I purchased this August Lock as a way to avoid all the key exchanges with my Airbnb guests, house cleaners, etc. It's worked out well. The software has a few bugs, but it keeps updating itself as it improves. I'd say 95% of the time, it works without any problems. When problems arise, it's not affected inability to get in, only the "log" it keeps, showing coming and going activity with the different users.

Overall it has done alright. It's big and kind of ugly. But that's obvious when you buy it. My issues are with performance. The depth that is allows for the locking mechanism is VERY shallow. Consequently, my door barely locks. Meaning, the bolt does not enter the frame completely. Additionally, if you ever get locked out without your phone you're out of luck because there is not pin pad. Same issue if your wifi goes down. The "at-home" sensor works reasonably well. However, we have had situations where two of us come home together. Randomly 30 min later the lock will unlock when one of us uses our cell phone. We have an auto lock feature after 5 min, but still dangerous/annoying. As for the key pad, they sell one, but that is more investment that I'm not willing to make at this point. Finally, we were looking forward to using the guest key. However that is needlessly complicated and has never worked for us. A $100-$120 big name brand lock will probably work just as well if not better.

Now I do not need to worry about my kid losing his keys . Has worked flawlessly.

This is a great lock. It can work for the super experienced or product rookie.

I really like this lock and app. I’m using at a business that requires multiple electronic keys for my clients. So far I’ve had zero issues and my clients love it. The only problem I encountered during installation was with the door sensor. Be careful not to drill the hole to large. We had to put some excess paper around the sensor in order for it to not fall out. But it was a relatively easy fix. Definitely worth the money!

I have used this lock since I moved in new home. Initially, my wife complained why I changed the lock and she was very negative with this. But, now both I and she are very satisfied with the product. Only one concern is that it rarely loses the connection with my phone so that I have to wait to have a connection again. Except this, it works well, and I can open the lock at my office with the connect.
