Great memory keepsake

This is great memory keepsake for family members to share photos of events, special occasions, and growing family members from a far. I wasn’t to sure about a wifi/app photo sharing picture frame but this may have changed my mind.
It is very easy to setup and download the app which allows you to add pictures for display. You can also allow others to download photos to the frame via the app and keep sharing keepsake moments. The screen is a nice size although portrait photos are displayed with cropped sides or bars which is understandable, but you can get around this by displaying two photos side by side. Not really a big deal because it keeps the resolution and dimensions fairly accurate.
The frame itself is okay. I wish it were more of a wood look and feel to give it that extra aesthetic beauty but the photos that you display will most likely get the most attention. It has a nice touch sensitive button that is inconspicuous to allow direct setting adaption if you not already on the app and needing to make an immediate change.
I am enjoying it as my family and I live so far apart and not everyone uses social media, so this definitely a great gift idea for everyone to share. I do wish it had additional memory card slot to add photos this way other than the app. But overall, a great product.

In the box is the photo frame, the power plug and an instruction manual with quick start guide on inside front page.
Out of the box the photo frame is beautiful! Keep in mind to be careful with the top because there are buttons in the panel there that you can use to remove photos, move to the next photo or turn off the photo display. There is a tutorial when you first load the photo display on how to use the buttons. On the back of the photo frame is the power plug connection and the speaker for video or Live Photos.
Once you download the app, you plug in the power cord and start to sync the frame with the app on your device. I highly recommend using the device that you are going to pick photos or videos from, so you can do everything in one step. The app is very simple and walks you through each step. If you have the newer devices, keep in mind when you upload a Live Photo, it will play on the photo display. Once you have uploaded all of the photos and videos, you will have to go to the settings to change how fast the photos will play (slideshow). It was set to 3 minutes by default and you can as fast as 15 seconds. I really appreciate the smaller photos being paired together to fit the screen and I feel like the app recognized the faces in some of the photos because some of the photos had the same amount of people or the same types of colors; they just blended well together. If your video is more than 30 seconds long, the app will create a clip for you, the clip is the first 30 seconds of the video by default. You can click on the clip and change the clip to the area of the video that you would like to display. Also, with the photos, you can click on each individual photo and adjust the ones you want to center better or rotate.
The instructional manual states that there is no need for SD cards or expansion because the frame comes with unlimited photo storage. So far I have added three 30 second clips and 85 photos and the slideshow is running at shuffle every 15 seconds and everything is running smoothly. I did have a problem with uploading one of my clips but everything is working fine now. Also, the clips will be muted, which is a great thing in my opinion, turn up the volume on the frame if you would like to hear the sound.
Keep mind, you definitely want put the frame where there is a wall outlet because it is not wireless. The power cord is pretty long, so if your sit it on your office desk or on the table in your living room, you have a little length of cord to spare.
Overall, I love the actual frame and the photo quality, it looks like I am looking at the photos on my phone or tablet. I can definitely see myself purchasing more of these in the future for my family that live out of town that I don’t get to see much throughout the year and I would love to purchase one for myself for my office desk when I return back to the office.

Wow! This frame is sooooo cool!! The Aura app makes it so easy for my family to upload photos and they magically appear on my frame that sits in my kitchen. I’m so excited each morning to find new pictures of my grandbabies! I can easily scroll through the photos on the frame to show my friends. Even my son who lives in Korea can send me photos!! This frame looks so nice on my counter and catches everyone’s attention when they come to my home. The Aura app has lots of settings/options which I am still playing with but I find it super friendly and easy to use. I highly recommend this product!

I have always liked digital photo frames but unless I was willing to spend a ton had to contend with loading up an SD card and plugging it in. NO MORE! The Aura frame fits the bill for a great wireless device that I can now share pictures with easily. What's even better is that my whole family can add pictures on the fly so new photos can be on the frame even before we get home! Setup was easy, just download the app and follow the instructions. adding photos is as simple as clicking on them from your photo album on your phone. Some of these may be gifts in the near future!!

Parents would love this. Especially if they live out of state. I didn't know anything like this existed. Now I can stay connected to my family in another way that live many states away. They can send pics to my frame for us to enjoy. Christmas is coming up so more of these may be given so we can all share photos with each other. Just my opinion but I wish it showed a more random selection of photos. It's not a deal breaker though.

Wonderful gift for grandparents. You can load it up pre-gift giving and keep adding as you go on adventure. My mother in law watches it like it's TV! Couldn't be happier with the quality!

