So easy and convenient!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gone are the days of coming home to a dark house! I love how easy it was to set-up and use this product. A tech savvy co-worker introduced me to WeMo and I have absolutely no complaints. The app works well and makes it so easy to control the device. It's pretty cool for a non-tech savvy girl like myself. I'm looking for more products to purchase to further "lighten" my home.

Handy and easy to install
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The latest app update sometimes takes longer to find devices than previously but the flexibility in the scheduling is much improved, now allowing you to set weekdays, weekends, individual days, or daily. These items are a bit pricey but the convenience is great.

Does what it says it will do
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product was very easy to install, and not bad on setting it up. It does not have a great range and signal strength so I had to plug it in closer to my router. My house isn't all that big that it should matter, but the range on this could use some improvement. Other than that I would have given this a 5 star rating.

Smart Outlet - As It Says
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn't quite sure what we'd ever need a smart outlet for, until Christmas time came around. That's when I decided it would be better to have our tree lights connected to something that wouldn't require digging behind the tree to turn off and on. We bought this outlet because it was mid price range and I could verify it was Amazon Echo compatible. And it has performed very well for its intended purpose. I was able to install and configure it very quickly. Integrated it to our Echo so I could just tell Alex to turn the tree on or off in a matter of minutes. The only real negative I could say about it is that it has an audible relay clicking noise when you turn it on and off. Doesn't bother me or anybody else in the house, but I think some people would find it bothersome.

Wi-fi / Amazin Echo capable outlet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was our first controllable outlet to evaluate options for automating our home. Pros: Easy to set up and control using Amazon Echo / Alexa (primary purpose) No separate "hub" required. Many systems require their own hub to function. Since we already had the Echo, we wanted to avoid another ~$80 hub purchase that limited our platform going forward. Has an on/off switch on the outlet for direct operation as well. Cons: While relatively inexpensive compared to others, one must weigh the $30 per outlet to automate functions. Only one outlet, and it is physically large. Make sure it won't block what you need to plug into the other outlet.

Good Product and competitive price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got 3 of these WeMo wifi smart plugs and set them up with Amazon's Echo. Worked great. Setup was fairly straightforward. Every once in a great while, the device will not respond to a command to turn off or turn on, but I've only experienced that twice the whole time I've owned them. The only downside to the ones I purchased is that the size is larger than I'd like or expected. It really will eat up a whole outlet. Considering you don't want to short the plug, it's not recommended to plug a surge protector into it to gain back the lost outlets so this limits things just a bit. Would give 5 stars if they were only as big as one outlet.

simple control for lamp
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I can use the ipad app to control the wemo - much easier to pair it with an Amazon Echo. I choose to buy 2 of the WeMo basic switches to control 2 lamps in the living room... the 'tall' lamp and the 'small' lamp. After installing ipad app, connecting them 1 at a time, updating the firmware, and then naming them - I was set. Since we have the Amazon Echo as well, I asked Alexa to 'discover my devices' - to which she took about 30 seconds to discover both. Now I can just say "Alexa turn on the tall lamp" - without having to open the iPad - yup it's that lazy simple. I did have a router needs reboot situation -- and after that I did have to rediscover 1x after a wifi network reboot, but that too was 30 seconds -- after I confirmed that both WeMo switches were back online. Haven't create any 'scenes' where I can turn BOTH on or off at once... sure to try that later this month. With the success of the plug in switch, I have been looking at WeMo Light Switches, but the WeMo version doesn't have dimming capacity --- yet. Once it does handle dimming, I would consider swapping out the key ones. (kitchen, entryway, bedroom, hallway) -- so come on Belkin - add the dimming and keep the easy Automation coming.

Cool product!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are one that travels often and has a light on a timer I'd think about this product! you don't have to keep it set for the same time everyday you're gone. Change it up. Also, if its night time and you are far from the light switch you can turn it on from your phone quickly without tripping over things or running into stuff.

Great Home Automation Item
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own about 5 WeMo switches and LOVE them. I bought this one as a gift for a friend who resisted buying one herself. I set it up for her, taught her how to use the app and she loves it as much as I do. I've had very good luck with all my switches and I recommend them regularly.

