Strong signals to both laptops. Netflix is constantly "retrieving" and the PS3 online game play only gets 3 bars.

    Cheap router/Short life

Bought this router in store for a fair price. I live in a small apartment, but router's signal was not strong enough to reach every area of the apartment. Also this router only lasted about 6 months before it stopped working and could only receive a signal in the Kb/s. I would not recommend this product to anyone, NETGEAR is by far better.

      Hi, TechnologyJunkie,

We appreciate your taking the time to review this router. May we know the hardware version of the router? This model comes with a hardware warranty for two years and we can have it replaced if proven defective.

When you say it stopped working, does it mean that the lights won't turn on once it is plugged into the outlet? As for its signal, it could have been affected by wireless interference. If you can still turn on the router and access its setup page, adjust the wireless channel of the router.

Let us know the results via email at [email protected] so we can assist you further and indicate your full name, phone number, location, and the link to this post.

    HATED IT!

I bought this router wanting it for basic usage and had nothing but problems. I ended up returning it after 5 days of owning it and got a Netgear which the customer service rep said he highly recommended over the Belkin. I live in a very small house (mobile home) and I couldn't get any signal in the back of my house. It would also drop my signal and took forever to connect back to it. I would be sitting right in front of it and it would still do nothing. It slowed my things up big time! I had called tech support 4 times in a 5 day time frame, which all tech support is in India and so I couldn't understand a word they were saying and they couldn't understand me so it took even longer to get anywhere, which is very frustrating when you are already mad that it your product isn't working correctly. Plus each time they had me do the same steps even when I would tell them that I have already done it and it didn't help. So I wouldn't suggest this to anyone. I would recommend a Netgear. It was really fast to set up, no problems and is VERY fast!

Did not live up to my expectations

Two main issues with the product: (1) Trying to network a HP printer via its USB connection has been extremely difficult. It will work one time then the printer always shows as "offline". Still unable to resolve (2) The second band 500mhz has an extremely short distance use in that I really cannot use the second band. Therefore, spent more money on a router than I needed.

    missing the power cord

I ordered online and came to pick up this router. Later night, I opened it and realized missing power cord. Next day I came back Bestbuy and explained but had hard time make them believe what it is. Eventually, I was able to exchange another one but next day again I had to return because setting up the router didn't went well. I have HP desktop PC running window 8.1. I've been using a couple products from belkins and it had been all good until this time. My question is how the power cord was missing from unopened box. Wonder if it happens sometimes like this when people order thru online.

    Didn't work for me

If the router would've been compatible with any of my devices, it would've been incredibly easy to install and get running. Unfortunately, I wasn't so lucky and the router didn't work with either my pc, or two laptops (one of which is less than a year old). I called the customer service number, boy was that frustrating. After two hours on the line, asking the tech to repeat himself after every other sentence we got one of my laptops hooked up to the internet wirelessly at a lowered security level. By that point I didn't want to deal with hours more working on the other devices so I returned it and bought the Netgear WNDR3400 and had that one up and running within minutes of returning home. I'm not saying this router is garbage but just that it didn't work for me and doesn't seem to be nearly as compatible as the Netgear.

    Terrible router

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The router is great at first, it's like there's a 1 year honeymoon phase. The N works particularly well, my macbook can connect to it at 450Mbps. However, then weird things start happening. Like, it randomly disconnects from the internet. It doesn't matter if you restart it- you have to manually plug it out and plug it back in. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. If this thing decides to work, for a few more months it will work great. Then it will start disconnecting from the internet randomly, whenever it wants to! Stay away from Belkin products.

    Doesn't like to stay connected

I figured I'd give Belkin a chance since it seemed comparable to the Netgear N600, but $10 cheaper. Big mistake. The thing never installed properly from the start. Despite numerous attempts at all the standard trouble shooting protocol, it would either lose connection with the computer or the internet regularly. It also seemed rather slow in processing and not as powerful as my older Netgear which died due to planned obsolescence. I dumped the Belkin for the latest Netgear N600 which installed without a hitch and is performing beautifully.

I had to return this product by mail and I had to pay alittle less than $8.00 to return the non working router. I believe if the product breaks with in a month of usage the customer should be able to send the product back free of charge.

