the App you can allow guests entry to your home (your guests need to install the app as well). With the August Connect installed, you can lock\unlock and check status of your lock over the internet. Integrates beautifully with Apple HomeKit. Note: Your Connect or Apple TV need to be in Bluetooth range of your Locks for this to work remotely. Features I really like: Auto Lock: I set me Auto lock for anywhere between 2-5 minutes. I never have to worry about locking the door. Leaving or arriving home, it just manages it for me. If is locked in the App... the door is locked and vice versa. GREAT FEATURE.

If you're in the market for a smart deadbolt, then look no further than the August Smart Lock HomeKit Enabled. It was easy to install and it works flawlessly. The app works great. I highly recommend this product.

My August smart lock is connected to the wifi using the bridge. It works great. Pretty much it work 98 times out of 100 times I open the door. I dont use my keys to get into the house anymore.

Installation was simple and straight forward. Remote auto unlock could be improved.

This has worked well for so long now. Had to change the batteries after 4 months but that's not a big deal. Considering I use the smart features exclusively and never use my key anymore. Great buy.

I purchased this item as a gift for a friend concerned about safety. He claimed it was easy to instal. Not only were the no issues with the installation, he is pleased with the ease of use.

Works better with iPhone than with Android. Overall it has great features!
