Really nice device - but the Backbone paid service is silly. This should be a one-time charge, not a service for something so basic. It's a shame Backbone is greedy - the hardware is nice but within a year there will be a dozen competitors priced 1/2 this or less, and there will be alternatives for the software that don't require a subscription. That being said, great to use, just don't pay for the service.

Mobile Gaming Like a boss (little "b".)

The Backbone is an awesome mobile gaming controller. Pair it with an AAA game streaming service like XBox's Clouding Gaming or NVidia's service and you're all set. One major negative is the need to subscribe to their service to use features other gaming controllers (Razer Kishi v2 anyone) offer for free. That's half of a star deducted. The Backbone feels good in the hand even though textured grips would have been perfect. While the face buttons have a nice concave shape and are comfortable under the thumb, the travel is long but functional. Then bumpers are good if not anything special and the triggers could have a more pronounced curve to nestle your fingers in. Let's take half a star for that. Overall, this is a great controller and one I still enjoy.

The product was great worked flawlessly but I did have one issue with the manufacturer of the product itself. It didn’t have anything to do Nothing with Best Buy themselves but this is my 3rd backbone I’ve had too buy. Around 6 months eventually one of the buttons will stop working and I have not dropped it or had any type of accidents with the backbone(I’ve tried recalibrating it etc multiple times) then eventually within that same day multiple buttons stop working. WHATEVER YOU DO BUY THE WARRANTY FOR THIS PRODUCT

Perfect for on the go handheld mobile gaming. I love the backbone UI and you do not need a subscription to play your favorite mobile games on it.

The product is responsive and intuitive. The overall construction feels like it is intended for adults as it is somewhat flimsy feeling.

I was a little skeptical about the backbone at first because I was not sure how it would work but I can say I'm very happy with how that works. I like that I can play my PS5 when I'm not even sitting in front of it and playing on a high-tech phone like I do, the Z fold series, the quality is even better because of the big screen and the great picture. The connection is very quick and so is the response time and handling

    Good But Not Great

Pros: Can charge phone while playing. Lightweight. Dedicated app for game libraries across multiple gaming platforms. Small controller that should fit most hands BUT didn’t feel uncomfortable in my giant hands. Cons: Way too expensive. Thumb sticks feel very cheap and a step behind even jocon sticks. Controller itself feels cheap itself and the price makes it feel even worse. While it can charge your phone while playing, more than likely it will just keep your phone at the charge it was when you plugged it in, it just can’t keep up charging while gaming unfortunately. No feedback. No vibration or anything with the controller, it’s annoying for those that want to feel something while gaming. The app doesn’t do the best job organizing your games or “remembering” your game library and the fact that you’re FORCED into a trail subscription to use the app is outrageous. Overall the controller feels cheap, doesn’t accomplish much besides being a gamepad for your phone and feels way overpriced. Honestly this controller feels like it should be $20 or maybe $30. It gets the job done but you won’t feel like you got your money worth.

Well I purchased on July 2. And today is Aug 21 and I’ve already had to do a warranty claim. The issue is when you open the controller, the ribbon cable instead gets messed up somehow causing the entire left side and joystick to become inoperable. Yet if you fully extend the controller then everything works just fine. Mind you it’s been a month. Moderate use 3-4 hours max per day.

Best thing for me because im an over the road trucker who likes to play video games on my downtime. It is definitely worth the buy for on the go gaming. It’s small and compact easy enough to use and brings me joy to be able to play video games with my kiddos while im away. Totally love this product best Christmas present i bought myself this year i would definitely suggest it to others who enjoy on the go gaming its quick and easy enough set up.
