From start to finish, may have taken 15 minutes to install and setup. Works great

So the lock is amazing! It's super easy to install (took me maybe 10 minutes) and all you really need is a screwdriver as they include everything else. The setup in the Apple Home app was a bit weird at first, but it ended up working itself out. Otherwise the August app works great. The only negative thing I have to mention is that sometimes when you approach the door it takes about 30 seconds before it unlocks itself, so it's not always as flawless as their videos appear.

Great device and easy to use. WiFi ready so no bridge needed and easy to install with existing hardware.

I can't believe I waited so long before picking one of these up - there's something borderline magical about not having to fish for your keys when your hands are full to open your front door. The only caveats are you have to wait a few seconds for the device to recognize your phone over BT. There's been a few times that I thought it wasn't going to work, but after 5-10 seconds I get the alert and the door is unlocked.

I have over 30 smart home devices, but this is one of my favorites. I had held off purchasing an August lock before because it was too big and clunky. But the fourth generation lock is much smaller and easier to use. I particularly like the auto-lock and auto unlock features. Yes, it is a tad pricey, but your smart home isn't complete until you have this device. I can't recommend it strongly enough.

Great door lock. It can take some time to auto unlock though hence knocking off the star. It also eats through batteries, highly recommend USB rechargable A123 batteries

Purchased the new generation August Smart Lock. It works well and would recommend it. The instructions were simple and installation took less than 15-20 minutes even after setting up Wi-Fi access. Love the convenience of the smart recognizing you have arrived home thru Wi-Fi and unlocks automatically each time. It’s great not having to search for keys.

3 stars. It works, but not as well as expected. I wanted a lock to automatically unlock the door as I approached. It's hit or miss. I have a Samsung S20FE, I've got it both bluetooth and WiFi paired to the lock and 8 times out of 10, I'll have to open the app and unlock the door. I also purchased the add on PIN pad, but it too is slow connecting to the lock that I mainly just use my phone. Great concept, not so great execution. I'd love to recommend because I like the auto lock and the design, but the function is not quite there. Maybe it'll be better in a future update.

Nice upgrade from the older models. A lot smaller but be ready to change out the batteries more often. In 4 months I've changed out the batteries twice. Just buy a 12 pack off of Amazon and you'll be ok.

Perfect lock while it worked, this lock has the best smart home integration I’ve seen and is super easy to install. My first one recently stopped showing all signs of life even after battery replacement. It worked flawlessly before that. I would of had to wait weeks if I did a manufacture replacement but luckily I got a BestBuy warranty, as was able to go swap it out in store the day it broke!

I had the 2nd generation & 3rd generation; I’m always updating to the latest technology, so it was a no brainer to update to the 4th generation. It’s leaps & bounds better in almost every way. It’s smaller, doesn’t require an external bridge & it’s always connected. Locking & unlocking is super easy, overall a great upgrade.

Super easy to install on the door within 30 minutes - I was skeptical of that after reading other reviews, but sure enough, it was very simple. I love that i can keep my exterior deadlock. As some of the other reviews mention, it took a while to hook up to wifi (probably 10 tries). But once it was connected, I haven't had any issues. I have considered buying a 2nd one.

This lock has been highly reliable and was super easy to install. The build quality is excellent; I don't feel like it's going to break. My friends/family use it every day to come and go, and it has yet to fail us. I like how it notifies me when people are coming and going. I loved it so much I went and bought a second one and the keypad.

Once it works it is great. I love integration with Google home. But if trying to install on a mesh network, or a wifi network where the 5.0 and 2.4 bands don't have different names, or difficult to turn off the 5.0 so it can link to 2.4 ghz, (Orbi) it is very hard to set up. Come on August!!!! MESH is standard networking for people into home automation. Get with it! All that being said. Once set up I find the features all very useful and reliable. Again, if you can getbit to connect to wifi, it 7sxa fantastic product. P.s. make absolutely sure 6ou have your location services, GPS, turned on while installing or it doesn't work. And it is not good at telling you it needs to be on.

The best new lock from August. The directions were easy to follow and it did not take very long to install. I've been using it for six months now and just had to replace the batteries once. Replacing the batteries was also super convenient. It can easily be integrated with your smart assistant of choice. The app is easy to use and it connected via wifi or Bluetooth.

Works great, its very convenient for my family and me. Just wish it would connect to my homekit its been having issues of not working with siri, but works great with its own app.
