The box for the game needs to be in big font. Deceiving! You need to online access to play the game. That probably explain the cheap pricel

BF2042 For PS5 is Stunning with tons of potential

For casual Gamers: Pick this game up you wont regret it, no doubt. For Everyone else who isn’t causal: Yes you must have heard that this game has bugs from server issues, Bullet Registration, and more. This game is 100% worth it, the game has a TON of potential from its three gamemodes. All out warfare, Hazard Zone and Portal. Its incredibly fun and once all the bugs and what not get squashed it will be literal perfection for any BF fan. Keep in mind one of the best Battlefields to have come out, Battlefield 4, launched in a much buggier worse state than 2042 is currently. Overtime the game will be straightened out. Long story short, Its a must buy but if youre not convinced then give the game a couple of months and reconsider buying in about 4-6 months.

It was very buggy at first but it’s getting better and for the half off price it was definitely worth it.

I was prepared to be dazzled as this was the first game I bought for my new PS5, now that I finally found on in stock a year and a half after release. Visually, I'm not all the disappointed. The maps, some familiar, some brand new, do look amazing and the way in which you can alter the terrain by demolishing buildings and such w/vehicles remaiins impressive to this day. However, (3-stars indicated there is a catch, right?) the gameplay experience is clearly an afterthought. It is routine to die immediately upon spawn as it is total chaos. Imagine an actual battlefield in 2022 where there are no coms for anyone on the ground. You'd have entire divisions slaughtered with the left hand not knowing what the right is doing- This is the BF2042 experience, and the only one available as there is no campaign offered this time around. On the plus side, matchmaking (at least with cross-platform enabled) is quick and relatively efficient. Gone are the long wait times associated with loading/matchmaking on the last couple of BF games on the PS4. There is a sort of blandness between the characters too. As just about anybody who reviews this game has mentioned, there are no particularly distinctive aspects among the available characters you can select from. All are sort of a jack-of-all-trades and so there is no real synergy within your squad, which further lends itself to the bloodbath free-for-all nature of the combat, regardless of which mode/map you play. In the end, you have your head on a swivel the entire time and are either sniped or blown up by an artillery round that you never see coming, often within less than a second of spawning onto the map. This does not improve much with gear/skill as you progress up the ranks.

Game has some bugs, but overall its a really enjoyable shooter. The games are really fun compared to cod. If you can get this game for under $40, id highly recommend it.

BF2042 started off nasty but has changed into a fun and intense FPS that I play almost every day. The only thing that bothers me is the fact that if you turn off cross play it is pretty much impossible to find a match. I would much rather play against other console players since PS5 doesn't support mouse and keyboard for this game. But nevertheless it is still a blast to play.

Battle Royale game masquerading as Battlefield

    Posted .

Game is horribly broken with many many bugs. Not a traditional Battlefield Game. Massive maps that are mostly open fields between objectives and so many vehicles that you constantly wonder why there never seems to be one available so you can drive from point A to point B. Maps are cool for a hot second until you realize that lack of cover makes you a prime target for snipers, campers and vehicles. Last 3 patches have made the game worse every time. Time to wait before getting into a match is very long as the player base has dropped from around 100,000 people at launch to just around 5000 on PC. Console platforms also show a lack of playerbase given the very long wait times to get into matches if you aren't playing at peak usage which depends on where you are located and which servers you can access. By the way, you can't pick which servers you join nor see a server list anywhere. Publisher (EA) and Developer (DICE) have been quiet these past few weeks with no news on how they are going to fix a game that some pad as little as $60 and as much as $120 not just 2 months ago. This isn't a Battlefield game. This is a poorly converted Battle Royale game type that had a last minute change into an extremely bland Online shooter..... with broken hit registration. You shoot another player and see the bullets go straight through with zero health removed from the enemy player. Then they shoot you and you're dead. Oh did I mention you can fall through the map at any point?

This is a very underwhelming game. So many things don't make much sense. Pros - 1. Portal Mode is more fun than the other 2 modes.. 2. Breakthrough provides good, chaotic shooty shooty moments. 3. Robot doggo is cool Cons - 1. Login servers take a long time to connect to, usually multiple attempts. 2. Huge maps where you run for 10 mins and get sniped out of no where. 3. Music is terrible. Doesn't rouse you up or instill a sense of excitement. 4. Graphics are not a step above BF1 and BFV. 5. Class system - I was not initially worried about this. I do not care how my character looks; its more about choosing an active and a passive ability. And more freedom the better right? Right? No. Almost everyone ends up equipping the AA or RPG to take out the vehicles. No one plays as the support providing ammo or med crates (including me since the AA/RPG are actually more important, and I loved playing as a medic in the previous BF games). 6. All the bugs every one else has mentioned.

Battlefield 2042 launched in a failed state. It honestly had a rough life fir a long time while it continued to get updates. The game is now extremely fun and interactive. It once again highlights the only in Battlefield moments that only a Battlefield title can provide. Even in its current state of working fantastic they continue to update and add. The reality is if jump into the game and play the objectives you will absolutely have a blast. Enjoy!

    Broken Promises (and game)

It has been a few years since I wrote a review for a game, but I feel like this needs to be addressed for anyone considering Battlefield 2042. It is simply unacceptable to pay seventy dollars for this game in its current state. Lobbies rarely have 128 players and gameplay is severely dampened by glitches. Additionally, missing legacy aspects (such as a functioning scoreboard) make this feel like a blatant cash grab by EA. The response from the developers has also been VERY lackluster. Players will receive a functional scoreboard... in February. An unnecessary rework has been done to make an extremely ugly scoreboard when previous iterations had such clean scoreboards. VOIP was inexplicably missing at launch. I feel like I got burned by a company that I trusted and that is solely my fault. I just hope to help others avoid my mistake.
