Doesn't change the formula, but still solid

This game's main critique is that it barely changes the formula from Arkham City. And that's true, but why fix what isn't broken. The story is by far the best feature of this game.

Not the best in the series, but the combat shows batman at his greatest potential. Worth the experience.

Fun continuation of the Arkham Series

If the formula works, sometimes it's best not to mess with it. Arkham Origins takes the familiar gameplay of the last two Batman games and creates a nice little narrative based on the Caped Crusader during his early years. Unfortunately the games lacks the overall polish of Arkham City or the unpredictability of Arkham Asylum, but is still a fun ride if you are itching to get back to Gotham.

This is a good a good installment of the Arkham series. The actors who do the voices are amazing and the storyline is top notch in my opinion. I recommend this game if you like the other Arkham games.

    Amazing story but same gameplay

Amazing story playing as young batman as he meets many of his famous villains for the first time. The plot is great and solving crimes with high tech devices as the worlds greatest detective is so much fun. The problem is if you have played Arkham city and Arkham Asylum to death like I have the game feels exactly the same with not much changed. As a younger batman it would have been nice to not have all the gadgets and the great fighting skills he has in the other games. It would be nice to see the origin of batman as rookie crime fighter to what he is in the other games as opposed to being super awesome or even better than he was in the last games .

I loved this game. Much improved over the previous versions, especially the boss fights. The boss fights were fun and different and something I hope the series can continue with.

Fun game if you enjoy the Arkham series. Adds some details to the story but doesn't add too much to gameplay compared to Arkham City or the general experience.

After reading all the harsh reviews, I was pretty skeptical on picking up the first Arkham game without Rockstead at the creation table. But after seeing how cheap it was on Black Friday, I said what the hay. And wow, am I pleasantly surprised. This game is incredible! It's every bit as addicting as Arkham Asylum was and every bit as stunning as Arkham City was. And the audition of a multiplayer feature should keep you gaming for a very long time to come. So do yourself a favor and splurge on this gem, you won't regret it.

Batman Voice: "I'll don the cape one last time"

Lol, really enjoyed this game. I've played both Asylum, and City so I'm satisfied I can say once again I was proud to don the cape one last time as the Dark Knight on the PS3. Can't wait for Arkham Knight on PS4.

I have not played it personally, but my son has played the first two in this series, and loves this one, as well. Some of the new features make the game more interesting than the previous ones.

A fun time, but not a "must-have" experience.

Overall, this is a good game. And while this isn't a bad thing, the recurring feeling of "it's good" I felt while playing through Arkham origins falls short of the greatness that was the two Rocksteady developed predecessors. The story is decent enough and the gameplay/presentation is largely the same as before. However, it's missing the little extra bit of spice and fan service which has made the franchise so great.

    3rd Installment of Arkham

    Posted .

Batman is back with the 3rd installment of the "Arkham" Franchise. However when I play this game it feels like Im playing an extension of Arkham City (arguably the best in the series). which is why I waited until Black Friday to get it for $29.99. Many players will be frustrated with the Deathstroke boss fight early on. The game developers must have took in consideration that Deathstroke is a master fighter because is is tough. Honestly it took me over an hour to beat him. Mostly spend trying to time his attacks and time the counter attacks. Good new is it only gets easier from there. Overall its seems like they just recycled the engine from Arkham City and added new enemies. I can't wait for the new generation of Batman games. Maybe the new generation could be called Batman: Gotham City and so on with a new franchise because the Arkham franchise has ran its course.

Not as good as other Arkham installments.

Arkham Origins is not quite as good as Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, but WB Games Montreal did a good job of making it as close to Rocksteady's Batman games while adding their own new features. Like they say, if it's not broken, don't fix it.

    Great addition for Arkham Series

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This is overall a welcome addition to Arkham Series. All the gadgets from previous series are still there except for 1. However, that 1 is replaced with a very similar function gadget but more awesome (which is a plus). If you already played Arkham City, this feels like a huge DLC with 1 additional gadget or minor tweak. The combat system is not as smooth as the previous game, but still great. There're some game glitches, but a very minor one (such as map icon is still there even though you already complete the mission. The bad guys are still standing around and talking even though you already killed him). However, that doesn't kill the enjoyment of the game at all. Hopefully Rocksteady will take back the development of the next Arkham Game.

    Decent Batman Game

I love both Arkham Asylum and City, but this game is decent at best. Don't get me wrong, its still a fun game to play, but to me it really never should have been made. It uses the same map of arkham city just with another area added with a long bridge to navigate. The game has some bugs and glitches along with choppy framerate. Boss battles are OK (Deathstroke battle was awesome and challenging). Overall, the game is fun but average at best, Warner bros could have just waited for rocksteady, who is making the awesome looking Arkham Knight for next gen systems.
