This is actually quite enjoyable depending on the quality of your connection. I would still be careful of games that require tight timing. There can still be some noticeable lag.

Good asset and easy management! This was a gift for our son to use when we are away from home and don’t want to haul a ps5. So far so good!

Really cool concept would be cooler if you could play it away from home with your ps5 some way but if using around the house great option!

Purchased as a gift for my husband who loves to game. He generally uses remote play on his laptop, but I figured this would be nice. It’s more portable, feels sturdy, the buttons are responsive, and easy to get setup.

It might be deemed "official" by Sony, but unless Backbone sends out an update to reflect the buttons, you're gonna struggle remembering A is X, B is O, etc etc. Genshin Impact in particular shows ABXY as if an Xbox controller were connected. Least you can remap the buttons, both in-game and in the Backbone app, where you can also receive firmware updates for the controller. And to those with a 13 or 14 Pro Max yes. There is an adapter so that it can fit your phone as well. Nice call on their part. And if it doesn't happen to come with one, it's easy to place an order for one through the app!

My son loves this thing! You still have to be close to your PlayStation to use it but he can play it around the house. Received it yesterday for Christmas

Getting this on sale I’d say is when it’s worth it but it’s such a high quality product for your phone if you do game or don’t mind gaming on a smaller screen when away from home. Feels like a tinier Switch in my hands!

The perfect device for on the go gaming. I love that it’s the same look and feel as my PS5 at home. I do wish there were some grips or something for the bottom, feels kind of slippery at times.

Solid device, whenever I find myself with free time this is always an option. Having access to my PS5 / PC and Xbox Cloud games while being anywhere is pretty dope. Works really well with my iPhone 14 Plus.

Bought it as an alternative to the PlayStation Portal! You just need to install remote play app for PlayStation on your phone! Connects with ease!

Enjoyed using the backbone because I could chill on bed without sitting at my desk playing games. Can use ps remote play and play arcade games that apple provide. Great product.

After a few months of debate, i finslly ponied up snd bought one of these Backbones. My intent was to use it for playing older games (currently the original Final Fantasy VII), so sll i wanted was a functionsl controller, not concerned with the media stuff it comes with. As a control, this thing is pretty sweet, makes games so much more enjoyable than ising the touch screen. The backbone feels sturdy snd responsibe, well worth $100 IMO. That said, 2 weeks after i got this i upgraded to sn iphone 15 so now i need the usb C version. I liked the control enough to where i will cough up another $100 to get another.

Overall this is a good controller. Just wish it fit a phone with a case on. I used this with a 13 pro and have an Apple Leather case. The case is fairly thin but the controller does not fit with the case on. having to take it on and off is a dealbreaker for me. Other than that buttons feel good and I really like how it basically turns my phone into a PSP and the Playstation branding to match the PS5 is nice. The joysticks are a little low so I had to take a break every few minutes to stretch my hands. If the case thing isn’t an issue or you’re lucky enough to have a second iPhone it’s a good controller

My son loves his Backbone! It allows him to remotely play his PS5 on his cell phone when we go anyplace. I was impressed at how seamlessly the device mirrored his PS5 on his phone. The only downside with this purchase is that it will essentially be obsolete whenever we get him a new iPhone since the new phones come with a USB-C connection instead of a Lightning connection. I guess that when that time comes I'll either have to find a USB-C to Lightning adapter that is compatible with the Backbone or simply purchase a new Backbone that works with USB-C.

This is a must for any gamer. Can successfully remote play my PS, XB and certain mobile games (must support controller). No lag and super comfortable. Hit it on sale during BF. Totally worth the full price tag though.
