Great Product

I put a small strip of lights under my toilet. I have them come on every night. It does take some tinkering with the app to figure out how to change the brightness so that it stays the same for scheduled times.

Very pleased with kit!

I'm using under kitchen cabinets and getting the lights working is straightforward, the only hiccup I hit was that I had to reset the lights. This wasn't mentioned in the quick start guide, so had to go online. Instruction was to unplug for 1 sec, then plug in for 1 sec, and do that 4 times. The fourth plug in leave it, then go to the app and connect to the system. The other lesson is if you are going to put these into a case w/cover to diffuse the light, make sure you get a channel that is big enough for the strip. These Osram lights have a plastic covering that made them a bit too big for what I bought. I had to buy another set to get a power supply and controller for cabinets on other side of kitchen, so getting a bit expensive. Also, have to buy extension cables for things like when spanning microwave between cabinets. I'm very excited to finish the installation with our kitchen upgrades! I'd recommend to anyone interested in adding LED highlights to a room.

Pass on this one and get the Philips Hue strips.

The product does look great, and the expansion opportunity is great...but, that's where the positive ends. I got everything where I wanted it, plugged it in and it turned on. Great. Followed the instructions, then, to get it connected to my network and apps. Nothing. I've spent numerous hours trying to get these to connect, and still have come up nothing. Tried numerous devices. Different network configurations. Different locations. Nothing. It won't detect them anywhere, and it won't connect to the network. I returned it and tried the Philips Hue, which worked immediately. If you're looking at these, consider looking at the Hue strips, instead.

do NOT buy---please read

I wanted to set up some accent lighting in the kitchen and patio. It looks awesome, and the concept is great. Until you set it up. The newest version of the app, from September(version 1.13.2), does not work. It will not find your WEMO link device. I spent a great deal of time on the phone with tech support, only to finally have them conclude that my WEMO link must be defective, and to return to store. I did, and exchanged it. To their credit, tech support actually called me back later that night to see if new unit was working. It wasn't--same issue. Their app will NOT find the link. It will search for it forever. We did resets, unplugged, deleted app, reinstalled app, etc, etc..... If the app cant find your WEMO link device, you are dead in the water. At this point, they escalated me to a "senior, higher level group" that would contact me in the next two days. They actually called me the next day, to inform me that they(Belkin) now know the new version of the app is defective. They are rushing to fix it, but have no timetable. They flat out admitted that no WEMO device will work with their own app, until they fix their app. FYI, I'm using an iphone 6, running the latest iOS 9. They asked me to hang in their a few more days, and would email when a fix was available. It's shocking that the quality conrtol at Belkin can release an app that flat out doesn't work. Makes me wonder about the whole company. Their tech support is actually good and responsive. Too bad the software engineers aren't up to par.

Horrible Link Device - DO NOT BUY!!!

IT DOESNT.... after 7 hours of Wifi connection attempts working within the WeMo communities, belkin sites, and Best Buy. the Wemo link never connected to the Wifi. I was able to connect it to the light strip but without the wifi connection, the schedules don't work and the only way to turn on/off the lights is by selecting the WeMo network, opening the app, and clicking the "on" button. easier to turn on a light switch. I even attempted the link with 3 different routers, 3 different phones (2 iPhones and 1 android), removed and re-downloaded the app multiple times, reset/restored the WeMo link, the routers and the phones with absolutely NO LUCK. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! It is my fault that I purchased this. I did not read the reviews on here or elsewhere prior to purchasing.. There are literally dozens of reviews stating the same issues and those authors gave up as am I.

Set up was a nightmare
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We spent over 2 hours trying to get the WeMo system to link with the app on our son's ipod and have the lights controlled by the app. We called customer service only to discover that the product we purchased "must be defective" and we were told to return them for a new set. We purchased the new set and they turned on, but then quickly shut off once we starting the launch process for the app. I called customer service and they explained that if the lights weren't turning on that they could not help us and maybe we should return this set as well. I asked for a supervisor and the supervisor stated that the CSR we spoke with was one of the best and therefore, we should follow her recommendation to return the lights. Half an hour later my husband was able to get the lights to turn on but still couldn't control them with the ipod. 3 hours later, lights work and are controlled with the ipod. This product is not worth the effort or the aggravation. If you have a problem that customer service cannot answer by following the pre-printed script in front of them, you are in trouble, Do not waste your time or money on this product. I wish we would have read the other reviews before purchasing this product.

Connectivity downfall

So I set up the webo link, get it to connect to my phone, then it won't make a remote access. Then I lose connection and when I go to wifi (iOS) it's not there. Reset link countless times and can't get a connection. I'm returning while can, wasted 2 hours and stressed me out. I'm sure the product is great, if you can get it to work.

Works great easy to install!

I think the issue that people have is they have a bad router or wifi network which is not the fault of this product if you have issues. As with any wifi product if you have a bad setup you will have issues. With that said these lights are great and a lot cheaper than the Philips hues which require you to buy the home kit. The great part about these lights is you can dim to your liking right from your phone and set the temperature of the lighting to set the mood. I'm using IOS so I can't speak for droid users. I recommended because they are super easy to install, good price and work great! Just remember to actually read the instructions and follow exactly. Also it is very important to upgrade the firmware to avoid any issues!

Expensive...faulty product...don't buy

It's a Belkin product so along with a Best Buy employee recommendation I trusted product would be good. Nope...the bad reviews you'll read here are totally justified. Could never get this product to even turn on after hours of wasted time. Software that operates it is apparently faulty. Read the other bad reviews....trust the bad reviews....don't waste your time on this product. Can't believe Belkin hasn't fixed this products failings....especially at this price point! I'm taking it back to the store for a refund. grrrrr!

Does Not Work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not sure why Best Buy doesn't put a sign next to this product telling it's customers this product does not really work. It's no secret the Wemo app is very poor, but the wemo link device is a major headache. Other customers have reported the same exact problems, but Best Buy continues to sell these things to it's customers. I bought this starter kit because I already have 2 Wemo switches that work fine, which is also the reason I didn't read up on this product before purchasing. Now I've wasted a day and a half of my life trying to get the Wemo link to connect to the "Osram Lightify", as well as three different Wemo bulbs I purchased. There is no "user error" here. All of my wemo devices are within 10 feet of my internet modem. This stuff is basically expensive junk that you want to return after you've pulled out all of your hair trying to set it up.

Amazing Smart Lights

The only reason I even took a star away was because it doesn't work with HomeKit yet. Otherwise, this is a great product to get introduced to smart lights. I would recommend everyone who's interested in lowering their light bill purchase these lights.

Failed and money lost

From the word start I had to call Belkin tech support. Once we got the device paired with the Link, it never stayed paired. I always had to fight with it to manage it from my phone. And now with out any real explanation, Belkin has discontinued this item but because I was beyond 90 days they won't give me my money back. I wish Best Buy would do something for me.
