To isolate the weak signal you're receiving from the router, make sure that the router is place on a higher location or in a less interference area. The salesman suggested I get a newer router instead of the wireless extender because it should cover a larger area in my home. It did not improve the coverage area so I am returning.. This time I will purchase an extender and see if that helps. It might also help if I were more computer literate but I do the best I can. Technology has moved so fast I can hardly keep up with all the new stuff....especially Windows 8.
