Well, just like the reviews of every other wireless earbuds, the reviews for these are very inconsistent. The sound is fantastic. I would rank them the best I’ve heard in a truly wireless earbud. Close but not quite as good would be Jaybird Run, Bose free and Jabra sport elite. The seal you need to get for ANY pair of earbuds is crucial. If you don’t get a perfect seal the amount of bass is severely diminished. The fit of the b&o’s is great for me, they are snug but comfortable and I never feel like I need to adjust them. I like the tap controls also. You can control the volume on the buds which is very important to me anyway. I like the app the equalizer works great. The thing that’s encouraging about these is that they can be continually updated by b&o. I own other truly wireless buds that have been vastly improved by software updates. Some of those are: Skybuds, Jaybird, Bose and of course Bragi. I would encourage anyone that is thinking about buying these to ignore the negative reviews and give them a chance. I’m glad I did!

    Good but not Great

I'm an audiophile and have used several high-end headphones made by Sony, Audio Technica, AKG, etc. to produce and mix music. I needed hassle-free truly wireless earbuds to inspire my gym workouts and found these. Prior to purchasing the Beoplay E8, I used other wireless earbuds including the Bragi Dash, Jaybird Bluebuds X, JAM Ultra True wireless headphones and Jabra Elite Sport. Sound quality: The E8's sound is fairly balanced and offers distortion-free listening across all sound frequencies. They can get really loud! I wish they were a bit punchier with the bass response. You can increase the bass slightly using the app but it's still not a significant difference. It's definitely not up to par with the powerful low end I heard with the Jabra elite sport. The EQ adjustment in the app doesn't offer as much customization as I'd like. You can tap certain profile sounds to change the audio profile but you can't individually raise and lower the frequencies yourself. Comfort: Theses are very comfortable to wear. No complaints here. Bluetooth Performance: The pairing process is fairly easy and consistent. However, Bluetooth connection is not entirely solid. The recent firmware update allows for better connection between the buds and the Bluetooth source. However, I experience several drop outs when using these at the gym. For example, I experience infrequent dropouts when placing my phone on the treadmill and running. The phone is literally within 5 ft of the buds. When placing the phone on the ground (again, within 5 ft) and doing crunches, It's almost unbearable how many times they cut out. I assume it's because I placed my hands around my ears when doing the crunches. Regardless, this shouldn't be an issue for a product priced at $300. I did not experience these cutout issues with the Jabra Elite Sport at all. There is zero lag when watching videos! Features/App integration: The microphone pass through (aka, "transparancy mode") works but the sound coming in from the left earbud is louder than the left. This is significantly noticeable. The earbuds also do a poor job at processing and leveling really loud sounds coming through the mics. Everything sounds "crunchy". The audi call quality is acceptable. The earbuds pair to an app that allows you to customize the EQ and spacial quality of the music. The battery life is as advertised. The tap controls work but take time to adjust to. I wish the surface was a bit easier to interact with. The shape of the tap area is circular with a sharp edge. If the edge was more rounded, it would make the tap controls easier to use. Product quality assurance: There is a noticeable difference in audio level with the left and right buds. The left buds are slightly louder than the right. I hear more bass frequencies pass through with the left. This is extremely noticeable when using the spacial adjustment in the app. The audio just doesn't sound leveled. This is actually a consistent issue I've experienced with the other brands as well (Bragi, Jabra). Final thoughts: I had very high hopes for these since I LOVE Bang and Olufsen products. My Audi is filled with B&O audio system and the sound and spacial customization is just amazing. I can't say the same for this product given the bluetooth limitations and sound quality.

    Connection Issues With Android Phones.

The connection issues if you are using a late model Android phone are REALLY complicated and B&O doesn't really know what to do about it. The first time out of the box they paired up with my Galaxy Note 8 and worked fine. That lasted a day. The next day when I went disconnected them from my laptop and went to reconnect them to the GN8...the pairing was GONE! No worries I thought just repair them and go. Uh-uh. The phone would only see them as "paired but not connected." For anything. Useless. I Googled, I searched, I factory reset them, spent a half an hour on the phone (using my old wireless headset thank you) with B&O in Denmark, discovered there's even a YouTube video on this problem. NOTHING WORKED. Then miraculously when trying one of the solutions suggested in the vid they suddenly decided to behave and paired up! That lasted four days during which I successfully used them with my phone, my laptop and a wearable at different times with no problems. Then on day 4 the dreaded "paired not connected" indication on my phone. They STILL won't pair with my GN8 no matter how many times I try. They work fine with everything else but not my phone. They're going back. At $300 they should wash the dishes for me NOT cause me to waste my days fighting with a broken pairing problem. As a post script I can say the sound is good...on my devices it was NOT loud...I ran at full volume all the time and wished for a little more. The base is good..not great but good. And the mid range and high end are excellent and clean. They do NOT use the APTx Bluetooth codec...I tested that extensively...they DON'T. They do use the AAC codec but that's an Apple thing. My devices are other brands. AND oooohhhh...the pairing problems. If they happen to work on your phone you'll be happy...but if they don't you will want to hit yourself in the head. 'Nuff said.

