Very easy to install and works as stated. Only downside is the hub must be purchased seperate in order to control remotely.

Normally I wouldn't spend this type of money on smart home products but this is definitely worth it.

This is the worst purchase I’ve ever made. Worked for maybe a week. I’ve called and complained and tried fixing the problem numerous times, but still does not work. I took the batteries out and just use it as reg door lock. Even the handle falls apart as I’m trying to close the door ugh. Waste of my money!!

I was provided an August lock and August connect as part of a special program and just love it! I am able to lock and unlock my door from anywhere in the world and it's actually come in handy. I was running late on night and the house cleaner was waiting for me so I just remotely unlocked the door for her and voila, she was in and off to work. I also love that the August lock unlocks automatically as I approach the door. On only one occasion did it not do so. The ever-lock feature is a plus and automatically locks your door 1-5 minutes after being unlocked (you choose the time). Just don't leave your phone or keys in the house behind you or you won't be getting back in. I had a Kevo lock prior to my August lock and just loved it as well. But, with Kevo I was not able to remotely lock and unlock my door or check the status of it being locked or not. I understand they are coming up with something similar to August Connect so that Kevo can do the same thing. In which case I recommend the Kevo as well. Kevo gets an A- and August gets an A+ for features. Welcome to the new world of home automation. I love it!

I have this on my front door and I love it. It seriously impresses my friends and means that if in an emergency I need someone to get in I can text them an access code, with full control for how long, etc. There are features that require the wifi Smart Lock router, such as having the door automatically unlock as it senses your approach (truly amazing). I think if you were doing Air BnB with rooms in your home or wanted to have controlled access to different parts of the house for guests or boarders, or on a rental property...this thing is great, as you can change up the access code and even customize for each one who will need to have access, with full control on setting and revoking access. You can have multiple locks at your fingertips on your iPhone through the app, which is simple and easy to use. I could go on and on. Saw it demo'd at a Best Buy event and was hooked.

I love this product. I bought it so I could let my cleaning lady in and my adult daughters when I am out of town. I bought the wifi module to accomplish this (this way I am still in the loop). The installation was extremely easy. The iPhone App is awesome. It was a little slow to connect at first, but soon after installation the App told me it was going to update the lock with new firmware to make it connect faster, and now it's perfect. If you want to control your deadbolt lock locally and over the Internet, you can't go wrong with this product. I highly recommend it.

Easy to use and beautiful. I am that person who is always locking myself out of my house or leaving keys for people under a mat, or a rock or behind the water meter. This was made for me. I can let people in and out of my house without having to make extra keys and hide them. This makes my life super easy. Would absolutely recommend it to friends.

I love the August smart lock, it definitely works better with iPhone when it comes to auto unlocking based on your location, pretty much doesn't work for my Samsung but I'm sure that will get fixed soon with an update. I love that feature when it works for my girlfriends phone and I love how it pairs to my airbnb guest and automatically creates an electronic key that only works while they have a reservation booked. It's amazing, just wish the auto unlock worked on my Samsung otherwise I'd of given it a 5 star review.

I've been wanting to purchase an August Smart Lock for some time now and I'm extremely glad I finally took the plunge! Installation was relatively easy, taking only about 15 minutes. The original lock can be replaced with ease for those renting like I am. The lock makes life so convenient. I never have to worry about having a key on me and have the freedom to grant visitors access into my home at any time. My roommates and I all have ownership of the lock and can therefore add any guests we please. You can also see who enters/ exits your home and when. The only downside is having to open the app every time you leave your front door. However, this can be easily remedied by purchasing the keypad (TOTALLY worth it!). Overall, I'm happy with the security and convenience of my August Smart Lock!

I decided to install the lock on a new door because i wanted to have the auto lock feature, the installation is very easy it takes a few minutes to setup. Once it setup you run a calibration , you unlock then lock. I push the Button to unlock on my phone and the lock turns green and unlocks, I pushed the button to lock and the lock gets stuck , it does not fully lock. It does not have enough power to lock the door. The door I installed the lock has a weather seal around it and causes the door to pop out a little when its unlocked. This mis alignment causes problem when its trying to lock its self. Locking it by hand is not a problem because you normally push lightly into the doors when you lock it.

This lock does not do what its intended purpose is: ensure that I never need to take out my keys. It fails at doing that and thus I would not recommend anyone buy it. A keycode door lock is much more reliable, requires no connections, and achieves the same end result. Several problems: The auto-unlock just does not work all the time, causing frustration when I get to my door and it isnt unlocked. This is dependent on the geo-fence that you set, and the bluetooth connection that does not work 10 feet outside my door. Wifi is not built in and for $250 it should be. Totally bogus that you need to buy a 50 dollar adapter for this functionality. Finally the nail in the coffin is that the door autolocks behind you at the time limit you identify. We chose 4 minutes. So, if you run out to your yard to do something the door is going to lock behind you in 4 minutes no matter what. So you better have your phone or your keys on you otherwise you're locked out. You also need to worry about someone incredibly sneaky getting into your apartment during this 4 minute window. The alternative is of course taking your keys out and locking the door, which again makes this lock pointless. An even dumber idea is that this lock syncs up to your Nest. When you lock your door on your departure, it turns the nest to Away. So basically forget it if you have anyone else that lives with you that might want heat or AC, cause when you lock that door that gets shut down. Stupid design. Stupid everything.

I'm no gadget connoisseur, but this one is one of the best purchases I've made. If, like me, you have a janitor's set of keys, and rummaging through your bag to find them every time you come home has become such a time-suck, this is the product for you! You might be thinking, "Just put your keys in a more accessible spot." But this guy does so much more than replace my cumbersome keys. I can unlock my front door from my car so that I don't have to put down all my groceries and such by the time I get there. If guests are coming to stay with me, I can let them in remotely instead of coordinating some complicated key exchange. If your phone dies, the mechanism still works the same way -- you can still use your keys. It's just a lot more convenient this way. Also, if you run out the door and forget to lock up, you can do so from anywhere. I love this thing.

Such a great lock! Even better than expected. From the slick packaging and design to the ease of installation of the hardware. The software took us a bit because we have horribly bad 90's internet so it took us maybe 10-15 minutes to download the software and then I think we screwed up the lock calibration misunderstanding the directions, but once we tried the factory reset and re-calibrated that way (took 2mins which we delayed worrying it would take longer) it now works perfectly everytime!.. And its so cool and extremely useful. Now I don't have to worry about forgetting my keys in the house or I can check if I locked the house from home. And that's before the main reason we got this -for baby sitters!!

I love this product. It has made my entry/exit from my home so easy regardless of how full my hands are with packages, groceries, dry cleaning etc. Took 15 minutes to install. Easy! Buy now!
