Looks great, story is good, gameplay is just ok

The positives first: 1) The game looks really good 2) The story is pretty solid for the most part 3) The on-foot action is pretty good The negatives: 1) Way too much batmobile stuff, and it is pretty much all just tacked-on and unnecessary 2) Way too many side things to do for a story-driven game that are just not fun 3) You need to do all of the side stuff to experience all of the story I think the amount you will enjoy this game comes down to how much you enjoy playing with the Batmobile and I didn't care for it. I also did not want to have to do 243 Riddler challenges (some of them using the horrid Batmobile) to see all of the story and it got to the point where it killed my desire to even play the game. Some people really enjoy the game, but it was just not for me. I'd recommend renting it if you can first to find out what your tolerance will be for the Batmobile stuff.

I've been wanting to play this game since it was announced and now I finally got the chance after getting a PS4 before Thanksgiving. This game is everything I wanted with an engrossing story and great graphics. I can't wait to see what Rocksteady cooks up next.

Arkham Knight is the final game in the Batman Arkham series. Its a mix of stealth, action, and tank combat. Personally, I believe that the tank portions of the game overshadow the stealth aspects of the game, which was what made the Arkham series popular to begin with. The team at Rocksteady absolutely nails Batman, his enemies, and his allies in terms of characterization. The story was very exciting and kept me guessing the mysterious Arkham Knight's identity until the very end. I suppose to the game's benefit and detriment, that there are more characters to play beyond Batman. While they are diverse and play differently, the game gives you little to no time to play with them, and even less time exploring Gotham with them. That being said, there is enough side content that deviates from the main story to keep you engaged long after Batman's night is over. Overall, I would it an 8/10.

The game is awesome, but the first pre-owned one was malfunctioning & I had to exchange it. I'm not a fan of buying used games, but at least they changed it for one that works.

This is by far, the best Batman game. They did a great job of expanding the story. The addition of the Batmobile makes it way more fun too. All of the DLC was much better than in past games. There is enough stuff to keep you busy for months.

Over all another great Batman game from Rocksteady. Plays similar to previous Batman Arkham games so jumping back into the game is fairly easy if you've played the other ones in the series. Only "complaint" is that the new driving mode, the Batmobile, can be finicky at times (not smooth to operate, which is frustrating for completing Riddler trophies).

i finished this game in about a week, which should be illegal. its very fun to fly around the city with the wings and once you've got the controls down it's easy peasy. great story. Jason Todd is the Dark Knight... sorry kiddies.

This is a relative review. On it's own, it's a 3.5/4 star game. I gave it three stars based on comparing it to the previous Arkham games, all of which I thought were better. My main beef was with the Batmobile. I couldn't wait to play it, and at first it is fun as heck to drive around, running over and/or blowing stuff up. But the controls were horrible when you needed to be exact and precise, there were times when I actually hated and despised driving the Batmobile, and to compound the problem they made the Batmobile way too integral to finishing the missions of the game. 60% of this game felt like a run-of-the-mill racing game, and not a very good one at that. Even the Scarecrow and Keaton Batman add-ons are driving-centric. I loved all the past Arkham games because it really felt that playing as Batman in those games was as perfect a Batman experience as you could get; unfortunately, this game offered the least amount of actual Batman game play. That was a huge minus, and one that made this game feel like half the Batman game the prior Arkham games were. That's not all that was wrong with this game. The identity of the antagonist was entirely obvious to anyone who's read a Batman comic in the last 10 years. There was very little Batman vs. Supervillians matches in this game compared to the prior one's. And that ending... SPOILERS ... much like the ending to the Dark Knight trilogy, if the writers really think Batman is just going to quit for any reason, they obviously know very little about the Batman mythos. And I'm not even counting whatever that Bat-shadow-demon thing was supposed to be at the end. The only aspect that really saved this game from being a total let down was the amazing voice work of Mark Hamill as the Joker. Even his dialogue was fantastic, having me laughing out loud many times. Great work all around there. I would still recommend this game, but much more to racing game fans than Arkham/Batman fans. Still, though, I hope Rocksteady isn't done with DC properties. With all the Justice League hints and easter eggs in the game, it would be great to see them take a crack at a JL game, especially with the movies coming up soon.

A fitting conclusion to Rocksteady's trilogy

Batman Arkham Knight is the conclusion of Rocksteady's critically acclaimed "Batman" video game series, which was first released in 2009. The game has all the usual trappings you'd expect from an "Arkham" game, in addition to a slew of new gadgets, skills and of course, the Batmobile. The story is very good overall, though my one criticism is that the game expects you to finish with 100% completion and finish ever side mission and objective to get the "true" story mode ending. I understand incentivizing side quests, but don't necessarily agree with the idea of not getting the final payoff of the story without completing them. Overall, definitely recommended for action game fans and of course, comic fans.

    The Best of the Worst

    Posted .

In some ways this is the best in the Arkham series, and in others it is the worst. The mission variety is incredible and is really where the game is at its strongest. Each of the super villains has a unique style of mission, and chasing them down throughout the night is when you really feel like you're playing as the Batman. What can be frustrating is the Batmobile, a vehicle that is never as thoroughly explained as it ought to be. For example, you don't want to hit the boost when driving on walls. You want to keep your acceleration high enough, but also even so you are still able to keep control. Yet the game never really informs the player and certain missions can become a repetitive slog trying to perform a stunt as perfectly as the designers desired. When the Batmobile works, it works well, but it never feels like you're the Batman while piloting it. That so much of the story missions require it, and even repeat some of the obstacle courses in frustrating ways, just hurts the game in the long-run. However, some of what's available in the story is the best you can get from a Batman game, it acts as a largely satisfying conclusion, and the majority of the game is still a lot of fun. It's just a shame that there's not enough open-world activity. As populated as the game is, it really felt like the story was getting in the way of the best Batman simulator out there.

This game is so good I bought it twice :) After I finished the game I loaned it out and it was accidentally broken. Even though I was done with everything I picked up a second copy when Best Buy had a super sale on it. It's a perfect game though, even at full price. If you're at all familiar with the Arkham series, this is it. It's the culmination of all the great things the series was about. Great mechanics, stunning visuals, wonderful story. Get the game.

I have played all the recent WB Batman games on either PC or PS3. This does not disappoint. Some of the best graphics I have personally seen on the PS4. Seeing the all the graphic details like water bead-up on Batman's cape is amazing. The gameplay is exactly what you would expect from the franchise. Nothing radically new but rock solid all around. A must have for PS4 owners in my opinion and a definite must have for fans of the franchise.

The game is good. I mean it's an Arkham game so it's essentially the same as all the others. The riddler trophies are not very creative this time around. It is a pain to be forced to use the Batmobile so much and to always be forced to have these stupid tank battles. The Arkham Knight character is lame and his boss battle is absolutely horrible. The overall story of the campaign is bad. The game however is still fun enough to play but hopefully this really is the last game. I've heard rumor of a sequel to Origins. Sigh.

    disappointing end to arkham trilogy

For those who played the first two arkham games, you will be disappointed by how the story turns out in the final game of the arkham trilogy. The combat is mostly good outside of when you're not using the batmobile. As most review outlets have said in their reviews, the batmobile is heavily forced on you and the game's pace slows down when you have to use it in tank mode. If you have not played the previous arkham games, you may enjoy the story more but for me, I did not enjoy it as much as the other two.
