    easy setup, lousy range

Had a Belkin router previously, but had to upgrade when it started showing its age and decided to get another Belkin. Setup was easy and it works with all my devices, but the range is terrible. Old Belkin router was strong throughout the house, this one loses signal strength 10 feet away (sometimes my neighbor's router has a stronger signal). I'm disappointed with the range, which affects the reliability, so I may be looking elsewhere.

having strange problems getting to this work.

Purchase about a week ago. Easy set up initially. Then strange things started with my husband's iPad. Mine worked relatively okay, just some website didn't come in correctly. His location services (for maps, weather, etc.) can't find him. Of course any help I called, including Geek Squad, said it was an apple problem. We took both iPads to a different network and no problems so it is not an Apple problem. Today after trying to find help through their website, I called Belkin support. The gentlemen I spoke with was extremely difficult to understand and was telling me the problem might be my microwave or my cordless phone causing interference. Then he told me not to use my iPad any further from the router that 15 feet. Disgusted and annoyed. Will be returning unit and ry the free one that comes with a modem from my cable company next.

      Hi!

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. If your wireless devices are having challenges to get a stable connection with the router, one probable cause is due to wireless interference. Speed and physical obstructions can also affect the connectivity of the devices to the wireless network. If you still have the device, you may try adjusting the wireless channel on the router settings to 1, 6 or 11.

Feel free to update us back by sending an email to [email protected] with your contact details, location and the link to this post so we can provide other steps that you may try.Belkin

    very easy setup

I got this router because my older existing router seemed to be causing problems. Even our phones seemed to be losing battery life for instance. This router does not have all the bells a whistles but was the latest network technology (AC). Setup was extremely easy and I simply entered my older SSID on 2.4 and key. It worked immediately. and the phone batteries now last much longer and video on demand runs faster with little to no buffereing delays. my nas worked immediately and as before. An the down side it is not the fastest (400 400) but then my internet is only 25 also. the 5.0 ssid is the 2.4 with the .media extension. You can't setup vpn and whole bunches of stuff. But to this user all the stuff can be confusing. To the average user or beginner not having to make all those decisions just makes it easier to setup. So for 1/3 the price you get all the performance you need or could use. Without being confused with a lot of decisions.

Has disconnected several times since purchase. Rating "average" because when it works, it works well giving a strong signal to several devices. But it constantly disconnects from the Internet when there is nothing wrong on the Internet Service Provider's end and Belkin support is rarely of help.

      Hi Karen,

Your intermittent connection could be caused by the kind of setup you have in your home. Tweaking its wireless channel is a good move to avoid possible interference on your network. Also, make sure that the router’s firmware is up to date. We would love to walk you through with the process. Email us your contact details and the link to this post at [email protected].

This router worked fine until I updated to Mac El Capitan OS. It still works but there's no way to change the network since Belkin doesn't have a download available to make it compatible. I'm having issues with the wi-fi and will be getting a new router but not a Belkin.

      Hi, MMATT,

The time you've spent in writing this review is greatly appreciated. However, we feel sad to hear about your experience the Belkin AC 750 DB Wi-Fi Dual-Band AC+ Router. The setup software is not yet tested to work with OS X El Capitan. However, you can reinstall the router manually instead. Cheap Router

You get what you pay for. I have had two Belkin routers and both started to degrade after about a year. The Belkin warranty for any kind of support is 90 days. After that they want you to pay $30 to extend it for whatever current problem you have. They work great to start but need replacing annually.

    Barely Functional. Needs daily babysitting.

Purchase to replace an N Router. The Blue Shirt recommended that I get a 5G router. He handed me the Belkin version. The AC750. The wired switch is not Gigabit (my fault, should have read the fine print on the box), the 5G signal, according to Belkin tech support, is 20-30 feet. The 2.4G frequently disappears from the list of available Wifi. I found that even with the 5G connection showing 4 bars on my tablet, the Wifi will not give any data, even though the wired desktop still receives data. When I try to access the router through the wired connection to adjust the settings the tech guy told me to change, it crashes the router. A reboot is required. The router actually wants to reboot once a week to fix itself, dropping all my network connections in the middle of the night. It isn't guaranteed that they will be back up in the morning when I need them. Belkin rep had the audacity to say, only use the 2.4G. So according to him, save 50% and get an N router unless your device will stay within 20-30 feet of the router.