Cannot Connect to NAS from Wireless Laptop

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

There is much to like about this product, but it does not work for me. I have a QNAP TS-219PII NAS file and application server. With this Belkin router, I can rarely connect to my NAS from a notebook computer over WiFi. Interestingly, my hardwired Ethernet desktop computer is able to connect to the NAS perfectly. There seems to be a glitch in the router that prevents WiFi clients from accessing certain devices such as NAS on the hardwired router ports (but my hardwired ethernet printer works fine). I spent over 2 hours with customer service 2nd level support and they were unable to solve the problem. They were very courteous, but there seems to be a fundamental problem with the router. BTW I have firmware version 4.03.08 (Feb 25, 2014) on the Belkin router. Sadly, I have to return it.

I was excited to bring home a nice priced Belkin dual band n600 router. Unfortunately after attempting to install 6 times, then talking to a Belkin rep, turns out the unit needed returned. Enough for me I will buy another brand.

two units, one DOA, other worked for 1 day

I purchased a Belkin N600DB on Sunday Jan 29. took it home, followed the instructions, no result. called the support number, spoke with Kumar. After following his instructions, he said it was apparently faulty (no lights, no LAN connection) so I returned it to Best Buy for a replacement. Hooked up the second one. it worked for 1 day then nothing. I am very disappointed. Now I have to return another one to Best Buy. I hooked my DLink router back up and it works fine so I know all my connections including the modem and the LAN are good. I wanted to upgrade to a newer router with WPA but I guess this one was the wrong choice.

I bought this router to replace a an old SMC wired router and Cisco wireless router I was using to for all my household devices. I hooked it up per the instructions and it did not work at all. The router displayed a purple light. After several calls to Belkin tech support in which I was told I needed a "level 3" tech, I received a call from a "level 3" tech who told me the router needed to be replaced and they would send me a new one. Five days later, I called Belkin back since I have not received the replacement router yet and they said the request had not been processed yet. Good thing I still have my old router to rely on or I would have been SOL. I am on my way back to Best Buy to try a different company's router.

I've just purchased a Belkin wireless router in my last trip to the US last week. I asked about worldwide warranty since I was going to use this product in Brazil and the sales person confirmed that Belking had it...I got home and tried to install this router without success. I then called Belkin's call center in Brazil and followed the procedures. The conclusion is that I purchased a defective unit and for my surprise I was told that Belkin will not support me in Brazil. I need to bring this unit to the store I purchased for replacement...I guess I just lost my money on this!!! I do appreciate any help from Best Buy on solving my problem since I have no plans to travel to the US in the near future.

this modem was recommended to me by a friend that said they had a great results. First thing this modem doesn't have that great of a range thru walls and floors. Second thing is it has to be reset often so I connected a wall timer to it so it will reset every morning without me having to unplug it all the time. Third the bandwidth is not great, lagging game experience, or trying to watch a movie thru wifi using the usb was horribly slow. fourth it didn't last nearly as long as my 5 year old lynksis did. waste of time and money, now it have to go buy another one. save yourself some time, spend the money on a Nice router and not one to just get you by.

      Hi Derrick,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we'd like to offer our assistance with the challenges you’re facing with our router. If the dropping connection is only happening with the wireless devices, it can be due to wireless interference. But if all your device losses internet access at the same time, we will have to isolate if it's due to the router or if the dropping starts with the modem.
Here are the possible solutions that you may do:

      * Place the router in the central part of your house to avoid interference.
      * Set your router to use a permanent "Wireless Channel" such as 1, 6, 9, or 11.
      * Update or re-flash the firmware.

If the connection will not improve, we'd appreciate if you send us an email at [email protected] including your contact details, location, and the link to this review so we may provide more possible solutions.

I bought this to replace an old Apple Time Capsule that recently failed. This router gave me nothing but problems. Devices on my network kept losing their connection and the router itself would require constant reboots to keep it connected to the Internet. The 'self healing' feature of the router is misleading. All it does is allow you to schedule the router to reboot on a pre-determined schedule. This causes all my devices which are connected to my file server to become disconnected from the share. I would not recommend this router.

Since it failed before BB could send me an email about their product this review is easy. When I returned it the BB rep told me Belkin was like the Russian space program. Its a matter of luck. I wish the first rep would have told me that. When I returned it BB insisted on keeping the cable from the new Cisco router since I forgot the one with the Belkin router. The fact that I missed two hours of work and spent another two hours trying to figure what went wrong the Belkin router wasnt important.
