This is a great product. I just don’t like the fact that I have to buy a second wireless device that have to be plugged in the wall to be able to use this smart lock away from home.

I love the August lock. Super easy to install, easy to use and allows the exterior face of the door to appear “normal” while still having a smart lock. I have this on my home abs my rental properties.

This was a very simple upgrade. Installation was a breeze with the online instructions. Got this on sale with $100 off so it ended up being a good deal. I recommend this to anyone as it makes access to your home easy and secure.

Purchased for Apple homekit compatibility. It does not dissapoint

I bought this to alleviate the cumbersome task of getting out my keys and unlocking the door while carrying groceries, packages, etc. Install & set up was easy. I set it to auto unlock when I arrived home and it did just that about 98% of the time, but as weeks passed it began steadily dropping in performance and not auto unlocking. Recently I changed all the batteries and you'd think that would improve performance but the exact opposite happened now it auto unlocks approximately 20% of the time and many times there's zero connection between my phone and the lock. I have to open phone, click on the app and standing directly in front of the door wait & wait for it to connect and the door is a full glass door so it's not like the bluetooth is being blocked. I'm going to give it another week or so and if it doesn't improve I will remove it. Sadly I believe I'm pass the return window and am now stuck with a useless paperweight.

My son has a habit of losing his house key and I prefer to not carry around a pocket full of keys, so I purchased the August Smart Lock along with an August Smart Keypad as a way to eliminate the need to carry a house key. Installation of the lock was very quick and simple and can be done by anyone with some basic skills. The package included 3 different "fittings" that will work with many different brands of locks and worked perfectly with my Kwikset deadbolt. Fit an finish are high quality. You can still lock and unlock the deadbolt with the key or manually (from the inside) if you choose, but now we have the options of using the August app or Smart Keypad. My only complaint is that you have to purchase a completely separate device if you want to access your Smart Lock remotely.

I like the August lock system. Fairly easy to install. Customer support is pretty good. My only thing that I would mention is A/ It doesn't always open up on arrival home as it is blue tooth. B/ I would like to be able to have phone access from anywhere.... I didnt realize til after I bought it that it requires purchasing a "bridge" for that capability which I guess converts from bluetooth to wifi. All in all I am happy

Really easy to install. Up load the app on your phone, register & calibrate. Easy peasy, I programmed it to automatically open when I walk up to the door. Locks after 30 seconds. I also connected to Alex it’s awesome!!!

I love my August lock! I have had a few issues with it! My wife and mother-in-law can not use Siri to unlock the door. I have spoken with customer service ( who are very nice and attentive) couldn't figure out and sent the log note to the engineering team. But I have only had a couple of situations where the auto unlock didn't work but 90% of time is perfect! I have faith that August will continue to move forward and keep improving the lock!

Overall, I like it. There are some issues in locking and unlocking it remotely, but I'm working on that. I need someone at home to help with that when I try it again.

Setup was pretty simple and looks great. I have no issues with the device unlocking or locking. Something to note, if you step outside of your home and you've setup auto-lock, it will lock after a set amount of time(You configure this in the app, the default is 1 minute), but it will not auto-unlock as you try to reenter (if you are for example right outside of your front door). You will need to use your app to manually click the circle icon in the August app to unlock. However, if you leave a significant distance from your residence, when you return, it will THEN Auto-unlock, if you have set it up to do so.

So far so good, easy to install and to setup. Enjoying the auto unlock. The auto lock would be nice if only the amount of time to lock is shorter. 30s to 1 min is a very long time. Overall, It was a good purchase.

Works as advertised, easy set up installs in minutes

This is a good start to a great idea. The HomeKit integration is great but the lock had a hard time locking my door completely and the lock in general was slow to do it. I just thought is was too expensive for what it does.

This isn’t the most attractive thing I have in my apartment, but it does work reliably and was super easy to install. Though it has functioned more or less fine for several months, the manual rotation of the lock feels very rough and unsatisfying. Doesn’t exactly scream “high quality”. I guess that’s more of a nitpick, but I think a fair one at the price these locks are when current.
