It worked good for a while, but began dropping signal and log-on capability after a few days. The fix was that the networked laptop had to be on in order to use the wifi?!?!

Your networked laptop should not be causing any interference to your wireless network. Have you tried updating the firmware of your router? What about resetting it changing the wireless channel? The range for the regular band is good. A bit slow on the download and upload speeds. It's too slow when there are multiple devices connected. But the slow speeds are probably a Comcast problem.

Thank you for reviewing and rating the Belkin N600 router. To know the real cause, we need to further isolate the case. You may connect the computer directly to the modem and check your speed. After that, connect the PC directly to the router do the same thing. Then, compare the speed.

After setup headache works great!

We used the USB hub for a printer, but you do have to install a driver to your computer in order to actually use the printer. Besides that we are happy with our new router.

If you need a router for 1-2 rooms, this would do great. I needed more whole house coverage and this on struggled in that area.
