This was part of a reason why I chose this router. The router works as listed. Belkin support is inadequate to resolve my issue thus far.

This unit tries to setup with Internet access. I guess this is good for most installations. Anyway, I did discover how to set my IP manually. Unit works well once setup

We thank you for sharing your experience with the Belkin N600 router. It is possible that signal drop is due to some physical obstruction and wireless interference. With the right wireless settings and location, we could improve the wireless connection of your network.
Try to adjust the wireless channel. For the 2.4 GHz, use 6, 9, 11, or 1. With the 5GHz band, 161 or 157. You may actually try all the channels and choose the ones with the best result. Relocating the router can be a good move too. Place the router within line of sight of the client devices and away from interfering wireless devices.
