Setup took a second attempt, no lights to determine which ports are active, easy to access router software from taskbar, wired xbox streaming is smooth, all peripherals (Zune, Squeezebox, laptop and printer) found and hooked up to the wireless easily. Deal of the Day $17, good buy at Best Buy.

Good, basic router. Easy to install

This was purchased to replace a much older router of a competing brand that had failed. It was NOT puchased as a wireless router; only the wired connections are used at this time. It was easy to install. No problems encountered, no need for technical help. It's been working fine since installation and no need to reset it daily like the old one.

Great and simple for regular home use

The modem is really easy to set up and install. It pretty much is great except for the fact that it "freezes" from time to time and the wireless connection is lost which may be frustrating when you are in the middle of a Skype call. When it happens it just needs to be restarfed. Other than that pretty good stuff.

I needed this to replace a wireless router that got struck by lighting. For the price, very easy setup and good performance as well. Both my laptop and phone attached to it quickly. Setup was a breeze - quick start instructions covered everything I need. Note that I'm a fairly advanced user though, so I'm not sure that novices would have the same experience.

Best router ever for the money

I have set up MANY routers over the years at home, work, for friends, etc. I usually have purchased and used Cisco, Linksys, and Netgear. This was by far the easiest router to configure that I have ever set up. Pulled it out of the box, followed simple instructions and setup was fully automated. I then packaged it up and sent to daughter to set up in dorm room. She, too, had it up and running in seconds without any help from me. Excellent product for an excellent price. Hightly recommended.

    middle of the road router

    Posted .

It's a middle of the road Router. If you are just setting up wired or wireless, set up is fine--just make sure to have your home or work groups set up prior to installing the router & only install 1 computer as the lead or master computer. If you try to do a blended wired & wireless--say you have a desktop & a laptop or tablet, be prepared to do some work---it really doesn't like both being setup. Or dump the $20 extra for a better router that has no problem with blended services. Good news is: it doesn't get warm & you don't have to reset it....but that's all I can come up with-- it's pretty average.

I have had this for about a month. It was a good price, thou it sometimes stops working and then I have to re set it and call the internet company which they tell me it has a signal it's just the router. For what I paid for it does the job. Has done that to me about 3x, now.

    Very poor quality router.

I bought this on sale for $25, so I wasn't expecting much. Therefore I wasn't surprised when it stopped working after 2 weeks. It was very easy to set up and it was quite fast considering the price. The range was also exceptional. Then one day I saw that there was no wireless network available on my tablet, so I checked the router and the indicator light was amber. The LAN output didn't work either. I was able to access the devices webpage, but that was it. I exchanged it for another unit, which also worked great out of the box, but this one only lasted a week before it quit working. It's indicator light is still blue and the LAN output still works (at about half speed), but there is no wireless output. I'll be staying away from Belkin routers from now on.

    Best set up out there!

Not only have I installed this router in several of our Clients homes and offices, but we use in our home office as well. So easy to set up a child can do it, and so reliable it's crazy! Knocks EVERY other manufacturers router into a trash can by comparison! Oh and those reviewers who said it kept dropping signal and that their ISP told them it was the router; we found several clients with the same problem and it was the ISP's MODEM that was the problem, NOT the router!

Good router for the price, but needs instructions

I couldn't get this router hooked up and there were no directions and no number to call to get help. I was told in store that it was VERY easy to set up! It definitely WAS NOT!!! I had to have my brother-in-law come over and hook it up for me, and it took him like an hour, and he's a computer guy!! Now that it's hooked up it works great. We just use it for my daughter's laptop and her iphone, and we haven't had any problems at all. Very good price.

    My first router

This is the first router I've ever owned and I have zero problems with it. It was very easy to set up and install and I haven't had any signal problems whatsoever in the 2 months I've had it. I have my Tivo directly connected to it and connect wirelessly to it with my Toshiba Netbook and the speed isn't blazing fast but it's not slow either. But that might just be my internet connection in general.

Horrible set up but I'm not tech savy

It took me days to get this to set up properly! Finally resorted to calling customer service but the packaging has absolutely no phone number to call. Had to connect my computer directly to my modem to get net service and finally found a number to call. Then hard to understand the overseas tech support. About 40 minutes later, I finally got it to work properly. Once working, I have good range in my 1500 sq. ft. 2 story home.

It sped up my internet connection

I had a 4 year old Netgear router and decided to buy a new one. Before this new router, I was getting slow speeds; anywhere from 2-6 Mbps. I even directly connected my cable modem to my computer and about the same. After connecting this new router, for some odd reason, I'm now getting speeds upwards to 22 Mbps as you see below. I even re-connected my cable modem directly to my computer and back to slow speeds. I have no idea why a new router would make this big of a change in speed but I'm curious why. Anyone care to comment?

Bought this for church youth center, rec room. Plug it into cable modem. Plug power into AP/router. Search for network name on laptop. Enter pre-programmed wep key. Click and you are on the internet. This is how all consumer network equipment should work. R U listening Cisco?

Store employee tried to upsell me a more expensive model, but I sticked with this least expensive Belkin wireless router. Turned out, I was right. The router is beautiful, has a stand, was easy to set up, and is working fine. Good job Belkin.

This was a router I purchased for a team to include Wireless connections between remote laptops. Since I cannot be at all events, I feel confident that others can use the GUI interface to fix anything should a failure happen. This is a good device for the price, and I would recommend it to anyone.
