While the game play for both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City played well, Arkham Knight has too many glitches, constantly crashes, the controls for some of the gadgets used in the game changed from the previous 2 games.

I thought I was getting an awesome value until I realized the games had to be downloaded to play. If I wanted digital games, I would have waited for a sale on the eshop. Such deceptive packaging and advertising. I could not access the games to rate them, I would need to buy another memory card to play them which increases the price. Thank goodness I realized this before opening the package. Back to the store the game went.

Batman: Arkham Nintendo Switch - A Mixed Experienc

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Firstly, let me start by saying that the first two games in the Batman: Arkham series, Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, are nothing short of amazing. They set the bar high for superhero games and delivered unparalleled gameplay and storytelling. However, when it comes to Batman: Arkham Knight on the Nintendo Switch, things take a bit of a dip. One can't help but notice the noticeably subpar graphics and frame rate in Arkham Knight compared to its predecessors. It's disappointing to see a game with such potential not fully living up to its expectations visually. However, despite these technical shortcomings, the game still manages to be enjoyable. The storyline of Arkham Knight is engaging and immersive, allowing players to once again step into the shoes of the Dark Knight and defend Gotham City against its most fearsome foes. The combat system is fluid and satisfying, offering multiple ways to take down enemies and showcase Batman's impressive skills. Exploring the open-world environment of Gotham City is also a treat, with numerous side quests and secrets to discover. While the graphics and frame rate may be lacking, the game's overall fun factor compensates for these shortcomings. The thrill of swooping down from the shadows and taking out a group of thugs is as satisfying as ever. The inclusion of the Batmobile adds a new dimension to gameplay, allowing players to traverse the city in style and engage in thrilling vehicular combat. Now, onto the topic of patches and improvements. It's understandable that as a player, you would hope for a patch to address the game's graphical and performance issues. It's worth keeping an eye on developer response and player feedback, as they may consider enhancing the game's performance on the Nintendo Switch in future updates. In conclusion, Batman: Arkham Knight on the Nintendo Switch is a mixed experience. While the graphics and frame rate fall short of its predecessors, the game still manages to deliver an enjoyable adventure as you step into the boots of Gotham's Dark Knight. With a captivating storyline, engaging combat mechanics, and an expansive open-world to explore, it's a game that fans of the series can still find themselves getting lost in. Here's hoping that potential patches and improvements will enhance the overall experience on the Nintendo Switch. : Batman: Arkham Nintendo Switch - A Mixed Experience Review: Firstly, let me start by saying that the first two games in the Batman: Arkham series, Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, are nothing short of amazing. Great Story Telling, Terrible Game Play

    Posted .

This is for Arkham Asylum only as I have not made it to the other games at this point. The graphics and story telling are top notch, and it really transports you to the location. However, this is a classic example where developers were more concerned with story telling than actual game play. Objectives are difficult to determine, it's hard to figure out where to go from point to point, and, while you're struggling to find out what to do next, the Joker is taunting you every 15 seconds with a non-stop loop of about 5 insults that just get annoying after a while. There are also certain animations that you are forced to go through i.e. pressing a button repeatedly to pull open/kick out a grate to crawl through. Which is okay, until you realize that there are about 300 grates that you need to pull off, which, again, just gets to be annoying because you have to go through the animation every time. The first 5 - 8 minutes of the game are you being forced to walk through the asylum at an agonizingly slow pace following the Joker as he is wheeled into his cell; also not my idea of a great time. Hoping that the other titles in this series are better, but the first game has definitely disappointed thus far.
