unpackaging and setting up the speaker was a no Brainerd as all that's needed is to plug the supplied power supply into the socket under the speaker and the other end to the wall. I immediately got the 4 blinking lights on the front that go from blue, red and amber. So going by the flashing lights, this is when I am supposed to connect to my wi-fi using the Belkin Soundform app, it didn't connect, and I tried several times. I then tried connecting through the Google home app...that didn't work either. So is it me (I consider myself pretty tech savvy) or is it the speaker, I will be contacting Belkin either way. So my other option is Bluetooth which thankfully worked like a charm. Once I was connected, the sound was beautiful. The bass was thumping, and my jazz 'Pieces of a Dream was smooth and crisp sounding. The fact that this behemoth sounding speaker also charges my cell and has a speaker phone are just extra bonuses that puts it in a class above the rest. But of course because it's bluetooth I don't have to have it on the charging pad. Overall I would have rated it 5 stars, had it not been for wi-fi connectivity.

I got this speaker on sale for $99, but I didn’t even keep it after trying it out. The connectivity with Bluetooth and airplay was quite wonky, and the sound quality just wasn’t crisp enough for me to keep it. Very mediocre speaker.

I was looking for something that offered a high volume with high quality sound. This has high quality sound but at a very low max volume output. So, if you do not care about volume but do care about low volume quality, then this is s decent sounding unit.

I have this Belkin Soundform Elite speaker at my work desk at home. Let's start with the sound quality. Great bass. Period. I saw a review say it's only good close up, but even at the lowest sound volume, I walked 10-15 ft away and it still sounded great! Mid range is decent. Treble is crisp and clear even with the strong bass. Any bass, treble, mid range adjustments can be made in the alexa app. Overall I'm happy with the sound quality. it's almost too loud in it's lowest setting, if I'm in a call, but buttons are easy enough to get to and touch sensitivity works well. I actually have to pause the music because it can distract me from my call. This is not a bad thing for most people, but since I work from home for now, I can't have music playing across my calls. The speaker allows you to stream from alexa as well as spotify access, the belkin app will show you which you're streaming music from which is nice as I use both alexa and spotify. I love the charging cradle for fast charging my phone. I do have to take off my pop socket, but it will still charge through the case and pop socket base. My one complaint is that the power cord is too short and the brick at the plug can block other outlets. This is barely worth mentioning. Overall, extremely happy with my Belkin Soundform Elite speaker with Alexa. I would give more stars if I could.

Great Smart Speaker With Phone Charger

Received and set up the Belkin SoundForm Elite Smart Speaker to use on my nightstand, eliminating the small Amazon Echo Dot. I downloaded the Soundform app on my iPhone which gives you instructions on how to set up Alexa, wi-fi, bluetooth and Spotify Connect. I do not use Google Assistant so cannot remark on that. Everything connected seamlessly and was all ready to go within minutes. I feel the music sounds just great at all levels. I don't play it really loud but did volume up and I noticed no distortion - just nice clean sounds. The bass was perfect to my ears and I did try various forms of music from jazz to rock. At night I listen to an ocean waves program and one thing I did find is by using the marked areas for volume on the unit itself I couldn't get it to the proper level. It seemed to go from too loud to off. So now I simply say ALEXA VOLUME DOWN or ALEXA VOLUME UP and I no longer press anything for volume. Works perfectly with a greater range. I tried out the 10 watt wireless phone charger and it worked great with my iPhone SE (2020) which is a small phone. Charged fully and fast, even in its Otterbox Defender Pro case. However I also just purchased the iPhone 12 Pro Max and unfortunately with my wireless compatible case on, the charger was very very slow and it did not fully charge. Went from 64% to only 85% then stopped and it was on overnight. There is a little white light that glows to the right of your phone when it is charging properly and an amber one when it isn't charging. Well I am not sure what happened but the amber light was on. Now I do realize the iPhone 12 Max Pro is a big phone and I was using the provided cable with an Apple brick 20 watt charger which worked fine. I can only assume that 10 watts is simply not enough to fully charge this big phone OR it may have been struggling to charge it, overheated and shut off. In all fairness however to Belkin I did not remove my case and possibly if folks didn't use a case or removed it before trying the charger, it might be okay. I feel if Belkin would put a 15-20 watt charging pad in these units, especially for the $299 price tag, it would be very helpful for those of us with the newer, larger phones. Since it works perfect with my small SE that is the only thing I can imagine it might be. Since I use Alexa for most all my commands I really don't have to touch the labeled areas and I do find them rather hard to see as the writing is light. Overall I rated this 4 stars because of the charging pad issue otherwise definitely would be a 5. It is cute and looks very nice on my nightstand. A bit pricey for what you are getting however, but still a great item to own. I am really enjoying it.