Nice frame EXCEPT there's a problem

I selected this digital frame because it can display both horizontal and vertical photos, unlike my previous one. I feared it would be too small, but the high quality of the display has a good, vivid impact. I bought it to display the 1,000+ photos from a trip in chronological order, and the option to do so works. Uploading is easy; just load 20 or so at a time. HOWEVER, the uploading function skips photos randomly, so some of my best shots are not available in the uploader. Aura replied swiftly to several of my emails about general set up, but they haven't answered my question about remedying this. I'm disappointed. It's a great frame, if this problem wouldn't bother you.

Preface
Let me start this review by giving you an idea of the experience I have with electronics and technology altogether. I spent five years in the Navy working on top secret electronics, which included radios, navigation equipment, multiple servers that served fourteen different pc’s, over a dozen antennas that fed through amplifier trays into receivers for pc’s to analyze. During this time I built a server at home and loaded up all my movies so that my coworkers could watch movies while on watch late at night (or whenever they wanted to slack off at work). I then went to work at an Intel fab, where I worked on giant equipment that uses chemicals to etch wafers. I built the web page that a fair amount of my fab uses to store and pass down information from shift to shift. I have built applications in multiple languages. I have a few apps on the Google play store. I built my own server at home that runs my own email server, a Plex media server, a DNS, and security camera server that takes streaming video from 6 cameras around my house. I think I’ve established that I’m not new to technology, troubleshooting, maintenance, or setting up devices.
Review
My wife and I bought this frame after comparing features from other brands of digital photo frames. The features that really appealed to us were cloud connectivity, no need for memory cards, no need for monthly subscription plans, the smart photo matchup, and the ability to play videos. This photo frame checked all of those boxes. My wife and I recently lost our daughter and planned to dedicate this frame to all of the memories we have with her. We received this photo frame and opened it immediately. I plugged it in and my wife started setting it up. After two or three initial attempts at connecting to wifi, we saw the connected message. I had my wife start adding photos, but as she was doing it, the frame disconnected from wifi. I assumed that maybe I had been too far from the router, the frame was going to go on a bookshelf that sits about 8 feet away from our router. I unplugged and took it around the area where we were going to end up displaying it. The connectivity issues continued. I rebooted my modem, my router, and the frame. I ended up factory resetting the frame and resetting it up, although this would later prove not to really make any difference. I somehow got it to connect again after several frame reboots. My wife added an album through the app and I was able to see a few photos, but now I saw ‘offline’ show up on the bottom of the pictures. She had spent over an hour looking through memories of our daughter, and this was a painful process for her. She hasn’t pushed herself to look through our albums until this photo frame came, because she wasn’t ready to deal with the emotions quite yet. Thanks for the extra deep pain Aura. I spent the next several hours troubleshooting this stupid frame. No combination of things would get it to completely work. It would load, at max, 5 photos that would loop. I was really annoyed by this. I have no issues with looking at FAQs and troubleshooting instructions from any company. I ran through all of Aura’s ‘fixes’ and nothing worked. Did I receive a faulty product? Most likely, but several other issues we ran into bother me about the whole product. My wife added videos and the app told her that videos weren’t supported. A video did display on our frame and did play. There is also a volume setting. The lack of attention to detail bothers me here. The level of quality control bothers me too. I know that it is possible for defective product to escape quality assurance, but if the issue is the hardware that is being used for the frame, then I don’t want to risk having a chip that works, but will go out right after the one year warranty ends. My total order price was $192.96 after tax. I have smart plugs that cost $10 and can maintain a better wifi connection than this photo frame. I wanted to setup this frame for my wife and I as we deal with grieving our ten year old daughter. Now, I get to return this frame just to do more research for another frame. I’ll order some other frame and it will take several more days to get here. I miss seeing my daughter’s face everyday and lousy quality control is making that gap longer. Do yourself a favor and look for a better product. I don’t order expensive products unless I do a lot of research, and I failed with this purchase. I would rather pay a subscription than deal with this kind of crap. If I would have bought this for a relative, especially an older one or one not so electronically inclined, they would have disowned me because of how troublesome it was.
TL;DR
I have a lot of experience with electronics… a lot! This frame met all the requirements my wife and I wanted for a digital photo frame. We wanted to dedicate it to our daughters memory. After hours of trying to make this thing work, I gave up. It was hopeless. Bad quality control means forever wondering how long a ‘functional’ unit will actually last. Save yourself the time and look elsewhere. There are other frames out there. I’m angry that I bought this. Don’t be like me, be happy, and look elsewhere.
