    Mixed Feelings, Generally Good

Sleek design and ease of use is great. However, I am not entirely happy with the fact that it sometimes decides to reboot itself when IT decides leaving me with no Internet connection for about 5-10 seconds. At these times, I could be sitting right in front of it and it doesn't recognize any my devices. On the other hand, when it is working, which is most of the time, everything is fine.

What works works, what doesn't doesn't

Trying to find a dual band router without a bad review is impossible so I went with the Belkin because I bought their dual band bridge (only because it seemed to have fewer bad reviews than the others). The N600 installed easily (I just used the web interface since I have configured about 1/2 dozen routers over the years). After a few days of use it appears to be reliable and it streamed video very nicely to the bridge. I did not get around to actually measuring the throughput I was getting. Now for the bad news. First it has no client ip address reservations. This is a pretty standard feature on most routers. I could live with that. The reason I am returning this router is the port forwarding just flat out does not work for me. I talked to support, the first level person really had no clue after I said that I did not have a game console. She had me put my computer in the DMZ, which did not work either. She said a second level support person would call in 2-3 hours. About 20 hours later (7:45 AM!) I got the call. The second level person asked what sort of port I was forwarding (he did not seem to know what httpd was, but web server made some sense to him), told me to down load a newer firmware (even though the router reported that it was up to date). When that did not fix the problem he said that the expert would have to call me. So they had someone call me who was not prepared to diagnose the problem. The remote management port does not work either. Another problem is that the ddns service seems flakey. About 1/2 the time I reboot the router (which you need to do every time you change anything) it fails to connect to dyndns and according to the second level support guy, it does not retry. There is a log page in the router which shows what is happening. The log page seems to have some problems because after some reboots there are no messages at all. One more thing people should be aware of, if you back up your settings it dumps all the passwords you have used in clear text. This includes your ISP password if you have one.

Works great. Tip: Use the Belkin software on all your wireless computers. It will resolve any speed and connectivity issues. Strong signal in our large home. The speed is great.

Went from a Netgear to a Belkin. Went from Verizon DSL (7 megs) to Charter Cable (30 megs). Belkin N600 works flawlessly. Never needs any attention. Has been connected now for one year this week. I just leave it on and it has never failed. Quick recovery if a power failures happens which has only been once. This one meets all my needs. Connect laptop and desktops on the main end and on the second band I connect my TV and any friends that want to log on as a guest.

Was purchased to replace a malfunctioning wireless router (fried by lightning strike outside house). Was definitely a "panic" purchase, but worked out really well. N600 worked very nicely right out of the box - little configuring was required. However, once I logged into the router to try tweaking options, I was really impressed at the router's set of features. Very happy with purchase.

Using it primarily to connect my PS3 and XBOX One to the internet. The wireless range could be better.

Bought this to extend my network range. Have a Motorola surfboard with horrible coverage, but the speed from it was great. So I had to finagle it a bit, but I turned off the wireless on the Motorola and hardwired this Belkin directly to it as a pass through router. The Motorola handles all DHCP requests. Now I get full signal everywhere in my house and the speed doesn't drop off! Definitely recommend (even though I was a Linksys die-hard!)

I was excited to find dual band with great range and usb at half the cost of the competition. Setup wasn't quite as simple as it was described on the box so have someone on hand that knows a little bit about wireless routers. Security seems robust, range is solid and still have yet to try the hard drive and wireless printing. All mobile devices and computers got connected.

I love the flexibility that going wireless at home has permitted me to work anywhere without limitations. Easy to set up, recognizes all my devices and the kids love it when they come home to visit with all their technical equipment. Wonder why I hadn't gone wireless long before this.

Great price, get good range but not as good as I would like. Only get one to two bars while outside on my deck. Booted my computer that is wired to the router takes couple of minutes to recognize the conection because it looks for wireless first then wired.

I had a slight issue with the device conflicting with my other devices somehow (they were sharing the same IP address) so I had to call Belkin for help, which I reluctantly did because I like to figure things out on my own. But, he assisted, had me change some settings and I was on my way. I've been using it for around a month now and have had no problems, it works like a champ!

I don't know what a bad router is like except when the Cisco router that I had for 5 years went down. This was easy to install and the customer service line gives you real people to speak with.

    Good Router for Home Use

I purchased this for home use. I use it with one desktop computer, 1 laptop, PS3, Nintendo Wii, and smartphones. I also have it set up to print from my laptop wirelessly. It works great. My Wii downstairs (about 75 feet away) gets great signal and I can use the laptop throughout the house.