I have owned multiple Bluetooth speakers in the past, but this one is pretty close to the top! The packaging was super protective! The box was actually pretty dented when I received the delivery (no fault of Belkin), however, when I opened it, it was very protected inside the box. The charging cord was secure and it’s own area and the actual speaker was fitted into heavy duty padding. It was extremely easy to set up to my Wi-Fi and Bluetooth! I am not very tech savvy so this was a huge bonus for me. I love this feature of charging my cell phone on it as well. I believe I am going to take this to my office and use it while I am at work. I usually bring my iPad and it drains my battery listening to my music all day, but with this speaker I’ll be able to keep my phone charged us by setting it on top of the speaker. Another bonus for charging my phone while it is still in its protective cover. The sound of the speaker is extremely clear! The volume goes very high (won’t be blasting it at work though!) The only downside i’ve noticed so far is that it does not run on battery or keep a charge so it needs to be plugged in during use. This is the reason for four, not five stars. If you have access to a nearby park where this is going to be used, I highly recommend this product!

First impression when unboxing the SoundForm Elite was that it had a substantial solid quality feel to it. The mesh fabric wrapped around the unit reminded me of high-end loudspeaker grills. It’s got a bit of weight to it coupled with the rubber skid feet on the bottom means it is unlikely to easily get bumped off your desk or table. Sound quality is very good for a relatively compact device with a good sound range including decent low-end bass. Volume can be controlled by a variety of methods such as touch controls on the unit, via Alexa, or volume controls via the connected app on a mobile device. The volume can be turned all the way down to 0 or off. I did feel as if there should have been another loudness level between off and the lowest volume setting though. I am not sure what the charging specs are but it does charge really quick and my iPhone was even a bit warm to the touch during the charge cycle. Since I only have one of these I did not experience the multi-room functionality, however, from what I can tell you would use the app to group playback amongst multiple SoundForm units. Speaking of the App, it is pretty basic and works well for connecting new devices but doesn’t really do much more than that. The Spotify and Alexa options direct you to open those respective apps for further setup and control. Spotify is the only Service listed under the “Add More Services” option. Maybe Belkin is planning on adding more in the future but that is it right now. I found the Alexa integration to work quite well to control devices and voice detection was quite good. You can also turn the mic off directly from the front control panel, which turns the LED lights on the front red, if at some point you want Alexa to stop listening. I was a bit disappointed in the Spotify control via Alexa as I could only ever seem to get it to play whatever song/band/album “radio” and no playlists or favorites. I suspect this to be a limitation of the Alexa skill integration, to benefit Amazon’s own music service, rather than that of the SoundForm though. Even though the Wifi playback connectivity is limited to the Spotify app it is still a capable great sounding wireless speaker that can be used as a Bluetooth speaker for most any device. Not sure if that is compelling enough to choose over other less expensive Bluetooth speakers though and the charging feature does add some extra value. Hopefully Belkin will continue to add more services to it in the future.

The Belkin Soundform Elite is really an amazing product that combines three relevant technologies into one. This makes it a fantastic value for anyone looking to fill their room with sound. The three main features which make this product unique is that it’s a high-end speaker, smart home Alexa, and a wireless charging pad. Let’s start with the sound. I have an older JBL Xtreme Bluetooth speaker in my house that I frequently use to listen to music. Mind you, while it sounds fantastic, it is not a smart speaker, nor does it have a wireless charging pad. However, the sound is very, very good. Still, it’s not as good as the Belkin Soundform Elite. That’s what really blew my mind as I always thought my JBL was about as good as it gets for sound quality at that price point, yet this Belkin sounds better and is loaded with even more features. It provides excellent bass, the mid’s are great, and the highs are clear. The reason why is because this speaker does not use Belkin sound technology. They actually partnered with Devialet, which makes very high-end acoustics. If great sound is what you’re looking for, this speaker won’t let you down. The wireless charging pad is very convenient. We seemingly always need to charge our phones, and this speaker makes that as easy as possible. I use it frequently while making dinner in the kitchen, listening to my music. The charging speed is technically “fast charging”. While it is pretty fast, it's not blazing fast. It’s a 10-watt charger, which is above average. Again, that’s not an issue at all, and it is awesome that the speaker even offers that. The smart functionality is as good as any of the best Alexa device. The mics pick you up very well, even from farther distances. One of the benefits of being a smart speaker is the over-air updates I would expect the device to receive throughout its life. This keeps it up to date and should extend its “future proofness”.

