This is is a great product. Yes its universal, but Metra Online (through Axxess website) provides installation guides for many different cars. I have a Mercedes Benz S500 and received 4 pages of documentation and support phone number if I needed help (yes I called them). Did the impossible by adding an aftermarket Kenwood stereo in a Mercedes Benz and was able to keep the factory functioning steering wheel controls. Anyone can follow the instructions provided through Axxess website. Can also use a laptop to upgrade firmware or program the ASWC-1 to their liking.

I had Best Buy install a stereo on an older model Maxima that did not have steering wheel controls. When we purchased a newer model and installed the stereo ourselves we realized it needed this product. We were concerned that it would not work properly, because anytime you replace with an aftermarket product there is always the chance that it won't work very well. Works like a charm!

Very easy to install and works well. Directions were very simple as well.

This device allows your after market radio to be controlled by your factory steering wheel controls. I was a little upset with the price, however, now understanding that the way the controls communicate to each radio can be different, this device is well worth the money to keep the control in the hands of the driver so you do not need to take your hands off the wheel.

Easy to install Took less than 20 minutes and it works great

Easy to install. Works great. Only issue was when I was programming it, the manual said the next track function should be selection four when it turned out to be 10. I wound up programming it at each setting to map it out myself. Took maybe an extra 20 minutes but works great now.

Best buy team installed a new Sony stereo in my Nissan Titan (2018) I have full steering wheel control and auxillary port access.

I was debating whether I really needed steering wheel controls especially since between the interface and installation, it added about $120 to the already higher than expected total for the whole system. I am glad that I decided to go ahead and buy the steering wheel interface and installation. I use the steering wheel controls more than I did with the factory radio. I am glad that I spent the money and have operational steering wheel controls!

Not too bad. It works almost all steering wheel controls, but nothing like original equipment. Wish I was told about this when I bought the radio and they could have installed it when the had everything apart when installing the radio.

This unit was easy to install, although the lack of clarity on the pins on the factory adapter (for different models) were not entirely clear. Some research on your vehicle's default layout will be helpful.

This is a nice unit and does what it is supposed to. I did lose the ability to answer my phone using the steering wheel control. I took one star off as it did not retain functionality of all the steering wheel buttons.

Works as advertised but doesn't scroll through my favorites. When I want to go to my next favorite channel I have to push the button on the stereo itself. The steering wheel button goes to the next channel

Back in control from the steering wheel! 12 years ago installers unhooked it for installation and said they couldn't hook it back up. Was so excited to find out now I can have it back! Makes for safer, non distracted driving!!!

An absolute must have item. I purchased this item so that I could control my new cd player from my steering wheel instead of having to look over at my dvd player and reach for the buttons. It's convenient and easy to use.

It was a little difficult to find the wiring diagram for my vehicle and the instructions were not clear. I couldn’t find all the documentation on the website they directed me to either. Thankfully, I was able to google the diagram I needed and things went well after that. Now that it’s in, it works really well and no issues or problems.

The product is good and does the job. It is one of those things you probably can't do yourself, but the Geek Squad can and it is very helpful when driving. It's hardware that serves a purpose.
