An Unfortunate Necessity

Nobody was complaining to Apple that the 3.5 mm earbud port was a design defect that had to be removed. But then Apple designs product for them, not their customers. Thankfully Belkin stepped in and corrected the iPhone with this Lighting Port to 3.5 mm Adapter. Now we can once again use the Aux port on our car's dash to listen to Podcasts or music stored on our phone without wasting battery power via Bluetooth. This is not a cheap cable, but it's not a simple soldered together adapter either. Belkin had to install circuits into the Lighting Port end to convert the digital information coming out of the iPhone's Lighting Port into an analog signal that the Aux port in our car's dash or our home receiver can use. Pros: - The electronics in this cable are MFi-certified to guarantee compatibility with the inevitable future iPhone updates. - Compared to other Lighting Port adapters, for the specific task of outputting music to an 3.5 mm Aux Port, it's a single cable. No other adapters need to be Daisy Chained to it. - It's available in 3-foot/0.9m or 6-foot/1.8m lengths. Cons: - Somewhat pricy.