Probably the best sounding wireless earbuds in the market. Bluetooth pairing to a single device limits general usefulness with multiple Apple iOS products. Good Beoplay software control. It's hard to hear oneself when in a phone call but the call quality is good. If not for these limitations (where Apple's AirPods excel), they would be 5-star. Tonal accuracy and clarity are superb. Only recommend to users with only one bluetooth device. One of the smallest earbuds in the market. Excellent build quality, especially the charging case. Fits perfectly and secure. If you can live with the above pairing limitation, they are wonderful.

I choose Beoplay E8 and returned the new Bose Sports Free based on the following obvious reasons even though E8 costs $50 more: 1. Sound is more well balanced and richer compared to Bose SoundSports Free which emphasizes too much bass. 2. No audio delay when watching video such as YouTube. Bose Sports Free has about 2 second delay and makes movie unwatchable. 3. Memory foam tips seals the ears comfortable and blocks outside noise. 4. Receive call on both buds. Bose Sports Free receive call only on right bud. 5. Very intuitive touch control and make E8 small footprint and look like a normal earbuds. Everyone made laugh at me when I wear the gigantic Bose SoundSports. I have been owning and purchasing only Bose products for the past 10 years and was disappointed on their latest earbuds. That make me to switch to E8.

I SOOOOO wanted to keep these. Alas, after trying two pairs, I'm going to be returning them. They sound, and fit, great. I love the touch features. HOWEVER...THEY BREAK THEIR BLUETOOTH CONNECTION FREQUENTLY!!! Mind you, I'm techy enough to work through virtually any problem you throw at me. But, these things will drive you nuts. Once they lose their connection, you're hosed, and have to do a FULL RESET to get them back again. Problem is, the procedure involves putting them back INTO THE CASE; something impossible to do if you're out and about, biking, running, walking, skiing...you name it. B&O tech said, "gee, that's not normal, can you please return them." I gave it a shot, knowing it probably wouldn't be any better. It's a hardware implementation problem. IN FACT, the tech even volunteered the fact that the Apple AirPods use a proprietary bluetooth connection that just can't be matched. Sure, the dropouts are annoying, and something AirPods NEVER have. HOWEVER, ONCE AGAIN, THE ISSUE IS A COMPLETELY BROKEN CONNECTION with your iPhone...not drop-outs. It's too bad, because these fit great, have no delay for audio/video, and are much smaller than the BOSE. But, at TWICE THE PRICE of the AirPods, I'm afraid to say that these are a solid MISS and I can't endorse them at all.

My wife and I both have these earbuds and love them. The touch controls took some getting used to but I love how they are very responsive to commands. A few reviews say they sound tinny/aluminum can.... but I can say getting the correct earbud tips for your ear is the solution. These come with many different sized earbud tips and even a memory foam set. I didn't have much comfort with any of them, so I ended up buying a package of foam earbud tip replacements at Best Buy. Talk about a game changer! After getting the right tip for my ear they sound even better and the bass response was dramatically better. Some reviews did mention connectivity issues but I can't say I've never had any issues. The only time they would cut out is if I walked down the hall and into another room and left my phone in my gym. My phone doesn't need to be on my person for good connectivity. It stays stationary on a table and works flawlessly throughout the gym area at home (22ftx18ft) and the gym offshore (80ftx70ft).

    Solid performer with my hardware

Good reviews and bad reviews are often determined by the combination of the hardware with the device and variations in individual production models. EarPods don't fit my ears so II bought the Jabra 65t after all the great reviews. I got constant stuttering and the sound seal was not great. Took them back and before giving up on wireless decided to give these a try. So far they have been solid performers with my iPhone8. I walk a mile and ride the train for half an hour most days and the connection is solid at every step. Maybe tiny two skips in a week and a half of commuting. On the weekend while crossing the street and playing the phone they started to stutter so I reconnected bluetooth and all fine again. The sounds is great, battery life is on part with upper average and sound seal is right. As an added bonus these are the only gel tips that I have found comfortable so no need to buy foam tips. Nearly three weeks since I bought them and very happy. For the kind of device and technology they work great.

Wow, this product has a really clean sound. The transparency mode on this device is well tuned. It has three options based upon your situation. The touch controls are real comfortable in my ears and they headphones feel light.