    Powerful Speaker with Amazon Alexa

The Belkin Soundform Elite has proven to be a powerful loud speaker. The highlights on this Alexa compatible device are the crisp acoustics. It took us all by surprise with its small cylinder table top design. It does not have a dedicated bass button on it, don’t need it. Additionally, the Sound Elite delivers well balanced and satisfying treble peaks. It comes with wireless charging for those who have newer phone models. Since I do not own one, I was not able to test the fast charge feature. But good to have for when I upgrade to one. To pair Alexa , you must download either the Belkin App or the Amazon Alexa App. I used the Belkin App. I was four feet away and it could hear my whispers. Strong mic and a plus that it has a mute button to ensure privacy. This gave me peace of mind knowing that I have that form of control. Overall the speaker is a success!

    HD just sound better

This speaker really sounds good. If you are buying this you should be getting an HD subscription as it’s just not the same without it. It has Spotify integration in the app but I really don’t understand why you’d use Spotify with it as they don’t offer HD to my knowledge. The Alexa part is good, but not great, I hope it gets better. It’s not a hardware issue at all, it picks up my voice great and all that; I asked it announce dinner was ready and it said it wasn’t capable of that yet. That was… annoying. However, when I first opened the box it couldn’t join groups, after an update it could. So here is to hoping it gets better, but if you are looking for announcement capabilities immediately out of the box you might need to look at a different device. I really like that I can connect to it via Bluetooth and it works with phone calls that way, we call into church right now and my nice speakers refuse to be recognized to pay to for the phone call and using Alexa to call in isn’t possible right now because of the type of number (Nothing to with this speaker). With this guy because it has a mic it is recognized as a usable Bluetooth device for calls and we can listen to church on decent speakers instead of individually on our headphones. This obviously works for music too, but just a heads up, unless both your devices use Bluetooth 5.0 you won’t be listening to HD music, even with 5.0 it isn’t quite as capable as a direct connection to your HD music service. The wireless charger is a really nice feature, it is perfect for the kitchen where you can throw your phone on it and listen to some tunes while you cook. At the end of the day this is an awesome product, but I just can’t recommend it as it is missing some Alexa features.

If you have ever owned any other smart speakers or hubs from either amazon or google this works very similar. Alexa is great as always, great addition to your amazon ecosystem. If this is your first smart speaker it also a great way to start and get used to Alexa. Once you connect this speaker to your WiFi you will be able to see it in the apps compatible with it such as Spotify, and YouTube. Sound is loud and good. The Sound from factory is pretty balanced and it fits almost any type of genre. There is not much bass, so if you are a bass head Im sorry but this probably won't have enough to satisfy your needs. If you want to somewhat change the EQ you will have to do it through your phone if its paired through Bluetooth. Airplay also works great as usual. The charging station charges your phone quite fast. It charged my phone from 10% to 100% in less than an hour, which is pretty impressive for a wireless charger. My only complain with this speaker is that sometimes the speaker gets disconnected from the WIFI and you have to restart the speaker. There is frequent firmware updates so I am sure Belkin will patch this issue soon. Overall this is a great speaker, that will assist you throughout your day, while providing a great charging station as well. I would recommend it, if it fits your needs Here is the shorter version with the pros and cons Pros: - Loud, and balanced sound out of the box. - Alexa built in - WiFi smartdrop with compatible apps and AirPlay for apple users - Fast wireless charger for your phone - Frequent firmware updates Cons - WiFi sometimes disconnect. Hopefully this will get fixed in one of the firmware updates.