Good Wifi Outlet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We got two wifi outlets on sale for use with houselights while away from home. Ability to switch on and off at our choosing from anywhere was a great selling point. Simple app that is very easy to use. Works great. Also a switch on the device to manually turn lights on and off when at home if wish not to do so through the app. The only reason this is a 4 star instead of a 5 star rating is due to the size of this device. I've seen smaller ones on the market. These were higher priced outlets, but on sale at the same price of the less expensive ones. Other than the size, I'm 100% satisfied with them.

So handy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this thing. I can't remember what it's like to have to walk over and turn something on lol. Now I can use my phone or my amazon echo. I primarily got this to use with the echo and it is wonderful. My only suggestion is that it be smaller. It has a huge footprint compared to some others. Other then that, I love it!

Works well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two of these. One worked right out of the box with no issues. The second one would not pair with my router. I had to do a hard reset on this unit. After the reset, it found the router with no issues.

Very pleased and satisfied
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have purchased several of the Belkin products and have really been happy with their performance, ease of set up, and utility. Have purchased others for use throughout my house. Helps in lighting up house in areas I am going into when dark. Purchased more when they were cheaper, usually wait for them to come on sale.

Great device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works as advertised and better. Being able to set it to cone on and go off at specific times helps. Being able to disable the outlet with my smartphone so my son doesn't sneak his TV on at night an added bonus.

Excellent product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this product works great. I love the phone ap and the ability to switch on stuff while away. I want to try the scheduled part, but havent done that yet. The reason for a less than perfect score is that this unit is quite large. They make a newer smaller one that I wish I had seen before I got this one as I have 3 now and 1 is behind my end table in my master bedroom but had to pull it away from the wall in order for it to fit. That is my only issue. A really awesome product and easy to connect.....just follow the instructions. Takes about 10 minutes.

Only as good as your WiFi is
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Using these outlet plugs was my solution to avoiding fishing electrical wire for switches. I wanted over cabinet lighting, so I plug the rope light in to these units and they work on timers or manually through my iPhone6. 2 problems: If your wifi is not strong, these units will not respond sometimes... meaning, you may want to turn them off, but the app on the phone will not register the units. Luckily there is a button on the unit that you press to turn them on/off if this happens. Second problem: The app is not user friendly... it took me a long time to set up the first two units. And a bit to figure out the timer functions. I hope that they update the app software to make it more user friendly.

No nonsense independent remote reliable gadget`
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never knew you could buy such a device on it's own verses buying service and a load of controllable devices from cable companies in the past and current. This device is awesome. You can turn on and off anything that stays on or off when turned on and off manually. All this can be done with the built in scheduler which allows you to control what you turn on when and what time of the day or week. Even can program for on and off timing to count down or to turn on. No fees to pay or stuck with useless equipment you can't use anywhere. This devices can be use anywhere or place just as long there is wireless fidelity or wireless device such as phone, tablets or pads.

Needs some updates from Belkin
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought three of these switches and setup was straightforward right out of the box. All switches worked flawlessly for about two weeks and integration with Alexa went without a hitch. One morning, I checked my Wemo Android app and all three switches were grayed out. I checked my wifi settings and everything was working. I had not changed any settings on my router overnight and so nothing material had changed to warrant the disconnect. The switches were likewise unavailable via Alexa and all my other smart home devices were working as usual. I checked my router settings and all was as usual. I uninstalled and then reinstalled the Wemo app, but no joy. I reset each switch to factory settings and attempted the setup routine, but they wouldn't connect. I scoured Belkin's web site for a solution, but nothing suggested worked. I consider myself fairly adept at troubleshooting most computer/network/hardware issues and so, am not sure if the average consumer who is not would be pleased with this product if they encountered the same issues I did. Very frustrating. Belkin most likely needs to revise and then push a firmware update or otherwise make the setup of this product easier to use for the average consumer. Until they work out the kinks, I wouldn't recommend this product.

Posted .Hi, Larman
The Wemo Switches could've lost their connection with your router. For cases like this, a network power cycle usually helps. Since you have tried some steps to get them up and running, please email us at [email protected] with your phone number and the link to this post so we can endorse you to our Wemo Experts.

Exceeds Expectations
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an easy to use and quite useful gadget. It was easy to setup, works as advertised, and the supporting IOS app really extends the functionality of this wifi switch. I love that the app connected you not only to the wemo switch but also to the other gadgets supported by wemo like Nest. I also love that it has a scheduling option that is intuitive and easy to use as well as compatibility with IFTTT and Amazon Alexa. After installing and using this item, I am eager to add the wemo light switches and light bulbs throughout the house.
