    Don't waste money

    Can't believe we waisted money on all these switches and now looking for replacements. Off line 80% of the time. Having to reset. Read reviews on Google.

    Okay for simple installations

    I can only assume those not having any trouble are using basic router setups. My preferred wireless router setup is: - password protected WPA2 security - SSID not broadcast - wireless N only (not A, B or mixed) to avoid interference with other wireless devices in the same spectrum There's no option with this device to enter an SSID. You can only choose from broadcast SSIDs. Once I started broadcasting my SSID, it found the router but couldn't connect (by the way my password has no spaces or special characters). So I tried again with no wireless security and SSID broadcast (in other words wide open for any person nearby to access - not what I want at all) and it still wouldn't connect. So then I switched to mixed mode (A/B/N) with broadcast SSID AND no security and FINALLY I got it to connect. EITHER switching back to wireless N only OR turning security back on brought back the same issues. I upgraded the firmware hoping that it would resolve some of these issues, but no go. So it appears the only way I can get this to work is to open up my network for all my neighbors to use. I'd love to hear of anyone that has made it work with a more secure wireless network.

    50/50 Chance of Failure

    I bought my first WeMo in November 2015. Set it up in minutes. Bought the second device this past weekend (April 2016) and it will not setup. I am not a tech novice. The WeMo devices are too hit and miss to trust. I will be returning this junk to the store for a refund. I am not in the mood to spend 5 hours online trying to troubleshoot the problem. Belkin - YOU FAILED ME AGAIN. Your company will never get another dime of my money.

    Frustrating

    The wemo comes with no real set up directions, and you have to rely on app for set up. Three problems, there is more than one app claiming to be wemo. If you download the wrong one, it doesnt work. Two, no one really tells you that wemo app doesnt work on anything but brand new kindle or a smart phone. Three, I found it impossible to connect more than one wemo in my home, even with hours of tech support. Was able to get one working, and once set up, it does the job. But the frustration was not worth it, life is too short.

    Poor Support, Poorly designed software

    Bought several WeMo switches, set them up and worked fine. Upgraded my wireless access point. Reset Wemo's and set them up again. Can now only control them via external network, not on local wireless net, although no errors in the setup of the devices. No devices are found locally after setup, just hangs. Made numerous calls to support, and paid for Belkin Premium support. Have never reached anyone knowledgable about WeMo's. Only receive repetitive e-mails asking me to repeat the things I have already done. Research on nthe net indicated that Belkin stores info about the Wireless access point the device is associated with on their servers. If you change the access point name it cannot be updated on their servers by the consumer. You are also unable to reach anyone at Belkin to reset or correct the info. Am the not so proud owner of three semi-useless bricks call WeMo now.... Based on the support experience I have stopped by Belkin products as a rule..

    Loads of Problems

    Well, it is a great idea. And sometimes it actually works. But far too many times it wont work, and it isn't the same problem. First major problem, app lost contact with the devices. Had to go through set up procedure again. They worked fine for a few days. Then the programmed schedule froze. I could still turn them on and off from the app, but the schedule failed. Deleted the schedule and reentered a test schedule. That worked, so I deleted and entered the schedule I wanted. That froze the app. Twice. Here is the real irony. I got these devices for convenience. But I spend more time, wait, I mean I waste more time screwing around with them trying to get them to work right than I do by just putting in a manual timer and using the override. Bottom line is it is a great idea, but Belkin hasn't figured out how to make it work consistently. Right now I am wishing I could get my money back and I urge everyone DONT BUY THESE, YOU WILL REGRET IT!

    Couldn't even get it to connect

    Zero stars. I tried for over an hour to get this thing working. I am a very savvy tech guy so buyer beware. I tried using both my android phone (version 6) and my android tablet (version 5). On the tablet I could connect to the switch itself but when it tried to access my network, it found it but failed to connect. From my phone, I wasn't even that lucky. In fact, at one point it didn't even see my home network, which is odd given I was right next to the router. I followed all the steps they provide for resolving issues. None worked. If it was this difficult, I don't want this product line. It will be returned. FYI, my router is a Netgear.

    Does not understand strong network passwords

    I have a very strong wifi network password: made up of several words and spaces, etc. During the setup process it told me it did not support such passwords. Now, this is not unusual. It is standard WPA2, and I have many devices (computers, phone, printers, etc) that can handle the password just fine. Thus the WeMo is useless.

    Does not work well with Nexus 6P

    Set up took a miracle and trial and error to finally set up the Wemo Switch without the app crashing. Every time I turn the switch on or off, the app crashes. I can no longer view or change the rules with my phone, I only get a white screen. I have to use another phone and after the Daylight Savings change, I have to set the rules an hour earlier than they actually are.

    Would not keep the TV on

    The product did turn the TV on and off, but not at the programmed times. It could not handle the AMP draw of a 55" TV. Although it did work correctly for simple light and fixtures.

    Loses connection constantly

    The only smart device that hasn;t worked with Alexa, drops connections constantly. Terrible device. Other devices further away worked.

    Don't waste your money. Wemo app doesn't even see it. Had to use a 3rd party app for that. Remote access does not work period.

    Great... If you only want to use it in house

    Doesnt work remotely at all. Keeps telling me cant enable remote access, I love the idea but they flat out don't work and I will be returning them.
