Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the enjoyable gameplay, immersive story, and engaging single-player campaign of Battlefield Hardline. Many also praised the action-packed nature and affordable price point. However, some players expressed disappointment with the size of the maps and the selection of vehicles. The game's overall reception appears to be positive, despite these minor criticisms.

    Great twist on classic Battlefield.

For the record, this is going to be a review on almost SOLELY the multiplayer (online). I mean, who buys Battlefield for the campaign, amiright?? While this is a great twist on classic Battlefield, I would rather it had taken a slightly different direction. The cops and robbers thing is definitely a cool concept, but the ultimate separation of factions is fairly drastic. The game modes are really great. Hotwire is GREAT fun; especially with a squad or team of friends. The robbery attack/defense modes are fun. Team Deathmatch is usually what I start my Battlefield experiences with to unlock & level up quick. TDM has a good bit of bugs to work out. The spawning, thus far (2 days after release), is absolutely absurd. 50% of deaths/kills are from someone spawning right in front of you or you spawning in front of them. The weapons being specific to each faction is SUPER ANNOYING. I understand you eventually get a "license" to use a weapon for either faction, but saving cash to buy something and then not be able to use it 50% of the games is ridic! I also REALLY miss vehicular combat and engagements. Battlefield 4 mixed it up so well that you could be a fighter pilot, a tank driver, a sniper, a medic, a transport helicopter pilot, etc... Hardline, is well, it has an attack helicopter. Everything else is just a truck with a mounted gun. Overall, I think it will grow on me. It is a drastic change from warfare to cops and robbers, but it keeps enough of classic BF to receive 4 stars from me.

I like first person shooter games. Too slow, too many cut scenes. The box cover needs to tell that the story is about drug cops.

I enjoyed this game. The big battles in cities and fields got very intense and kept me coming back for more. The campaign was also pretty solid (for a Battlefield game). I would recommend this game to any shooter fan.

Excellent graphics, fun story mode and everything that Battlefield 4 should have been online. I haven't seen any online multi-player issues the game plays smooth and at a faster pace with the new game modes.

Battlefield is by far one of the greatest first person shooter titles ever to hit the shelves. 3 and 4 were excellent games that brought exciting multiplayer but subpar campaign plots. Hardline attempts to revolutionize the franchise with a more engaging story, but tries too hard to keep the player entertained. Over the top sequences followed by lifeless characters make for a very boring and forgettable campaign. The multiplayer on the other hand is easily the best part. Interesting maps make for some fun hours with your friends. While the game is interesting, don't feel the need to rush out and pay full price. Wait like I did for a decent discount.

    Hybrid COD/BF4

Graphics are not at bf level, i hoped they did it for a split screen possibility, sadly, no. Gameplay is faster than BF4, kinda like Battlefront, but not like cod, it has good game modes, medium large maps, could have been better if they didn't make ir feel like the content was split in premium, i haven't seen dlc worth it, but thats because i only saw the first. Upgrades unlocked are cool. What makes this game better is that they added night operations mode like in bf4, in this mode you have a night vision upgrade that can use, but is frustrating if you dont have a night vision scope.

For the record there is another beta coming out on Feb. 3rd 2015 until Feb 8th on PS4 and all platforms. The alpha was really nice. The guns and graphics were really nice. The objectives were great and fun to play moreover with co-ops. this is a must have game for March on all platforms.

This game was not something that I eagerly looked forward to, but it is fun none the less. Basically, it is Battlefield 4 with new guns and game modes and without the military vehicles. Some of it is very entertaining (riding around with four guys hanging out your car shooting at the cops while "woop woop, thats the sound of the beast" is playing is exciting. Id say buy it discounted~!

Different Battlefield, but worth the try

This is nothing like the old battlefield games, but it's not a bad move on the part of Dice to try something new, for them at least. Lot's of fun online when you get on a full player server. Good story line when playing solo, that's new for this franchise. Overall a good game, nothing ground breaking, and nothing close to Call of Duty, but really fun overall.

    Fun, not like BF 4

If you're used to BF 4 then stick to that, but if you want something new then try it. I enjoy it, but it needs some work. I like that they made it easier to get weaponry and upgrades, but at the same time, it's sort of repetitious with certain game play modes. All in all, a fun, enjoyable game with friends. I do enjoy it. Has potential.

Great game. Sick of playing the annoyingly futuristic Call of Duty Advanced Warfare? Then this game is for you. Realistic. Great graphics. Great controls. Basically like your old school COD days on PC. Clean, clear, cool maps, cool concept (cops vs bad guys). They clearly went to work and fixed the previous issues they had with Battlefield 4. Done playing COD AW after picking up this game.

Battlefield Hardline is a cool game overall there are just some bugs that need to worked out before the game is really good! Hold tight for patches and fixes that will make the game worth keeping.

    Really Fun Singleplayer

My review is focused more on the single player aspect of the game. While Battlefield is known for typically taking place in a war setting, this installment focuses on the police. It is a really fun campaign that is split into episodes and has a lot of twists and turns. It is certainly more of a popcorn action flick ala "Bad Boys" over a high-drama crime film like "The Departed", but it's definitely worth checking out.