    Routers are Boring

I wanted to keep my old SSID and Password. Bad idea. The script which was faultless up to that point became shaky. When registering my wireless device I was never prompted for my password and of course could not get on. I decided to start over by purging all settings. I then followed their script with their SSID and their Password. That worked perfectly.

    Fine for common wireless uses

I bought this router for my small apartment, so that I could have wireless capability for my phone and laptop (where strong connection is not necessary) as well as LAN capability for my desktop and PS4 that require stronger connections for better gaming. I have had horrendous connection issues on the ethernet devices for nearly 10 months since I bought this router - which I chalked up to ISP issues since I live in an older building. I finally got time to experiment with my connection setup, and immediately realized (via plugging my desktop directly into my modem and bypassing the router), that this router has been the source of my issues. This is a great basic router if you just want wireless connectivity for some common devices where a strong LAN connection isn't necessary, but I would advise another product if you intend to use the ethernet ports.

I bought this router in the hopes to get a better connection than the cox router I was using. It works great in my room with solid connection but about 30 feet away in the living room I keep an absolutely HORRIBLE connection. Thats if I even get a connection at all. It is RIDICULOUS that this router does not reach 30 ft away

      Hi, Baron,

Thank you for sharing this feedback and for providing us with a detailed product review. We're sorry to hear that the device did not meet your expectations. There are several things that we have to consider on why the range of the router cannot reach more than 30 ft.: physical obstruction and wireless interference could be the possible cause. To help improve this, it is recommended that you adjust the wireless channel of the router (preferably 1, 6, or 11). You may refer to this link as your guide: http://www.belkin.com/us/support-article?articleNum=8340. We also recommend that you relocate your router somewhere high or in an elevated area to get around physical obstructions. Should you need further assistance, feel free to email us at [email protected] anytime. We'd be more than willing to provide advanced troubleshooting steps to help you make the device work to its full potential.

We hope to hear from you soon.

    disappointed......

I was skeptical about purchasing this since I was never a fan of Belkin products and their routers usually have the worse reviews compared to other companies. Like the other reviewer I been wanting to get the Asus 750 but was waiting for it to go on sale and using a Linksys E2500 in the meantime which was an upgrade from my NETGEAR RangeMax Dual-Band Wireless-N Router since my 2 year Best Buy warranty was about to expire on it. Well after reading the other review (it also being the only review I could find on this product) I figured I would just try it despite my initial hesitation with Belkin, which in the end was a bad move. The installation was quite easy and the signal was giving me 2 and 3 bars on my Samsung Galaxy Media Player when the other routers gave me 2 and most of the time 1 bar in my apartment but then the signal started to continuously drop and the same was happening with my PS3 though worse with my Galaxy. I tried changing multiple setting but still had no luck and even the intellistream wouldnt work properly, every time I did a speed test it would just stay in "running" mode for a minute or 2 than go back to the speed test page without displaying anything. Ive been messing with this router for 3 hours now I cant get any of the issues corrected, It is completely frustrating and I have never had issues with any of my other routers until this one. Im not completely tech savy but know enough and networking has never been an issue for me, needless to say I will be returning this to Best Buy tomorrow and either getting the Asus 750 or just going back to the Netgear since that has been my best router.

I live in a decenlty large house, and the router has never dropped out, despite using multiple devices. The only drawback is that I tried to set a personal password, and it dropped then. It let me customize the network name, but when I attempted to vary the preset password, it would not work. I had to do a factory reset, and use the preset login information again.

Hardware issue straight from the box

I got this router one week ago. And now, I have to return it because of a hardware malfunction. I noticed that the speeds were a little slower than my previous router, which I thought was strange because my previous router was almost 7 years old. I monitored the speeds and after the 6th day of 2mpbs speeds on a 20 mbps network, I'd had it. I called Belkin and after an hour of doing all but replacing the actual hardware of the device, I was told I'd have to replace it. I consulted a technician on the Best Buy page and he suggested a Netgear device, only 20$ more. Its not AC band, but unless you've got a network that can handle 450 mbps, you won't need a router that can do that.
