I have bought 2 of these in last couple years. Put protective loom over fuse. Use electrical tape. Still corroded. Replace fuse and will not work. Don't understand

Sorry about your experience. The fuse holder located near the transmitter and the connector between the camera and transmitter are not waterproof. if either of these are in a location that is exposed to the elements, you must make sure they are waterproofed. Garmin

I would never buy this again and probably nothing from Garmin again. This was sold to me with the compatible gps and when it was installed the piicture was so blurry and small that it was nearly useless. It was installed on a 20' motor home which is only about the length of a pick-up. Bad Buy!

Yes, the BC40 is our completely wireless backup camera that runs off of AA batteries. Any other backup camera we offer is wireless from cam to GPS but does require power be wired. Garmin

This wireless camera send video to select Garmin GPS. Best buy GEEK squad installed it for me. But anybody comfortable enough to install is ok too. Very easy to install , No set up needed. after install need to adjust parking guide in GPS for better measurement. Thanks GEEK Squad for installing . Working fine. More easy and very helpful for back up and parking.

I bought the new big screen garmin and the back up camera and paid for the best buy installation. Pros: install was perfect, screen is big and clear and the camera image is sharp and clear and the field of view is very good. cons: only one major one but a few littles. If you've used other back up cameras, you might be used to the lines turning as you turn your wheels, to show where you're going, this one does not. This does not beep or make a noise if you get close to something. The biggest complaint for me through is the fish eye camera lens and the depth perception. When I first used it, it was hard to gage the distance using the lines vs the view. The lines are a very small distance, maybe 12 inches but the view looks like you have much more room, as in my garage door looked like I could still fit a big garbage can behind my car but my bumper was only about 10 inches away from the garage door. Things behind you are Much closer than they appear. In fact, the red line for me is already impact, because my bumper sticks out a bit further than the red line. You need to look backwards when backing up while learning to use this camera. I promise you'll thank me for this tip. Mine is installed onto my liscense plate. That may make a difference. I also recommend taking it to a parking lot with very straight lines and fine tuning your back up lines. For me it is great to see what is behind me, love the display, but the distance from objects on the display is so far off that I would not rely on this for precision parking. Do not expect the same system you get built into vehicles. It does a great job showing what's behind you and it's a crisp clear picture, but please still use your eyes.
